  1. Solid 2. Just ... why? Atari, you had it all. You stole the market from Magnavox and made it your own. Messing up with the 5200, fine. But you follow it up with another screwup? .... and then tried to make up for it with the Jaguar, and when that failed just made a CD add on? (At least Jaguar had a good Tempest game though) Nope. Sorry not sorry. I’d give it a 1 but the ActionMax, VirtualBoy, HyperScan, R-Zone, LaserActive, and Amstrad GX4000 exists.....0 is reserved for LJN Videoart and BBC Bridge Companion.
  2. Any bullethell SHMUP for a first timer to the genre.
  3. Easiest way is to download a GoodNES Romset and look for all games with a software revision for the NTSC format. Also, I think there’s a website dedicated to documenting differences in older games. But I think it’s more cross region stuff
  4. There goes half the comic collectors from the hobby then. >_> here's hoping for a flash crash.
  5. Finally I can delete them off my hard drive. ... They don’t take that much room though.... just in case.
  6. Would you call Jesus a middle eastern icon? Sonic is a global icon. Dude has cartoons, comics, a movie, merchandise, the works! Fun Fact: you can type in “[Your first name] the hedgehog“ on google and shitty sonic fan art will pop up. If you’re lucky, you might even get some Rule 34 on your name...
  7. Just casually posting a sealed amazing tater
  8. Man I love 1up arcade cabinets. They really do fill a great niche. Simpsons, X-Men, NBA Jam, Killer Instinct, Metal Slug, Cruis'n USA, and The Grid would complete my childhood arcade memories while I helped my grandmother run her shop at the flea market
  9. Oh wow! You're digging hard man You'll get this in no time.
  10. I’ve loved Morrowind, Enjoyed Oblivion, and was obsessed with Skyrim. But I will not give in and immediately say I’ll love the next one unless they make something worth playing. I have to say though, I haven’t played Skyrim in about a year and I don’t even want to...they might have pushed the latest iteration too far
  11. It’s called a “Kabocha” and it’s basically a Japanese pumpkin.
  12. I gladly give this game a 10/10 Its a marriage between parody, good gameplay, great music, and nostalgia. Are there better games? Yes. Can this game be better? Also Yes. But 10/10 doesn’t mean perfect, it just means it’s one of the best games.
  13. C64 is my vote. In don’t know much about classic SHMUPS (I’m more of a bullet hell kind of guy) But the sheer size of the C64 and the fact that so many NES SHMUPS are available on C64 makes me think it’s the better library.
  14. I expect to be done by this summer if I can get some rare pieces. There's certain mail cards and posters that are once in a year items that I may just have to borrow from someone to get the project done and wait for my own to pop up.
  15. 7, Not a lot of fanfare, but a lot of good games. Had the makings of a great console, but Sega and Nintendo was just too much for NEC to handle.
  16. This thread is disgusting...how can you eat that disgusting pile of crap. I mean REALLY!?!? ... Who eats chili without their cheese melted and a dab of sour cream. Savages.
  17. If you think that’s sad then imagine if out of those tens of thousands of people one of them was actually a foreign agent using the chaos as a cover for espionage. Now imagine if there was a recent massive hack of the nations secrets. Now imagine if those people managed to get into high profile offices and plant bugs, and do god knows what else. The nation has been completely compromised and it will take decades to discover the true depths of what actually happened these past 4 years. ... Wait this is a meme thread.
  18. Before I watch the video I will say the following. The Mobile Phone - It brought gaming to billions of people, plain and simple, an EASY #1 The Personal Computer - It never experienced a "market crash" and it's easily accessible since the beginning. Game Boy - I honestly feel without the Game Boy, the Mobile Phone wouldn't even be considered a gaming platform. PS2 & Xbox Console War - Not exactly "a" system, but these two basically knocked Nintendo off the top spot and put Nintendo as everyone's "other" console. Sega Genesis - The original antithesis to Nintendo. While Nintendo was all about family fun, Sega was about pushing blast processing in your face with its edgy mascot. PlayStation - It basically proved that disc based games were the future and cartridges are obsolete. NES - This console managed to save the home video game industry (in America) Atari Pong & Atari 2600 - Go on the street and ask someone "what was the first video game?" and a massive majority of people will either say "Atari" or "Pong". Despite that being wrong, it proves to how much influence it had on the market. Fairchild Channel F - WHAT? Why not? This is where the programmable cartridge was INVENTED. Not only that, but the inventor, Jerry Lawson, was an African American. A true pioneer in many, many ways. Magnavox Odyssey - The granddaddy of all video game consoles. Without this hunk of plastic we'd be playing stickball or something. Honorable Mentions Nintendo Switch - Nintendo officially departs the home game console market with a "soft exit" by creating a handheld game console and bundling it with a TV dock. The end of one of the most important chapters in gaming history. MicroVision - While not the first portable gaming system, it's the first one to use exchangeable cartridges. That counts for something. Mattel Auto Race - The first portable gaming system. 'nuff said. Intellivision, ColecoVision, and Oddysey 2 - Collectively accounting for about 7 million sales, these are the original "console war" consoles (along with the Atari 2600) Edit: PS, remind Jefferey that Contra isn't an NES game. It's a decent arcade port. NES is great, but it aint the real champion in history
  19. Welcome to the rabbit hole. 10 years later I’m still finding minor variants almost every day. NES is a lifelong hunt for variant hunters. Good luck!
  20. Currently the best place to post a “bounty” would be either on our community forums in the “Buying” forum, or one of the many Buy/Sell/Trade groups on Facebook. Be advised though, places like Facebook are somewhat predatory. once you post a bounty that instantly becomes the “zero point” meaning you will only have people coming to you with offers HIGHER than what you posted, and you also may create additional competition for this item since people want what other people want. The reddit community is or less an entry level community of people either just rediscovering the NES, or casual collectors. That isn’t a bad thing at all, but you’re not likely to get the help you want from there. Ill be honest, I think only a couple people own copies of that game here as well. You certainly picked a hard game to hunt!
  21. Well here’s the bad news and good news. The bad news is the -USA Mega Man 6 is a tough nut to crack since it involves lots of very hard work. The good news is the N7 Tecmo NBA Basketball just requires patience. The Bad News: -USA Mega Man 6 Buying stuff from a foreign market is pretty tough. I’m also in search for a Mega Man 6 -USA variant so I can tell you that they’re only found in Brazil. The Brazilian equivalent of eBay is called “Mercado Libre” and the website is in Portuguese. I think nowadays they have an English option, but the hard part is actually getting items on there to your door. There are additional services you can use, like a buying service that has a Brazilian address which then forwards it to you. This is extremely complicated so I highly suggest, if you’re not able to do this, to just post a bounty. That being said it’s hard to tell if even that will work. The Good News: N7 Tecmo NBA Basketball For the N7 Tecmo NBA Basketball, it’s much easier. You just have to have a couple months of patience and wait for one to show up. Step 1: Download the eBay app to your phone Step 2: Make an eBay account. Step 3: Type “Tecmo NBA Basketball NES” in the eBay searchbar. Step 4: Once you get your search results, click the little heart in the top left corner of the screen to “Save Search”. Make sure to also check the “Alerts on phone” button after clicking the heart as well to get alerts on your phone. What saving a search does is lets you know when new listings for those words you typed in show up on eBay. Wish you the best of luck! Those are some tough variants to find
  22. Tears can't be repaired. Theoretically, handwriting can be removed. Go with the one that has a chance for repair.
  23. Nice, so that's one more piece of the puzzle! :| wait, a sealed N7 that whole time? Damn
