  1. I'd say over 95% of the time I'm just listening to music alone, I'll just turn on the autoplay based on an artist or album and listen to whatever the algorithm suggests, if I like something I take note and listen to that album, sometimes I'd google the song I liked to see if it has a video but it's more of a bonus for me. There are some cases though when I've enjoyed new music by watching videos with friends or clicking on youtube suggestions.
  2. I'm about 30 hours myself but playing the New 3DS version, never got around to play it on the Wii and so far so good but I've felt a bit overwhelmed at times with all the different mechanics and other things going on.
  3. Not sure where tu put this topic so mods feel free to move it (maybe we need a hardware forum?). MyLifeInGaming is releasing this documentary series, they've released 2 parts now out of 5 and it's great so far:
  4. There's a chance that the animation studio messed up the colors of certain things, I remember a video (could be an article but not sure) where they would explain that originally in The Simpsons there were some bananas colored brown because the animators in the South Korean animation studio weren't familiar with yellow bananas. Digging around for some info I found out that the same studio provided animation for TMNT as well: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AKOM
  5. I've always loved green olives since I was a kid and for me black olives are near flavorless, I got used to the bitterness kick and don't really get that from black olives, the bitterness kick might be the reason you dislike them so it might be better for you to try some semi-ripe olives first and see how that goes.
  6. In general my preference is for thin crust, for the ingredients I'd eat just about any common combination out there but I'd lean towards meat lovers pizza, for single ingredient pizza I'd have green olives. Lately we've been making our own pizza at home, we make one standard pepperoni for our kids and for my wife and myself we've settled for tomato slices, basil, green olives, goat cheese and serrano ham (very similar to prosciutto),
  7. Found it, it’s called Turborip: https://www.ysutopia.net/forums/index.php?topic=69.0 Full instructions on how to patch the game once ripped with TurboRip: https://ia902809.us.archive.org/view_archive.php?archive=/6/items/YsIVEnglishDubV1.1/Ys IV English Dub v1.1.zip&file=readme.html
  8. Sorry I don’t remember exactly about it, ISO/WAV/CUE means the format in which the game must be ripped (basically separating audio tracks from the data tracks), there was a command line utility to rip to rip Turbografx/PC Engine CD games let me see if I can find it.
  9. I'm pretty sure I used this one, there's a link in the description to the actual patch: https://www.romhacking.net/translations/1752/
  10. I voted 10, honestly didn't expect to enjoy it that much but it exceeded all my expectations, best aspect was the exploration, a feeling of freedom, never before in a game I've had this urge to explore everywhere. So after finishing BotW I haven't played anything that feels remotely similar, maybe Xenoblade Chronicles but I just picked it up and a couple of hours in I'm beginning to wonder if I should stick to it (world hasn't blown open yet). What alternatives are there that offer a similar experience to BotW?
  11. I live in Mexico so things were a bit different but not that much, due to an sporting event I know exactly around when my parents signed up for cable TV, we got it because my parents wanted to watch Julio César Chávez vs. Meldrick Taylor fight (March 17, 1990) and the cable TV company was going to broadcast this PPV for free so tons of people signed up, don't remember much of what we had but The Disney Channel was most likely a "basic" channel at least during the mid-late 90s, HBO was premium and you'd need a converter to get any of the premium channels which we never did, Cinemax might've been in the basic package too, there were other premium channels as well mostly focused on recent movies and PPV.
  12. SP were always changing their sound, on Gish and Siamese Dream (and Pisces Iscariot) it was more or less consistent "grunge/post-grunge" sound, Butch Vig was in the production at the time so I guess that contributed to that, starting from MCIS every album had it's own distinctive feel to it almost as if it were a different band, and I enjoyed every single one of them until Zeitgeist, which I did enjoy at first and the following tour gave me the opportunity to see them live a total of 3 times (one in Dallas, one in Mexico City and finally in my hometown) in retrospective I sort of lived my teenage fantasy of attending an SP concert but I guess I moved on after that. I've casually listened to some of the newer stuff and I've been surprised at times at how nice some songs are (just listened to Panopticon and it's very nice), last year I got to listen to Shiny And Oh So Bright and it was pretty decent but didn't feel like putting any of those songs on my playlist, in fact the SP section on my playlist has been shrinking for the last 10-12 years to the point now it only has songs from '91-'95. Out of all post-90's pumpkins I enjoyed Machina the most but aside from that I liked Billy Corgan solo project, the song Walking Shade was a good one and the rest of the album was decent (although my memory is fuzzy), I appreciated that he wasn't trying to sound like the Pumpkins and he might've gone in an interesting path if he continued solo. Anyways it's nice that he's still doing music as "SP", still touring and willing to play classics like this one:
  13. Smashing Pumpkins was my favorite band for the longest time and Siamese Dream tops my all time favorite albums list, would've given a 10 but I just can't stand the SP2 era (2006-present). Here's an amazing concert from the Siamese Dream tour:
  14. I've been obsessed with this track lately, it would've fit nicely in MTV's 120 Minutes during the late 80s/early 90s.
  15. There might be a small market but I'd imagine it wouldn't be big, especially if the console in question can be jailbroken to allow installation of such games, and so far no console has proven to be unhackable, so although illegal to do so that would be much more practical than hunting down a console that has the specific game you want. There could be exceptions as noted by others like undumped stuff, prototypes, unreleased games, dev buids, etc., that's a very specific case, there's another that comes to mind and it's the console called Zeebo, the console games were digital only and it had a Double Dragon game that is sought after, since the console is not easily hackable people hunt down consoles with the game already installed.
  16. Wow @Tabonga I have a lot to check out, thank you I'll try to listen as much as I can today.
  17. @Tabonga Just listened to Tangerine Dream's Ricochet and it's fantastic! Thanks for sharing, I'll definitively revisit this album/song again, I had listened to Tangerine Dream before but only one or two albums, any recommendations on what to try next? I'll check out the Khan album and anything else you'd recommend next week, I'm off the computer for the weekend, thanks again
  18. @TabongaNice choices, I'm kind of into krautrock myself, classic kraut is a bit hard to chew at times for me, mostly I limit myself to some of the most popular bands, NEU!, Kraftwerk, and Can, so it's good to hear some others. There are also some modern rock bands that incorporate krautrock elements in their music and I'm a big sucker for that, this one is a good example:
  19. Looking good! What are your plans for the screen? I've found that it's a bit challenging getting CRTs, you can secure a tube from an old TV but then you need compatible chassis, at least there are these universal chassis you can get online.
  20. Today I found out about this awesome French band, too bad they don't seem to be active anymore
  21. I've only seen like 1/5th of it, might watch it by myself one of these days. Donnie Darko is good, I wish it had better acting, it would be a killer movie otherwise, story is a little weird but in a good way, setting is fantastic and music as well, it's just the acting that I find very cheesy at times. Since you got me thinking about movies with surreal elements I nominate my favorite, Mulholland Dr.
  22. So recently I decided to charge up my PSP to see what I had in there, and ended up loading my ~50 hour Final Fantasy 8 save file and it has been probably about 8 years since I last played it, now this is the 2nd time I've tried to play it though and I'm considering picking it up once I'm done with the games I'm currently playing. Most of us who play RPGs have gone though this dilemma in one way or another, with shorter breaks usually you can jump back in with little or no trouble, but with longer than maybe 1 year things get cloudy, let alone after 8 in my case if I start over it's practically a new game experience since I've forgotten just about everything, then again thinking about pouring ~50 hours into it just to get where I was already seems pretty wasteful and of course time to play is scarce. Thinking outside the box I began looking in Youtube of an "abridged" video and I learnt that these types of videos are basically a parody, but found a "Final Fantasy VIII Movie" which seems to be a playthough skipping all battles and seems to stick to the main plot so no pointless running around exploring, so I guess I'm lucky to have this option if I ever decide to pick it up again. Also I'm in a break from Radiant Historia since I've been playing mostly Breath of the Wild with my oldest daughter, it's been a few months but I think I can get back to it with without too many difficulties. How does everyone deal with getting back from a break in RPGs? Especially long breaks, do you force yourself back into it or simply consider it a lost cause and start over? Maybe with the help of youtube for major plot events and maybe a big text walkthrough to read all about quests and locations you could get back on track in no time.
