  1. If there's an item in the newer mario kart games that behaves like the blue bubble, then they stole the idea from CTR. Through double dash, I can't recall an item that offered 100% protection, and only went away after blocking a strike. Also, mario kart had the jump boost mechanic added in mk64, but you couldn't initiate an actual extended boost by power sliding and properly timing button presses. Again, if that's been added to recent MK games, it was stolen from CTR.
  2. Reasons stated about the rubber band mechanic are why I wholeheartedly feel that Crash Team Racing (PS1) remains the single greatest kart game out there. Sure, it still has a degree of rubber banding, but if you're truly skilled you can acquire fruit to boost your green bubble item to blue (which means that it won't expire) and you can initiate slide boosts and jump boosts without any need for an item. There are also built in shortcuts on various levels that require skill to take. This puts experienced players at an advantage over those relying on dumb luck and the rubber band. So if running away from the pack is how you desire to play, you can do that. Or, if you choose to game the system, you can likewise hang around in 4th/5th and make your move on the final lap after stashing away the ideal item.
  3. Love that game! Much more fun co-op. Makes item management easier too
  4. Hahaha, I think I'm gonna sit this one out. I've got too much going on right now. I'll try to follow along ringside though!
  5. I've never read his work, but it sounds interesting. I'll keep an eye out for the name next time I'm in Halfprice Books. RIP
  6. ...... Well then... It seems as though you've just thought of everything, huh @Gloves
  7. Remember how the old site (I know, I know, it gets exhausting hearing about the old site) had Sqoon for site generated messages? Is it possible for the old Sage to be the icon for that sort of thing?
  8. I guess it would be Mega Man X3. But it wasn't nearly as expensive then (when I played it years back) as it is now.
  9. Man, I did sink a lot of time into making burgers and salting pickles. lol Good call on that one
  10. I think G-type is under hypnosis right now, and his handler wants us to believe it's fake.
  11. Here's my top 10 (Alphabetical) Duck Tales 2 (Better than 1) Final Fantasy Adventure Kirby's Dreamland (The) Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening Metroid II: Return of Samus Pokemon Red/Blue (either of them) Super Mario Land Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins Tetris Wario Land: Super Mario Land 3 Honorable Mentions to: Donkey Kong Gargoyle's Quest Kirby's Pinball Land Tail Gator
  12. Maybe just for a quick hit of nostalgia, but the OG isn't fun to play on (after experiencing the far better options available). If you want to just play all the way thru a game, I'd say just use the Super GameBoy. Save your eyes and your hands.
  13. You weren't there. You didn't see the size of that butterfly.... you wouldn't understand.
  14. Only 2 episodes remain. If the current arc remains open (which would be extremely frustrating) then it will have to be resolved next season. I see what you're saying, and yeah he did read the guy.... But he was also immediately apprehensive upon learning that a lifeform was on board. (Implying that he wasn't game to kill anyone from the start)
  15. I enjoyed playing it back when I picked it up years ago. But like others said, Alpha 3 was ported on the very next gen of consoles and people jumped on that.
  16. Brees was nearly flawless tonight. What a performance.
  17. Nah, I like to use them. But in SMB3, I always had a hard time deciding when to use the cloud and the music boxes. I never have decided on when the best time to use them is... The star, on the other hand, I use for all hammer bro battles. (Which usually yields another star)
  18. Are the RPG's counted as spinoffs? If we're just counting the main series, I think I've played 10 of them? SMB 1 SMB 2 SMB 3 SMW SMW 2 SML SML 2 SM64 SMG NSMB Super Mario World remains my all-time favorite.
  19. I do nothing. And it's beginning to show...
  20. He had no problem killing imperial troopers or guild members that were out to kill him. But We haven't seen him kill anyone who wasn't a mortal threat to this point. I think the fact that the guard was New Republic aligned is why he didn't want to kill him. I thought the same about him locking up the others who double crossed him. He should have killed each of them.
