  1. EDIT: Responded to a post one page ago and it looks like it was already answered.
  2. OK HOW the F does this thread in less that 24 hours have almost 450 replies? The hell is going on here?
  3. You can, but the main way is really to triple shot freeze him in place with the holy water as soon as he spawns. You would need to be EXTREMELY lucky on the scythe spawns to dodge him otherwise.
  4. Fair criticism. Also amusing because you start on 'easy' mode! I would craft it a bit different and say you basically need triple shot for Death. Either triple shot crosses or holy water. Without it yeah you're basically finished.
  5. 8. I would like to vote but Im not voting for any of the 'next' games because I dont really know and never played them. I kinda know of Ikaruga.
  6. Thats not what I was saying . The 80s just happened to be filled with great ACTION movies, where story and plot weren't important and gun fights/explosions were. People who are this boomers age have a fondness for em and dont need to judge its cinematic art the way people do with the Godfather or Casablanca. Its just curious to me that your critique of Predator not having not much of a story or forgettable characters, when its about the action/fighting and Arny delivering awesome one liners is like saying "Filet Mignon isn't a great dinner cuz im a vegitarian" haha
  7. Im inclined to believe you did not grow up in the 80s. BTW people don't watch action movies for story, then want action and excitement! Stories are usually as direct and straight forward as possible.
  8. I drove into NYC for a couple of hours on NYE close to midnight but made it home in time.
  9. One website is enough for me.
  10. @Galdius yes that was it, thank you! I was specifically thinking of the RE3 with Dino Crisis disc. I was working at a store and someone asked about if the game had the disc, and I forgot the reason why. Did it have to do with an earlier build of the game or something?
  11. I dont know much about them but I use them as my example for creating the thing I like the least about zombies. Truth be told, the song wouldn't be so bad without the weird pitchy and out of tune voice cracking things. And the p4 over the G chord (C note) before the vocals, affectionately known in jazz as 'the avoid note'.
  12. I dunno if its worth more but isn't there something with RE2? Didn't it come with a demo for another game, or some other game came with a demo of RE2? Someone refresh my memory here. Not good on the disc stuff
  13. 93. The year DooM came out.
  14. Or it can mean, Cart, Instructional Booklet, Box I dunno. Its just silly. CIB will always be complete to most people and getting into the granular detail of all of that stuff is really for the minority of CIB collectors, which already are a minority of cart based collecting.
  15. Terrible. I was never a fan, but seeing the outpouring of wrestlers saying how kind he was is a real shame. And so young too.
  16. Great list! I would suggest maybe making a separate section for those games that werent released in the US but do have a PAL release, like Mr. Gimmick, Crazyland, Hammerin' Harry, Beauty and the Beast etc
  17. If we want to be technical, it was the 'New Gen' era, since the In Your Houses started halfway thru 95 and 1996 was the first year of a full 12 month PPV schedule. Pretty sure they were beating WCW to the bunch. I might be off but WCW was putting on more than 4 but less than 12 PPVs a year at the time.
  18. Im really surprised by all the Running Man love. Not cuz its bad, but I never heard anyone really talk about it as much as the other bigger classics
  19. COMMANDO! Had the movie memorized for a period of time. But honestly there are no wrong answers here. Predator/T2 is probably his best and Last Action Hero is so underrated. I thought it was a perfect parody movie for him.
  20. Im a big Nirvana fan, and people always put so much emphasis on his lyrics, when he's said theyre almost meaningless. They're just bits of interesting phrases, word salads etc. One song could have lines of lyrics that all mean different things, instead of one coherent form like a more traditional song. The problem when it comes to music is how the listener appreciates it. Most people don't want to put in 'work' to understand the complexities of harmony especially when theres a lot of tension, or deceptive cadences etc. They want something they kinda dont have to think about. But on the other hand, as someone that loves that stuff, I can understand how people WONT like that stuff so if you're critiquing something, its important to address both sides and not that its bad because you cant understand it.
  21. Just responding the OP, kinda but not really. Usually its somewhat significant if its mass praised, or mass panned. But I can't think of one single instance where any critic has either changed my mind on something, or made me want to buy or not buy something. I think a lot of critics think much more highly about themselves than they should. Or to convey, how they felt or their opinion on something, instead of saying 'this character was bland, the writing was horrible' without citing examples or how to improve on it. I also kinda am in the camp where I wish critics were people who excelled in that field. For example, when it comes to music, someone who I know personally has a lot of knowledge tells me something is good or bad, their opinion is weighted more because they're more intimate with the details of what they're talking about.
