  1. My two daughters and I have been playing BotW Master Quest since release, I'm the one that has put more hours and while I'm enjoying it, honestly it's starting to become a little tedious and sometimes frustrating (particularly when NPCs tell you about something to look for in a particular direction, usually I'm able to find it, but in two particular cases I've been unsuccessful so far, and unable to perform certain upgrades).
  2. @wyansas I can help, haven't used Mercado Libre in a while but I shouldn't have any trouble, send me a PM.
  3. I was playing Transistor the other day, my 4 year old daughter walks in and took her about 3 seconds to ask me who was the singer, now she's all intrigued about Red having lost her voice
  4. Finished Leisure Suit Larry - Wet Dreams Don’t Dry on the Switch, I hadn't played any Larry game since the 90s and honestly I think they did a pretty good job with this one, the humor is good (including lots of references to the original LSL game), the puzzles were fun and (with a few exceptions) not overly difficult to figure out. Right now both Switch games are on sale so it's a good time to pick them up.
  5. Liver and onions, surprised by the amount of mentions in this thread, how can anybody think it's a good idea to serve liver to a kid, I have never eaten beef liver again after that traumatic experience.
  6. I've only read one manga, Battle Angel Alita, it was so many years ago but I couldn't put it down, it's not that big either so I would recommend that one. Oh and I was not into comics so yeah it was that good. I watched just about any anime I could get my hands on during the 90s, the classics are good to get your feet wet, would recommend Ghost in the Shell, Ninja Scroll, Spirited Away, Macross Plus, and a personal favorite was Wicked City. For more modern anime I guess pick a genere and see what's out the, watch one or a couple of episodes and decide, I rarely watch anything modern these days but Hi Score Girl was entertaining.
  7. I'll occasionally give a full listen to my favorite albums, but in the streaming era I usually listen to my own playlists, genere specific playlists or discovery mixes, I might listen one or two albums a week that I haven't heard and add any songs I like, sometimes when the album is particularly good I give multiple listens and pick out more songs, rarely I get obsessed with an album and listen to it almost daily for weeks (last one was Blue Rev by Alvvays), but eventually every song I like goes into my playlists and that's it.
  8. Really enjoyed the original Tecmo Bowl game, had it on the Gameboy but as far as I could tell it was identical to the NES version, unfortunately Tecmo Super Bowl came out at the time everybody was crazy about Madden on the Genesis, TSB just seemed dated at that point, in retrospective TSB is great game that took the original TB formula and improved it in just about every aspect, the game has also aged reasonably well, that said I'd rather play TSB for the NES over any Madden game on the Genesis any day.
  9. It's a 10 for me, but I realize it hasn't aged as well as Chrono Trigger, I only recommend it to players who are interested in classic RPGs after they're done with CT and want something else.
  10. Slowed down almost to a halt, previous to the pandemic I was focusing on arcade games because there were still plenty of deals around, and also always had a few things for sale so the sales motivated me to keep finding deals, at the beginning of the pandemic I delisted everything and stopped looking for deals, nowadays I wouldn't mind going to the post office once in a while or meeting people to make deals for that matter, now it's not really that appealing anymore for me.
  11. I've been casually watching this WC, not really as closely as others (my peak was 1998-2002-2006), tomorrow's the final between Argentina and France, honestly I'm just hoping for a good game (please no controversial penalty shots), I'll be rooting for France but would be happy for either to win.
  12. Axiom Verge, it's a bit old now and has a retro aesthetic, but it's the best "modern" metroidvania I've played, the game is about 10 hours long.
  13. Finished AI: The Somnium Files on the Switch, I like point and click adventure games, it had good reviews, played the demo and enjoyed it, it was cheap so I bought it. Overall I enjoyed the game, but wouldn't recommend it to just about anyone, the majority of the time you're going though dialog but the story is good, there are branching paths that lead to different endings and to get the true ending you have to go through them all, the whole thing took me about 40 hours to finish due to my tendency to explore just about everything (how long to beat average is 30 for completionist). Things I liked the most are the story, the gameplay when you do a "psync", and also enjoyed some of the humor, things I didn't liked would be again some of the humor, and that the game seems to be unnecessary long.
  14. Sounds like a challenge, time to level up I guess The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle is a bit of a puzzle, you get some clues here and there, might be tempting to back track at times but not overly difficult to connect the dots and get the general picture of what happened, I'm sure there's stuff I'm missing but that's ok, fans seem to enjoy re-reading it in order to pick up more out of it.
  15. Definitely, I loved how you gradually become fluent and eventually you surprise yourself going though all the slang as if it was nothing
  16. Thanks! Had all these classics lined up in my backlog for a very long time, will definitely pick up Animal Farm as a friend of mine has also recommended it, have some more Hemingway short novels so might read those as well, can't recommend enough The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle, I'll have to pick up Kafka on the Shore now.
  17. Got back into reading a few months ago and I've finished a few books so far: Shock Value by John Waters, it's his autobiography, really fun to read, the guy is hilarious, just like his movies. A Clockwork Orange by Anthony Burgess, had tried to read it some years ago and quit due to the nadsat language after about 2-3 chapters in, this time I was committed, it was difficult to read maybe for the first 5 chapters or so (had to constantly use the included mini dictionary), eventually I got used to it and it was smooth sailing and it was a great read, didn't get bored at any time, and appreciated all the extra details in the story that didn't make it in the film. The Old Man and the Sea y Hemingway, short novel so I went quickly though it, didn't knew what to expect but it was quite good, I might read something else from Hemingway someday. 1984 by George Orwell, I enjoyed it overall, but honestly I found some parts of the story a little boring, maybe I didn't click all too well with Orwell writing stye, but anyways this is a great story and really enjoyed the ending. The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle by Haruki Murakami, had the book for a few years now, having read a couple of Murakami other novels (Norwegian Wood and Hard-Boiled Wonderland and the End of the World) I wasn't really sure what was all the hype about, well, in retrospect I should've read this one first, it was everything I had hope it would be and more, magical realism, surreal, Kafkaesque at times, it's a very pleasant read, all major characters are fantastic, the story moves slowly (hardly anything happens for long periods) but near the end it throws a lot at you, I had to go back and re-read a few chapters to have a better grasp of what was going on. This is surely one of the books I've enjoyed the most in my life.
  18. New album by Alvvays, I had high hopes for this one and man it did not disappoint, it's their best record so far!
  19. Awesome purchase! North American Duos are really difficult to come by, let alone with the original controller and HU card door. Of you tested CD games and they ran without any issues then most likely the capacitors (that's the caps they're talking about) have been replaced already, of you want to check you can put in an audio CD and it should play smoothly and you should be able to hear both left and right audio channels, alternatively you can download the 240p suite for TG16 Super CD-ROM and burn the image in a CD-R, the Duo should be able to play it, it has a series of sound tests and you should be able to determine if everything is working correctly: https://artemiourbina.itch.io/240p-test-suite
  20. There's https://howlongtobeat.com/ I tend to look up games I'm interested in playing and definitely helps me when deciding what to play.
  21. NES: Asked my parents for it solely on the idea of playing Legend of Zelda. Gameboy: Super Mario Land. SNES: Pretty much on board since it was announced but being able to play Street Fighter 2 at home seemed a dream come true. PlayStation: Final Fantasy 7 (and knowing Squaresoft was now going to develop games for the PS). PSP: Honestly being able to use emulators, seldom played any PSP games. Wii U: Got one to play Breath of the Wild. Other consoles I own didn't get them to play a specific game.
  22. Hard to say, definitely SNES era, we didn't rent as much SNES compared to the NES but I remember a handful of rentals, rented Sim City at least a couple of times, probably Pilotwings, Romance of the Three Kingdoms 2 for some reason, Chavez boxing (obviously we had to check it out), some other time we rented Super Metroid, and probably our last rental was Super Mario RPG, I'm likely forgetting about some other rentals and my brothers probably kept renting, but personally I gave up renting because it became really difficult to rent super popular games like Mortal Kombat 2/3 and Killer Instinct, they were just never available at the height of the fighting game craze.
  23. 10/10 best Lynch movie and my favorite of all time, easily you can rewatch this one time and time again and still get something out of it, not many movies can do that!
