  1. I owned a couple of their albums on cassette, of course Dookie and then purchased Insomniac when it was released, pretty much lost interest afterwards, but Dookie is great and I think it still holds up relatively well.
  2. Lufia 2, the game is awesome, I've started playing twice but for some reason I stopped playing it for an extended period so I forgot what I was doing and gave up entirely.
  3. SNES Final Fantasy 3, I've played a few RPGs before but nothing near as engaging as this, looking forward I've come to think that it might not have aged very well, but playing it for the first time has been my most memorable experience as a gamer. I've told my wife that if this game ever gets a remake in a modern console then that will be reason enough for me to own a modern console.
  4. I go something like this and it has been very useful removing stickers, I mainly bought it for removing ICs but this is cheap enough that it's probably a good investment: Hot Air Gun Heat Portable Solder Station Better YOUYUE 8858 Saike Yihua GJ 8018 https://www.ebay.com/itm/312762417004 Regarding magic eraser I avoid it when dealing with permanent marker, I use brake fluid or if it looks like it might come off easy I try dry erase marker, but if brake fluid fails then the marker has gone too deep and just accept the fact that if I want to remove it then it will have to be sanded down with magic eraser (by the way I hate it's called like that, it's absolutely deceiving, there's nothing magical about it, it's just sanding down your stuff).
  5. Before we owned a NES, my cousins owned one and had some first gen games including TLOZ which seem pretty impressive, one of my older cousins was playing and she was at Level 4 and needed to use the candle to brighten up darkened rooms which was mind blowing, she talked about how her older sister was at Level 6 and some nerdy girl in her class was going though the second quest. At that point I was pretty much convinced that I wanted a NES to play this game and my mother got us one that summer, we got no Zelda game though but it was lent to us at some point, I have very fond memories exploring the game on my own and randomly stumbling on secrets or new dungeons, discussing progress with kids at school was the only way to advance when you got stuck, luckily there were a few kids at school that were playing it as well so I fond out about things like the Magical Sword and how you need to use the flute to access Level 7. One time I stumbled across Level 9 a little early and shared my discovery at school, some older kid heard me talking about it and asked me for specific directions, good times! By the way I couldn't read English but the game has very few text, my mom provided me with an English to Spanish dictionary, thanks to that I was able to get though the lost woods. Overall this was a great game to play pre-internet days and it took me months or perhaps a year to complete the first quest, saying that I don't think it has aged well, big part of the experience was discussing progress with other people playing it and we didn't had internet to help you when you get stuck, it's just impossible to experience it today as we did back in the day which is a shame, it was a great game to own in the late 80s, early 90s.
  6. Hey welcome man! Nice to see you made it
  7. I mostly use brake fluid, apply with a cotton swab gently scrubbing, marker will slowly dissolve, when it's completely dissolved do not leave the brake fluid on the plastic as it can damage it, I remove it with a paper towel and scrub with alcohol a little bit to make sure it's gone, oh and this is for the plastic shell only, stay away from the labels.
  8. Hello everyone, welcome to the arcade club! I'll introduce myself, my name is Abelardo, I'm from Monterrey, Mexico, my first arcade experience as a kid was a Donkey Kong cab in a convenience store near where I lived and have been gaming on both consoles and arcades mostly during the 90s, I began collecting console games perhaps about 10 years ago and started with arcade about 4 years ago, I own 4 candy cabs and as far as games I own a lot of Neo Geo MVS and CPS2 games, both systems are very common in Mexico so I was able to build my collection, also ran into a lot of broken/dirty games so that made me want to learn to fix stuff and now I've embraced electronics repair as part of the hobby. That's it for me, looking forward to reading you guys
  9. I'm from Monterrey, Mexico, relatively close to Texas (it's a 140-150 mile drive to the border).
  10. I play Skyward Sword with my daughter and we're almost done with it, other than that I've been playing Dragon Quest 9, I'm near the end but grew tired of it and tried Radiant Historia for a change and got hooked, so now I've been playing that one instead.
  11. Welcome Tam! Hey that's pretty awesome stuff about SeaQuest DSV, learned something new today.
