  1. My goal for the year is to continue buying PS4 and PS5 games that I'm interested in playing while resisting the temptation to sell out my older stuff. Lol
  2. Apparently it's really short, so after 5 hrs, you may have been close to beating it. Lol I absolutely abhor their control decision to make the left stick responsible for acceleration and deceleration. I tried to get used to it, but it's dumb. I'm partial to the layout of Ace Combat, with L2 and R2 being responsible for speed. Anyway, Squadrons really didn't grab me either, but I'll probably play the occasional mission or 2 per sitting until it's done.
  3. Finished Spiderman -Miles Morales and started up 3 different games to decide which I really wanted to tackle. The 3 I played intro stages to were Batman: Arkham Knight, Star Wars Squadrons, and Shadow of the Tomb Raider. Decided to go with Tomb Raider and play the others later. Currently just past 37% through it. Man are there a ton of things to find and explore in this one.
  4. $100 ain't bad at all. What kind of battery life are you experiencing? (if you don't mind my asking)
  5. Oh, I'm aware. I just always see or hear adoration for the 2 games I mentioned, and I can't figure out why. SoR2 is a fun game, it doesn't confuse me when I see praise for it. lol
  6. Also, I just wanted to throw in here, Altered Beast is trash and Golden Axe is boring
  7. Gave it a 7. I was a SNES kid. I didn't have many opportunities to play the Genesis growing up, just once in awhile at a friend's house. I never have liked the 3 button boomarang. Not the feel of it, or the fact that it was so restrictive in input options. The 6 button is much better, but still not as good as the standard SNES controller.
  8. My first was Jak & Daxter HD for PS3. My most recent is Spiderman: Miles Morales on PS5. I believe I have 6 total Platinums. The most difficult (by far) being Tiger Woods 2012: At the Masters on PS3
  9. I also wanna give a shout out to Sonic CD. I think that may be the only Sega CD game that I've ever beaten. lol
  10. I've been having a lot of fun with Mania, but I must say that I really liked Generations. I think that might be my favorite.
  11. It is worth a watch if you appreciate the 90's action film style. It's not one of the greatest films of all time or anything though, so don't expect that level of entertainment.
  12. Gave it a 7, and that might be generous. I just get bored during parts of it.
  13. Running thru Miles Morales on PS5 a second time to get the platinum trophy. I don't know why I want those damn things, but it never fails that I'll go for them.
  14. Paradise City is one of the most obnoxious songs ever created, but hey at least it's repetitive.
  15. Prequels. They have their quirks, but they at least tell a cohesive story. The Sequels are a smattering of feces on the inner walls of a chimpanzee enclosure.
  16. Amiibos. Really glad to have zero interest in those things I'm also not big into the online death-match fad, or sports titles. While i do enjoy sports games, I don't feel COMPELLED to buy each yearly entry.
  17. Oh, they're definitely better. I'm not sure if the additional mechanics of AM2R could feasibly be incorporated on the SNES or not, but I didn't feel the need to qualify it in my statement as "near perfect for a SNES game" lol Also, if you read back a couple post ago, I also said I didn't bother to learn the wall jump in the pit either. I didn't get it down until I started playing hacks. The casual comment wasn't meant as a slight. I simply meant a better map design would be to offer a positive incentive for learning it rather than holding the player hostage until they do.
  18. I agree, if I were to advise the designers today, I'd suggest an optional route for the player to use the wall jump in order to reach an energy tank. Completionists would be compelled to learn the mechanic, and casuals would be able to advance and finish the game without it (and without feeling trapped by the map). Worth saying though, that the game is near perfect, and the few gripes (like this one) aren't really that big of an issue.
  19. Bought a Gamecube from Goodwill once that had a Spongebob game in it. Not really my cup of tea, but hey.
  20. I want to love it, but I can only like it. lol I guess I messed up by playing much later series entries before getting around to this one. That said, it's not a bad game by any means, but it just feels so sluggish and stiff to me. Like you're walking through mud the entire time with lead weights around your waist.
  21. I feel your pain, and agree with you about that area of the map. I never really learned the technique as a kid, I just used the series of ledges on the side to escape the pit. Later in life, I started trying out the various hacks for Super Metroid (just because I was hungry for more content with that game), and the wall jump is something that was commonly built into level designs. In that way it was basically an entry barrier to be overcome. I'm by no means an expert at it now, but I can do it pretty consistently if I need to.
  22. That game is SO close to being a great game. It's definitely good, but something about the movement just doesn't feel quite tight enough. The later levels definitely have some challenge to them, and the environments are all neat.
