  1. I’d honestly rather clean the attic during the summer than play Pong longer than a few minutes. The only way I can enjoy pong is by showing my kids where gaming “started” and it would have to be either a fleeting moment “Dad what’s this game?” Or a dedicated trip to a game museum.
  2. Average. I tried playing a few games a few times and nothing held my attention for a few minutes. This is also after googling “top Intellivision games” and playing the results. The console almost gives a semblance of nostalgia to me since my grandmother and mother used to play it and would talk about it to me once in a while. All pre-NES consoles have no place on my connected systems shelf though. This includes Atari 2600, 5200, ColecoVision, Intellivision, Astrocade, Channel F, Odyssey 2, Vectrex, etc. It doesn’t mean I don’t collect for them, and I certainly appreciate what they did, but they are closer to novelties than they are to games for me. As far as I’m concerned you could have label this entire thread “Generation 2 of game consoles”
  3. My Secret Santa was @twiztor and he crossed off every item on my list! Thank you Thank you first of all for your donation to St Judes Childrens Research Hospital. It’s my personal favorite charity second only to Ronald McDonald House. Next, thank you for the candies. There’s something about sour childhood candies that make me happy. I love the custom Hey You Pikachu cart! Now I need to track down a mic and enjoy the frustration I had years ago. Not pictured is the custom ornament! I can’t wait to hang it up on my VGS Tree next year! Finally the piece-de-resistance (not how it’s spelled but whatever) Thank you for sharing the secret recipe to the Krabby Patty Santa’s Secret List Making Technique. My efficiency has increased 100 fold, and with some honing I can add a few zeroes.
  4. Or...was it? Broderbund uses their logos in the games they published, but if you look at the boxart concept on that poster it shows Irems logo where Brøderbund’s should be. My theory: Brøderbund was going to distribute it while Irem published it. @Braveheart69 claims the poster is also found in Sqoon. I believe him, but Sqoon is one of the items permanently in my saved searches and I never see *any* with the insert. I hate advertising this as well, since it increases the chances of someone just throwing that insert in just to look more complete...but it also may bring them out of the woodwork so it’s a double edged sword.
  5. Well...if you want to get that technical It started January 11, 2001 since October 5, 1582 - October 14, 1582 don't exist.... You can't reach 2,000 full years (730,485 days) without adding 10 extra days to the calendar. (Really! Google it!)
  6. It's called PRESERVATION. >_> also people need to stop using Goo-Gone to remove stickers and start using Un-Du Classic Formula or N-Heptane/Bestine/Lighter Fluid.

  8. https://www.dickblick.com/products/lineco-neutral-ph-adhesive/?clickTracking=true&wmcp=pla&wmcid=items&wmckw=17314-1005 Dries clear, acid free, and fully reversible with ordinary water. I wouldn't use it on something like a NWC without consulting an expert though.
  9. Spacepup gots my vote. I love that song, and the 8-bit echo works for it for me. Zi was my runner up.
  10. Excuse me sir, but the B/S/T portion of this internet website is restricted to commerce only. I'm not a moderator, but I'd be glad to page the moderators next time. ...Wait, what are you doing with that hammer? ....WAIT WHY DOES IT SAY BAN P.S. @Retro_treasure I think the first person to reply in this topic @austin532 has some for sale.
  11. I want to support it just to show the other companies that gaming handhelds are still fun. The market sucks with only one handheld being around, and even that one handheld is pretending to be a console.
  12. Just checked myself. #96! I’m the sexy number when they’re arguing! Looks much less creepy when typing it out.
  13. Popeyes is working on a competing console using AMD chips instead, Churches is going ARM based, Zaxbys states they have no interest in competing. When reached out for comments Chic-fil-a just said “my pleasure” through a dead blank smile
  14. HE SPEAKS AGAIN! I now only account for 33.3% of all sage content I’m still your favorite though right? Also, I vote for @spacepup
  15. Well, this was the last push I needed to start PC collecting for serious. I’m looking forward to being a customer :) Anyone know what a holographic Daggerfall is going for these days?
  16. ... how is Ohm’s shirt staying in place. Also, as someone who knows almost nothing about electricity other than how to (Improperly) wire a light socket, this only clearly explains voltage to me.
  17. Oh god thank you for bringing this thread back. Id love to just read through them one day
  18. True. Although you might call me prudish, but it feels like there's a not-so-fine line between immersive character customization, and choosing how thick, hairy, veiny, and cut your third leg of a penis should be in a video game. Then again, it feels good to finally be represented....
  19. Can anyone explain to me the appeal of a first-person game avatar having genitals. Seems sort of like a pointless thing even if it were third-person, unless of course the game is a full blown adult dating sim.
  20. It’d be nice to have something owned and operated by an actual community member that cares about the hobby before it was coocoo.
  21. When people argue the literal definition of "Retro" I like to point to the word "Terrific" Today, the word terrific means something great. Before it was something that invoked great fear. It is directly related to the word "Terror" and "Terrifying". That aside, I consider a game platform to be retro when there are a few generations between releases. Dreamcast, Xbox, PS2, Gamecube, and GBA have been retro for me for a couple years now. Xbox 360, PS3, Wii, DS, and PSP will be retro for me in a few short years. Edit: Also I need to add this. I also consider everything before the NES (2600, 5200, INTV, Coleco, etc.) to be something else. Maybe "archaic" or "antiquated" These games for me are unplayable, and only appreciable as relics of their time to me. They are also "retro" but they are "Antiquated Retro Games" ... NES will eventually be here, and it's getting close for me.
  22. The main site is garbage. Stick to specific forums and you’ll be okay. Though on occasion the main site bleeds into even the smallest of “subs” or “subreddits” I like to think of the website like a collection of forums that all share one login. The more popular a forum gets, the more echo-like content shows up though so you basically gotta get in early and get out fast or else you’ll stop forming your own opinions just to follow the herd more or less
  23. "A", "An", and "The" are typically ignored when sorting content titles alphabetically. "A Boy and His Blob" is a "B" title. "A Nightmare on Elm Street" is an "N" title. "The Legend of Zelda" is an "L" title. I guess that also means you can ignore "Les" in "Les Chevaliers du Zodiaque : La Légende D'or " and "Die" in "Die Schümpfe"
