What's new in your collection/Pick-up Thread !!!

Went to a local game store today to splurge using my fantasy football payouts from this season as well as a lot of games/systems for trading in.  Found Shockman, never thought I'd own that.  Also found Buster Brothers and Blaster Master Enemy Below.  After using my winnings and trade-in, this was essentially free.  I'm a small step closer towards getting the Turbografx and Gameboy sets!

I already had issues 1 and 4 of NP Advance but finally got nice copies of 3 and 4 to complete the set. Also got issues 6, 9, 10, and 15, of Pocket Games. All came from ebay for around $15 each.

These were pick ups over BF and Christmas from GameStop. I really like the launch editions that Sega's been doing with the art book and sleeve, like Sonic Mania Plus, so I got Monkey Ball for $20, MP Superstars and Pokemon Snap were B2G1 so ~$40 each, and Cris Tales was $15. Lastly I picked up a copy of XC2: Torna for $65 off eBay.

Received a Parcel from a friend containing a few Sega items:

acadapters.jpg.68bc71f5d14c1f7f8e80b70d3de37396.jpg

My friend gave me a Sega Master System and several games for it last month. However, he gave me the incorrect AC Adapter so he sent me these ones. The one on the left looks like it is for NES, but I'm not sure. I connected it to the Master System and it fit, but the console wouldn't turn on. The AC Adapter on the right is a Universal Adapter that the label says is for NES, SNES, and "Mega Drive II". I was a little worried, since model 2 Genesis AC Adapters don't fit in the Master System's port, but plugged it in and powered it on. It works.

My friend also sent a Dreamcast Web Browser disc and the September 2000 Vol. 7 Magazine demo disc:

Now that I have an AC Adapter that I can use with the Master System, I can confirm that both the console and the games work:

I like the Snail Maze game that is built into the console.

I actually played the Master System version of Double Dragon with my friend a few years ago (video on my YouTube channel), and we made it to the last level. Little did I know that he would eventually give it and the rest of his Master System collection to me.

After playing Rad Racer for over 30 years, it's nice to finally play the game that inspired it.

My friend included the Phaser when he gave me the Master System last month. I'm ready to play Sega's version of Duck Hunt.

Am thinking about grabbing SMS Shinobi. I really like the Genesis and Saturn games. The reviews I saw weren't great though. Have you had a chance to play?

Haven't had a chance to play it yet. It's probably better than the unlicensed NES version I remember seeing over a decade ago. Which wouldn't surprise me.

I played the SMS version for about 20 minutes and it seemed decent. If you need a copy, I think I have an extra.

Japanese release of Clockwork Aquario.  This is the game that was almost lost forever.  It's an arcade game that was made by Westone in the early 90's.  The test machines were lost or destroyed and the only remaining copy of the game was on disks stored in Ryuichi Nishizawa's archives.  It probably wouldn't ever have been seen again if HG101 hadn't asked him about it in an interview five years ago.  The game was eventually picked up by Strictly Limited Games and eventually pieced back together by Inin Games and Steve Snake.

It's a pretty amazing story, and Clockwork Aquario now even holds the record for longest game in development.

Alright - let me know. I could use Rastan also if you've got a duplicate.

Send me a DM as a reminder and I'll try to look through my stuff this weekend.

Very cool story, but how is the game?

SLG = ININ both are puppets owned by one larger company in the shadows.  All the more reason why SLG is kind of sleazy in their pre-pay tactics having you wait forever for a game that doesn't insta-sellout, because they'll just have ININ sell it anyway on amazon. 🙂

Well I got myself a new system of sorts here didn't I?  Evercade, UK version Funstock sold, the Mega Pack with carts 1-10, and the official carry case.  Interestingly enough, got it from a seller in Ohio who ended up with a christmas snafu that had 2 copies of it all from gifting so I grabbed it.  So far I'm really digging it, quality piece of handheld here, and the game collation for the packs is pretty nice.  Already discovered a few games I hadn't played or even heard of before I liked.  I think quite highly of what the Evercade company has done with their same named game player here.  It doesn't cost much, and the games center around being $20-25 a piece and depending on the cart usually they range from 6-20 games on each.  I'm surprised we don't have a thread for this thing really, plenty of relatable games.

Here is my last purchase. My ongoing collector goal of collecting every single Castlevania release.

Nice! What's your favorite in the series? SotN is easily my number one and it gets tough to decide after that. Maybe one of the GBA games. I still haven't played the Lords of Shadow games.

A few pickups for me over the past couple weeks. After finally grabbing Motocross Championship, I just need the box for Virtua Fighter to complete my 32X collection. SMS and Sega Saturn are also getting down to the nitty gritty thanks to a couple tough Sega Card finds and this nice copy of Radical Rex from my good friend, @Mr. CIB

WGDjG5g.jpg

Lastly, just a smattering of cheap Xbox games. The only one I'm really interested in playing is Kingdoms of Amalur, but it's about as far down the list as it gets.

Hard to decide on an all time favorite CV game. So I will just say the "fresh in the mind" favorite, Order of Ecclesia for DS. I just loved the traveling around and the town Hub. Btw  Awesome pickup on Rex, I still need that one!

Not going to do an image on this as it's basic.

Today my other package arrived so now I got Evercade Cartridges #13 and #14 -- Atari Lynx Collection 1 and 2 which are a nice choice of 25 games to mess with.

It has been a long time, but what a flash back kind of hit in a related sense, the sense of smell.  It has been ages since I cracked open a new cartridge based game where you get that very notable smell blended mix of freshly printed/cut paper from the manual with the plastic of the case.  It's a nice moment.
