  1. I never used power grips, though I’ve known for years people with bigger hands love them. I was always was perfectly fine with the original dogbones. That being said, I added grips to my Switch and I’ll never go back. I only use it in handheld mode (I’ve never docked it) and after like a week I thought I need to do something about how I hold the system. No brainer buy, definitely makes gaming more enjoyable.
  2. WATA is good for: - People who work for the company. - Their advisory board. - People directly affiliated with Heritage/ComicLink/GoCollect. - People who have sold for multiples of former “value” on HA and related sites. - People who have been part of a manipulative puff piece article as a buyer/seller/member related to the auction house responsible for the sale/WATA owners and advisors. Often the same person can fall into multiple groups in the above simultaneously. Seeing the “my first WATA submission” thread on NA shows how they handle a “typical” customer. They’re turn around tiers are a joke and their communication is worse. Been a ton of errors in listings on their games since their very short time grading, and obvious things like calling something a hang tab when there very obviously isn’t one present. Couldn’t be less impressed with the company personally. Would still consider using them as a profiteering service, but I’m not going to pretend that something like a beat to shit Attack of the Killer Tomatoes is a 4 figure game just because someone wants to spend that much on one.
  3. I got MM6 because it's often discussed in the "I can't believe Nintendo published it" conversations. There is also the "Capcom" version that is very hard to come by. Seems to show up in South America more often than anywhere else, but still nearly impossible to find. No idea of the origin of that one, but it forced me to remember that Capcom didn't distribute it for the general public.
  4. Went 4, but likely should have went lower in hindsight. Dookie was big in my formative years, but I hate all (I think literally) of there stuff after that and I can very barely listen to anything off of Dookie now. They did a cover of Hybrid Moments that is listenable I guess. That's about all I can say.
  5. 51, but super spike v'ball wouldn't register when I put it in. Tried it a bunch of different ways. Forgot some simple ones: 10-yard fight Golf Mach Rider Pinball Pro Wrestling Gumshoe Ice Hockey Thought Cobra Triangle and Snake Rattle and Roll were published by Rare, but got the sneaky MM6. I'm out of practice, but could have been worse.
  6. Part of me is happy that NA will be around. Though obviously we want this place to grow and thrive, I'd hate to see people associated with the various companies that (in my opinion) destroyed the culture of NA make their way over here to pump up their stuff on the sly. If NA stays around, maybe the WATA/various other companies crew will stay there and carve out their own niche without inundating this place with various non-sense. Not sure if the constant pumping caused others to lose interest in posting on the other site, but it was one of the main reasons I found myself posting and visiting less.
  7. Glad to see you make the move over to VGS! My MM2 proto is legitimately the only item I’ll likely never sell. Wouldn’t be interested in most 5 figure offers even if the “value” is far less. I’m getting buried with that one!
  8. Top Man, regardless of his excellent animation, renders MM3 unfit to be superior to MM2. I mean, he’s just a top... (half) kidding aside, I do like the slide mechanic, but I always thought rush was sorta forced and gimmicky. That being said, the only games I kept when I sold out were my MM games, so the whole series is worth noting for “great” games IMO.
  9. Mega Man 2, for so many reasons. I completed a loose licensed set years ago, and one of the reasons I wanted to do it was to see if the system offered a better game than MM2. A few hundred games and numerous hidden gems later... I found the answer to be “no”!
  10. Zero doubt about that. Still, wouldn’t that make the license even more expensive if nothing else? These should sell very well, but Disney should know that, right? I wonder if they’re paying some sort of per unit royalty or something. We should invite some of the iam8bit staff to VGS and see if they’d chat about some behind the scenes stuff.
  11. One of the many, many issues with the antique site. Once photobucket went premium, I had a very hard time uploading any sort of media. Excited for the many upgrades this place offers. Oh, and nice photo!
  12. The most surprising thing to me is the choice of games (from a cost to produce perspective). Both were staples of the 16 bit era, but how can they afford the licensing for A list Disney properties? Granted, I know nothing of how the process works to gain a license to things like this, but I’d have to imagine the cost to license something like The Lion King or Aladdin would be astronomical compared to like 99% of the Genesis or SNES library, no?
  13. The Dragon Quest VIII remake on the 3DS is easily the best JRPG I've ever played. I enjoyed Dragon Quest IX a ton as well, but I think people were more mixed on that than some others in the series. I bought a Switch like 2 years ago now hoping that they would port DQXI over. It was my first pre-order game ever, but unfortunately I haven't had time to try it out yet. New curriculum at school and family have taken up a ton of my time. Hoping to really dig into it around the new year.
  14. That train controller is nuts, I've never heard of that before. Very cool stuff.
  15. Took me way longer than I would have liked to log out of all the devices I had for NA, but I think I signed off on my last one sometime last night. I have no desire to log back on and I won't be checking in on the place if/when it updates. The people who created the site while I was there have left. The mods and admin team who worked endlessly to keep it afloat have left. I don't particularly like the new owners or the companies so many of the people behind the scenes are associated with, and all my friends for the most part are here. It's unfortunate that things went down the way they did, but what can you do? This is where I'll be staying exclusively and I'm perfectly happy with that.
  16. I always kept boxes in nearly any condition and looked to upgrade in the future. I was keeping record well before NA created their collection tool, so my place to store stuff was rfgeneration's collection tool. I'm sure other tools are far better now, but at the time it was perfect for my needs. The only time I wouldn't keep an item or box: It had live or dead bugs in it. Anything worth less than several hundred dollars would go directly in the trash at that point. I don't need bed bugs for a rotten Kickle Cubicle box. It had mold or fungus. Again, can't jeopardize my home for a box that's living. It smelled like piss or heavy cigarette smoke. No thanks, I'll wait for a better item. I've had two pinball machines that came from smoking households. I had to use an ozone generator and a bunch of deodorizers in a relatively closed space for weeks to get rid of the smell. They were both $5k+ in value, so I was willing to keep it in my garage and work out the smell, but if it were a toaster NES, that thing would have been in the dump.
  17. I played so much Battletoads as a kid sometimes I forget all the crazy stuff they put in that game. I remember being blown away the first time I faced the level one boss and it changed to his POV for the battle. That's something I've never seen before and honestly can't remember since.
  18. Yeah, there is a ton of cool integration for sheets. It's like excel but good lol. I've moved all my book keeping, a lot of my teacher work, etc. to drive and use sheets a ton. Just makes sharing and updating info super easy. It takes some messing around but it's worth the time.
  19. During the life of the NES, I also was blown away by Kirby's Adventure. Couldn't believe that game was possible on an NES. GunNac does some pretty crazy stuff that I think deserves consideration. A lot of the early shmups are trash and it does some great things. Though maybe not pushing the limits, I also thought games with huge sprites or characters were impressive. Jackie Chan's Action Kung-fu, boss battles in Totally Rad, and a lot of stuff in Bonk's Adventure were at the very least visually impressive, even if it didn't necessarily "push" the system.
  20. One thing to consider is that the new forum can easily integrate Google Sheets right in a post. If you maintain a list of FS items in sheets, you can just delete the original copy and paste job and put in a new one. Not perfect, but may save you some trouble in the future.
  21. One of Matt's favorite bands. I've seen them a few times and they always put on a great show. Only time I didn't like it was when they played at Mansfield at like 7 pm in the summer. Not quite as dark and gloomy when the sun is still out haha. Welcome to VGS AJ!
  22. Jimmy G is just a loner, we want him back in a few seasons. Seriously though, Niners are looking like a genuine threat, happy to see the kid do well personally.
  23. I'm on it!!! I thought to myself, "new forum, new Arthur", but that doesn't mean I have to drop the unbannable!
  24. x2! Seriously, happy to see the lights on and I'm excited to add to the conversation. Congrats on the launch folks!
  25. I was giving a super long test the other day and was all up to date on grading, planning, whatever. I didn't realize HP Lovecraft's stuff was all (apparently) in the public domain now, so I just re-read The Thing on the Doorstep. Not my favorite story of his, but definitely a fun read.
