Announcing an impromptu chiptune (think 8-bit music) contest. Experienced music artist, amateur, or never dabbled before, all welcomed. There is a prize, but this is mostly for fun / holiday cheer. The Particulars: You can use any software to compose, track, or record your chiptune as long as it can export a playable file (.NSF, MP3, WAV, etc) Here is a free web based one: https://onlinesequencer.net This is more subjective, but the theme to be holiday / Christmas You can limit to what can play on a NES, Master System, or other 8-bit console / computer, but it is not required. EDIT: Collaborations are okay (only one prize though) Submission: Submissions are open now until 12/20 @ 11:59 PM VGS Time. You can submit one entry. You can edit or replace your entry during the open period of submissions, or get feedback, but only one entry at time of close. Voting: Following the submission period, an embedded playlist of the chiptunes will be made and a corresponding poll open until 12/24 @ 11:59 PM VGS Time. Voting is open to all VGS members. Prize: Choice of either 8-Bit XMAS 2020 cart or $25 Amazon Gift Card

Hey guys, it's been about 6 months in the making. If you enjoy music for SNES Action and RPG titles such as Castlevania, Final Fantasy III, Chrono Trigger, I think you'll find a lot to like on my new album. There are rocking tracks, melancholy sonatas, and even some Hip Hop types of beats. I'm quite proud of it and hope you will check it out and support me! Most of the album is streamable but I hid some of the best tracks, so if you'll have to buy the album to get to all the goodness I hope you check it out and enjoy!! Hey guys! I'm pretty new around here but was a long-time NA poster. My music has been used by the Angry Video Game Nerd in his last few videos, so I'm hoping to use that to gain some momentum I'd love to work with developers and get more retro gamers interested in my music. Please check out and support here!: apebit.bandcamp.com and here the newest single off my upcoming album, Precipice: Stardust, which will be a dark, sci-fi sorta SNES-style album: Your support is really appreciated! Thanks so much! Apebit

Hi all! There are a few places I suppose I could ask this but I figured I would try here. I recently acquired a copy of the Sega CD chiptune Color Mechanica by Note! However I have not been able to get it to work on my Sega CD Model 2 console. I’m wondering if there is a compatibility issue with the album and my console, since I know the first volume of Sherlock Holmes: Consulting Detective also doesn’t work with Model 2’s. Does anyone have this album and can confirm if it works on a Model 2 console? Thanks!
