Hadn't looked at the list in a long time. You are missing:

1Print Games: https://1printgames.com/

First Press Games: https://firstpressgames.com/

B-Side Games: https://b-sidegames.stores.jp/

Also physicality games, though they have not produced a game yet and may not with their current business model

->They only show two games, at least one of which has been published a number of times before. Will not add to list right now, will wait and see if they actually publish more.

First Press Games: https://firstpressgames.com/

->Might add them.

B-Side Games: https://b-sidegames.stores.jp/

->Sounds like they just put "packages" together and are not a game publisher. Don't feel they're appropriate for this list.

Thanks for the heads-up, keep me posted!

Makes me sad. I told them before the "relaunch" that their model wasn't going to work and even now I still don't think it will work. Doesn't help that the tins are a dumb idea on top of the bad business model. Making not-limited games with all the frustrations of a limited run publisher is just...

Worst part is Rolling Gunner is a game I really want and if it never happens I think it will mean the game doesn't get a physical release at all.

So Retro City Rampage was released back in 2012. It was an indie hit for sure. Then, 7 years later they released what is more or less the same game, Shakedown: Hawaii. Is Vblank like a one-man studio? Because, they really aren't doing much of anything. If this is just a "hobby" or "project" for someone, that's pretty cool. Otherwise, meh.

Yes Vblank is a one man studio. The guy (Brian) started working on RCR back in 2002! when it started as a demake of GTA for the NES. He even made his own tools to develop it for the NES hardware. He eventually bought along someone else to do art and then hired composers for the music but it's basically his thing.

I remember hearing about it back in the day because he had hired Jake Kaufman to do some of the music for it so it got some attention in the chiptune scene. I think I may even have a promotional copy of the original soundtrack somewhere in my CD collection... It's definitely a hobby / labor of love. If Brian has programmed all the ports then with the Wii U he will have ported RCR or SH to 14 different platforms. That's pretty crazy. I'm guessing the hype over the Switch release and selling it as a limited print game multiple times has made him enough money to keep working on it.

That is cool. I assume he has a "regular" job and this is just fun. Most of us would love to make a game someday, so I can definitely appreciate that and understand why Vblank hasn't really released other games.

Didn't know this. That's amazing dedication. I consider myself a pretty driven person, but that's a whole other level.

Their site is somewhat confusing - some of their stuff seems to exclusive while some of it is not (it states that in the description) - hard to tell for sure since they don't have many offerings.  I was looking for a copy of Kamiko  - they seem to be the only ones making it - unfortunately they won't ship overseas because of mail service disruption.  (I am still waiting on a copy of ittle dew from another source in Japan.)
