  1. I cleaned a Super Mario World and Mega Man 7 cart a while back and accidentally switched the boards. I didn't realize until months later when I went to sell MM7 and booted it up and the damn 'Nintendo' logo came up with the coin sound fx. I knew immediately what had happened. The worst part about it is I made a big lot deal months before with a reseller and, I swear once everything was settled, I just threw an extra copy of SMW and a few other junk games as I was trying to get rid of stuff. That copy of SMW was the one with the MM7 board in it. On top of that, it was pretty much the only time I had ever fully opened a few games just to clean them. Lesson learned. I messaged the guy once I realized, and he said that he was super confused when he was testing out his games before selling. He had sold it shortly after though... so now I have a junk MM7 shell (torn label) with a SMW board in it. I've kept it around but will eventually likely just sell the shell at some point. If I were you, I'd sell the MMX3 shell then buy a really cheap game that MMX2 will fit in, rip the label off, and sell that separately.
  2. Been playing Wave Race 64 on Switch which also prompted me to boot it up on the 64. The water physics in this game are 2nd to none.. incredible achievement. There's also something very satisfying about bumping old records off second hand games in your collection. Sorry 'JAM'.
  3. Control/mechanics and rewarding challenge are what make a game for me. A game that handles well, lets you put your own style into playing, and allows you to grow and improve as a player are the biggest characteristics of some of my favourite games. Graphics, storyline, and all that really makes no difference to me within reason.
  4. Good game. A little tedious in spots when trying to 100% but some fun levels and interesting ideas. I didn't realize until much later that you can collect stars by getting a hit after a few egg ricochets. The last boss battle is phenomenal with the tunes and setting/mechanics. Very fun and rewarding.
  5. This 'Pocketsize' variant box of the DK Game&Watch is very rare in any shape. I got this at a local pawn shop 7 or 8 yrs ago and have only seen a few documented examples online and maybe one for sale in as many years. My guess is this should be worth around $1k +/- $250 but I think it could probably go for more to a big G&W collector that's yet to come across one. This is one of those items that's just really tough to find. I see the DK2 Pocketsize variant around sometimes (two on eBay now for $800-1000) but not this one.
  6. If it was the last game and it went on sale 1 or 2 times a year... probably wait. 1 or 2 times every 3-5 years... I'd buy it as a place holder.
  7. It's all downhill for a while imo.. still better to cash in now as it'll be some time, if ever, that the big hitters (Zelda, Mario, Sonic) see these values again. This wasn't a bubble as much as con-job that's gradually being exposed.
  8. This happened a while ago in my opinion and was even worse a few years ago. Things started to become stale in 2015ish once it was common knowledge that games were worth a good amount of money. There might be less inventory overall these days but I find it is easier to find rare games if you're willing to pay the price where a number of years ago they'd be hard to find at all.
  9. I guess someone was modding the game and discovered that you can play against any character if you hold Y+R on player 2 controller and then press A or START on player 1. It works!!... just did it on my SNES with original hardware. On top of that... if player 2 holds Y+B on this special character select screen and then player 1 selects an opponent, player 2 holds those buttons until the timer in the fight starts THEY CONTROL THE OPPONENT.. Macho Man, Mad Clown... anyone... so cool for a game I played so much and never knew.
  10. Mega Man Legacy Collection with gold amiibo. Other games with amiibo pack-ins but I can't think of ones exclusive to the game as most could be bought separately. Wind Waker HD and also Majora's Mask 3D came with figures.
  11. Mega Man on NES is an easy 9. Still play it regularly.
  12. I played these back to back to back over a few weeks. Pretty much what the others have said about 1 having a few issues, 2 improving on those and then 3 just being there. Playing them so close together probably took away from the 3rd as I was pretty burnt out from the series by that point. I'll likely go through the 2nd again at some point.
  13. 1. Quit my job and throw enough doe to the side to never think about it again. 2. Build an accessible house for my disabled siblings. 3. Donate a shit ton to animal shelters and other worthy causes. 4. Buy a plane and get my pilot license?
  14. Don't feel like you have to go absolutely nuts with displaying everything. I did that and ending up scaling way back because I personally felt like it was impeding on the usefulness of the space and it was visually overbearing. To each their own, but the floor to ceiling, video store display setup didn't do it for me. Now I just have two Billy Ikea shelves with all my CIB stuff and a few things on display on the side. You have a really nice space there.. looking forward to seeing the progress. Make sure you leave lots of space to chill and play!
  15. I found it tough to keep consistency, especially if you play a wide variety of games or anything that's not new/popular. I used to post back in the early-mid Wii U days but gaming commentary videos were already dead in the water by that point, so it was short lived. It would be tough to break through these days and I doubt I would want to 'play the game' to get views with click-bait titles, targeting your videos at 5-12 yr old kids, and brown-nosing all other creators. As Reed said, you pretty much have to do it for yourself and just hope you find some kind of audience to keep you motivated.
  16. Yeah, I'd agree to that as of late. I did enjoy 8 on Wii U with the fire hopping... Felt like skill was put back into the game like Super Mario Kart. I played a ton of 64 but it's tough to go back to these days but still play SMK a lot.
  17. This would be my answer as well. A nice 'safe' entry into the series. Nothing special but also nothing too risky or wrong with it in my opinion.
  18. Super Metroid is likely the best example I can think of off the top of my head. I like the Prime series and some of the GB games to an extent but with Super Metroid likely being my favourite game of all time and never really giving any of the others a 2nd thought after completion I think it's a fair answer. I have not played Dread yet.
  19. Maybe like a 4. A cool and unique concept but the gameplay kinda blows.
  20. I use the auto decline feature typically set around 60-70% but will often accept my lowest set OBO depending on the item. If I got the item for cheap I am much more inclined to just let it go. Having said that, people will still regularly hit the BIN instead of sending me an offer which seems really strange since I will almost always take off something.
  21. In my experience the board naturally rolls to the toe side as you typically turn that way and give more weight to that side over time, so ride with your back to the street. A good way to tell is just kick the board in front of you without getting on it and see which way it drifts then ride on that side of the road. Also, you naturally give a bit more weight to the front side of the board as you jump. But, yeah, a lot of times I got way too much speed, I just bail.. it's better to hit the ground on your terms haha. I only had my board hit a moving car a few times when it's gotten away from me and they've just kept going... one time it get decimated though and I was surprised the person didn't slow down to investigate. If you're on foot just go where a car can't if shit hits the fan.
  22. Also, if you're starting to gain an uncomfortable amount of speed it's often better to jump off the board and hit the ground running rather than trying to go one foot or tail-sliding/kick-turning to try and slow down etc. Good to practice your speed on a street with a bowl effect and then just keep going a little more up the high side of the street each time.
  23. I love skateboarding! I'm the cliche demographic of skateboarder who came around just as it got its 3rd(?) wind with THPS launching into orbit in the late 90s. I didn't skate much through my late 20s and it showed when I stepped back on the board a few years ago for the first time in a while... mainly with a notable weight gain and significantly more sweating. I still get DOMS almost every time I go out lol... but I'm in questionable shape and drink. Best advice is get a board (and sneakers) that fits you with some decent bearings. Smooth rolling is everything from effort to push to ease of landing potential tricks. Truck tightness is also important as too tight and you have less control but too loose and you lose it the other way and promote speed wobbles (especially with smaller wheels). Get comfortable on the board by learning to cruise at moderate speeds and ollie (if that interests you) and skating becomes a lot more fun as getting around becomes easier. Learning to fall is also good advice.. tuck and roll. Flat shoes/sneakers work best for me but styles have definitely changed over the years. Some of my best memories are throwing on my mp3 player and finding a quiet corner in the city to skate. Great exercise too! I still keep a pair of sneakers and my board in the trunk of the car. Fall is the best season in Canada for skating for sure. I'm not online as much these days but any particular questions and I might be able to help you out.
  24. This game was hard to find new even when it was released. TRU was the only place I found it locally and they are few and far between in Canada. People laughed on NA when I told them to pick up a lot of these games at retail. Game & Wario, Turbo Stunt Squad, Tales of the Unwritten 2, Steam World collection, Rapala Bass Fishing, and Devil's 3rd all commanding pretty significant prices on sealed copies after going through some of the games that were a little harder to come by back then.
