  1. 39,400 I think my batteries went caput shortly after stage 1. This was fun though!
  2. Alright I actually own this one, I'll try to get a score in!
  3. I haven't bought much in forever, but here's my little Famicom corner. Just some favorites whether it be artwork, gameplay, intrigue, etc. One JP exclusive franchise I think the west really missed out on was Dezaemon. I have the Famicom and SFC versions. It was basically a series of fully-featured shoot 'em up creation software produced up until the Saturn or PS1 I believe. The FC cart was quite expensive to produce so perhaps that's why they never made it outside of Japan. I'd like to try the Saturn version someday. How about Brazil, or Australia I think I got this from Indonesia... Remember these? Before we had Everdrives or Power Paks, we had multi-carts, lol. I guess you could call it an import, origin unknown.
  4. Yay, NES contest suggestions! Here are a few I suggest (mostly shmups) that I don't think have been done yet: TetraStar: The Fighter (FC) - An intense shmup with epic gameplay/music. Touhou Rououmu (NES/FC, Homebrew 2018) - It's an homage to the Touhou series (bullet-hell shooter), built from the ground up for Famicom/NES. It was released as a freely available ROM, so anyone can try it out. Quarth (FC) - It's like Tetris meets a shoot 'em up, by Konami. And I agree with Videomation making a comeback I see some other great games listed too. *Edited for spelling of Japanese title. Included link to developer's website.
  5. Awesome footage! Interesting seeing the game counselor use a Hands Free at the event. Also, it'd be pretty cool if someone found that ELMO software he was talking about!
  6. It's All About The Pentiums https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qpMvS1Q1sos
  7. Image Fight on PC Engine. Technically the first level begins after the 3rd level (the first three are considered training stages). However, the kicker is, if your hit ratio is below a certain threshold (90% iirc), you get sent to a punishment level! It literally looks like some guy just threw every sprite on screen at once, with lasers and homing missiles firing at you... I was considering resetting the game at this point, but I pushed onward and managed to clear it somehow. I eventually made it to the final stage but the game became very stale at that point. So, yeah, this is an introductory stage to the "real" levels of the game (if you miss the threshold). Brutal, lol.
  8. NES. It has Recca, Sqoon, Crisis Force, Battle Formula, Final Mission, Zombie Nation, Gun Nac, Dezaemon, even Touhou bullet hell (homebrew from 2018). So many original games on the system, I think it's still vastly overlooked in the shmup realm. The coolest thing about the C64 library was it had SEUCK (Shoot 'em Up Construction Kit), however the Famicom had their own shmup kit called Dezaemon.
  9. I'm pretty sure I've seen that same lightgun in a few NES collections. My memory could be wrong though. I think @Speedy_NES would know.
  10. Yeah it's an old R710. Power consumption can vary depending on the setup, though do note you also get a mini jet engine for your room! (they're quite loud). Assuming it still has the stuff in it. Just note the RAM is ECC and you can't swap it with a regular desktop.
  11. The "different language' bit is a default piece of text (lorem ipsum) commonly used for placeholders. At first I thought this was going to be a community where everyone discusses NES collecting by only speaking in obscure classical Latin. I'm disappointed!
  12. ^I was editing my post then saw you just posted same thing I was writing. So yeah, I guess that verifies it does exist ha.
  13. Nice list! I actually never knew of Terror of Tech Town, that game looks pretty cool. I have some of these original ads(Hellraiser, Play for Cash Color Dreams, and Crossbow AGCI). I think there was one more Hellraiser ad, but it was a pack-in in some Color Dreams releases. IIRC, Wally Bear had an ad in a local newspaper too when it was still being published by AGCI. Sqoon also was going to be published by Broderbund at one point. There was an ad somewhere, I think it was a pack-in.

I think my theme will be a bit of an ode to ye olden times pre-flash carts and emulation. *... ::mild sad face::
  15. I used to buy Carolina Reapers and Scorpions at my local farmers market by the bag. They have a nice flavor when slivered onto foods. I made the mistake once of trying to eat a whole one, my entire being was on fire for what felt like hours, pacing the floor lol. However, my favorite pepper is probably Fatali. I used to get them from the same farmers market. They're yellow and have a nice flavor, some describe it as citrus-y, with heat a step above habanero.
  16. Got Epic Pinball loaded into the pinball machine I built. Still need to tweak the resolution a bit to fit my odd aspect ratio (for DOS games). Anyway, here's a starter score! Epic Pinball Table: Super Android Mode: Standard (5 balls, normal angle) Score: 27,990,000 Hopefully the image is alright (the actual DOS/gameplay window begins about an inch under my username).
  17. This is awesome! I'll try to post some scores when I have time. Some great games here, I'd recommend Epic Pinball for DOS too
  18. Here's my vote so far for returning days: Challenge 1: Underrated Game Never Played Vocals Music That Gets You Pumped Challenge 2: Samples/Inspired Sega Exclusive From Last Decade My suggestions for new Challenge III days: Computer Game Music (anything pre-Steam) - This is a big category with lots of tunes and soundchips. We've had some responses so far, mainly C64 stuff, an Atari 8-bit or two, and some DOS (mainly DOOM). It'd be cool to have a day with just computer jams, there's a bunch of options ; ) Songs That Push System Hardware Limits (or music you think is impressive for the hardware) Christmas/Holiday/Winter theme
  19. Thanks again to @AverageOliver98 for putting together such an awesome series where we can share game music with others! 20. ^I had an issue trying to post my link for yesterday. After a bit of refreshing/wait I was able to post. Hope the upload feature works now so we can see these banners in all their embedded glory!
  21. Watched Bride of Frankenstein last night and Frankenstein a few days prior. Last year for Spooktober I watched a ton of silent movies and even went to a live score showing of Nosferatu (1922). Can't believe it's already almost Halloween. I need to catch up on more films this year, haha. *Edit* random aside/off-topic. Took me awhile to realize why I had a quote from Bill & Ted just appear under my username... 69th post. Good one @Gloves
  22. Ive had this cheap Costco chair for years now, not sure if they sell it anymore. I like the functionality/storage and compactness and it's pretty comfortable compared to some other chairs I've used. https://images.app.goo.gl/CbME2hEsg55AaLKU9
