  1. Mila is at 4-1! She must really be a gamer I don't have any here but I've seen a few wrestlers playing games. Theres one of the British Bulldog playing MTPO.
  2. Yeah this is exactly what I was going for, which is why MM5 is rarer than MM6. In fact, I was at my friends house yesterday (I showed him Mega Man V for GB and we played it on the Super Game Boy). His wife was telling me a story that they had Mega Man 1 - 4 but then they saw Mega Man 6. They never saw 5. Only years later they saw it, but at the time they didn't see or they would have bought it. Theres no doubt to me Capcom decided the game wouldn't be worth it for them if they had to pay the tab to print an NES game in the states on a dying system. Theres no 'test run' or anything. Either you release the game or you dont. Companies distributing the game shell out the price to get their carts made (what was it like $8 a game?) and base the amount to print on how much it would sell. If it sells really well, they'll make another print run. Its been speculated that the minimum print run was 10k carts. Id say thats feasible. AFAIK one of the only games that has a known print run is Maniac Mansion, the first run is 250k carts and then I think they added another 100k. So 350k carts and take into consideration how often you see that game. Not often, but not rare.
  3. Haha I should have specified its a move I love that I dont want to own
  4. My biggest complaint is how they had to modernize it for newer audiences. But since that couldn't be avoided I liked it. Its not a classic but it wasn't embarrassing. I dug it. Also with that said, the original movie is so good, I refuse to own it as to not spoil it by watching it too many times. Might be the only movie i've ever done that with.
  5. That would be so odd that they would make these 'test' ones. I wish I can remember where I read that Capcom was not releasing MM6 in the US but in Japan and elsewhere. I cant imagine them even starting to print test copies because why waste those resources if you think its not gonna be profitable? I suspected Capcom wanted to move on to the more successful SNES in the more 'cutting edge' country like the US, where elsewhere where they were a little behind, thought MM6 would sell well there since people haven't moved to the SNES yet or maybe wasn't even released there yet. Still interesting. I was so wanting to get a copy but since I believe it was never intended for the US im happy not going bonkers looking for copy haha
  6. Maybe they considered SA to be part of Mexico? Or maybe it was released in Mexico and not SA? All of Latin America (Mexico, Honduras etc) all use NTSC
  7. I can't remember where but I can remember reading that Capcom said they were not going to release MM6 in the US. I don't think it ever was intended. Im thinking that "USA" on the label really just means "NSTC". Which is why some of those games that didn't sell well went to South America. I got my F2 from Chile.
  8. Nice. So as I always re-iterate, my hypothesis is that: The "USA" Capcom MM6 was actually released in NTSC countries outside the US. (First print late 93) The -1 Nintendo MM6 was for the US (Early 94, after Capcom gave Nintendo the rights for distribution after saying they were not going to release it in the US) The Playtronics MM6 is Brazilian and was printed in 1996!
  9. I once repaired a game where the PRG chip was bad. So I put in an EPROM but still kept the original but dead chip. I think for something like this, someone might not mind since the price would have to have been dropped because it was essentially broken. Also the person buying it has to know that it has been repaired as well.
  10. They havent, a MAJORITY of cards/comics are worthless. Only a few are worth a lot. Most of the sports cards / comics are also legitimately rare because they're pieces of paper that have happened to have lasted over FIFTY years without being lost or damaged. And its USUALLY from doctors/lawyers/actors driving the price up who are buying back their childhoods that always wanted that card or comic they couldn't have. Now its been part of pop culture but it took decades. Also it can be as a status symbol, "I have the first Super Man!" "I have a Honus Wagner". Its only a 'smart' investment if you got them cheap either a LONG time ago or by accident. If you're getting into NES now because you think the prices are gonna go up higher, I think you're a fool. Hell prices were going down right before COVID and now with that boom, its just gonna take a bit longer for it to go back down. We're talking about media thats at best 30 years old. There are STILL plenty of games around, aside from some notable exceptions. You think anyone except people going for a full set care about Stadium Events? No. MAYBE Mario, but who cares about Samus, Kid Icarus, the average person doesn't know or care about it. If SE wasn't considered part of the set, no one would care to own it and its price would sink. If you have 12k to spend on a game because you think its worth more? I dunno, to me it seems like money isnt really a problem for you. These things that are only worth what someone is willing to pay for it. If I have an incredibly rare variant that people want, the price is very high. But I have a rare variant of something no one cares about, its not worth anything. Thinking of these things as investments is a short term goal at best. A few games will still have value for the people that care about it, but most wont. I say, in the long run, no one is gonna care and why should they? As time moves on less and less new people are gonna care about them or they're gonna get priced out. New people is what is gonna keep the prices up, else you're just passing the same dollar to the same group of people.
  11. Long term value? Id say you're smoking the hopium. But hey, its your money to throw away not mine.
  12. I was working at a local electronics store and teaching guitar. But I left the electronics store right before covid looking for something better. So im just treading water until things start really opening up. Luckily I had plenty saved cuz all I did was work.
  13. Well, pulling a leg out of a chip :P. Just a tad more intrusive haha
  14. I think I got it for like 3 or 4 bucks a couple of years ago but I think I remember hearing rumblings about it being rare. But its price seems to be exorbitant.
  15. Sold 8. Watched them all last year and I understood what everyone was talking about. Although i prefer 3 because Sir Sean puts it over the top
  16. I am not a Trump supporter AT ALL, but he's the embodiment of what America has become. As I always say, we get the president we deserve. Capitalism, bro.
  17. Yeah. I haven't bought anything in a while that would get me big ebay bucks but it certainly helped. When I bought my F2, it was when they had a 10% ebay bucks promotion. I then used part of the ebay bucks to buy a copy of Kid Klown when it was $90.
  18. Well how about this then? This girl has been playing for a few years now. Shes decent. But if you listened with your eyes closed, I dont think this would garnish over half a million views in a week. Her e string is even a hair out of tune. It is what it is. I mean you can just read the comments.
  19. Know whats amusing, I saw this thread in the 'new posts' section when you enter the forum and I said to myself... this is an avatar! thread. What a surprise!
