  1. Yeah, it’s the only sealed game I kept. Love the game, love the art, love the vibe. Never intended to sell, but just haven’t done anything in the hobby for like a decade. Hope all is well brother.
  2. Been a while. Moved to a new house and found some of my old stuff collecting dust. VGA Gold 85+ sealed Totally Rad. Aside from a Heritage Auction in February, I'm not seeing many sealed copies floating around to comp.
  3. Exactly. Whether I get a 1099 from eBay or not, I've always been responsible for taxes on goods sold. It can be framed as a "97% threshold decrease"... in the responsibility of getting issued a 1099. It's a 0% change in any person's personal tax responsibility.
  4. Well what's the alternative? We sell stuff, we pay taxes. It sucks, but that's sorta been the deal for a very, very, very long time. I have a business. I sell stuff. I get taxed. I'm a school teacher. I make a salary. I get crushed in taxes. I don't *love* the system, but it's the current price of living in the US.
  5. Nothing changed except that it will be easier to get caught if you break the law. I'll report my taxes, accurately as I always have, and I won't change any of my behaviors. I get massive returns due to legal loopholes in real estate tax law, so I have absolutely no reason to try to cheat the system.
  6. I just watched Prince of Darkness again last night on Peacock. Not Carpenter's best work, but it's always been a favorite of mine. I really enjoy the mending of Science and Religion and some scenes are genuinely unnerving. If you're a Carpenter fan and haven't seen it, it's a must watch for sure.
  7. You know it's bad when people no longer try to deny obvious conflicts of interest and instead try to spin it as if it's something we should openly accept. "If anything, Jim Halperin has a wealth of experience in conflicts of interest and manipulation. If you think about it, this is more of a positive than a negative." Bananaland.
  8. All kidding aside, Deniz reached out to me and Matt December 4th 2017 to explore participating in WATA in various capacities. We never got further than that initial conversation. At the time, I really liked Deniz (I’m much more conflicted now as I truly see the company has being horribly unethical), and his pitch was solid. We just had way too much going on at the time with real estate, teaching, raising families, and owning a boxing club. Having seen where the company has gone and their methods to get there, I’m very happy with my decision to never participate in any capacity.
  9. I'm glad that Karl's platform has brought the information to a larger audience. I feel like I covered a lot of it back in 2019: Some of the defenses in that thread have aged comically bad. At the time, WATA hadn't started charging a percentage of "market value" when submitting a game to grade. Just another way they were able to greatly increase profits while manipulating the market.
  10. I’m just here for the popcorn. Hope you’re doing well bud, it’s been too long.
  11. Purchased multi-family #4 in October, gearing up to buy more by the spring. Everything is at least a million around here, but even with high prices and competitive market, you can get deals done if you know what you're doing. There will be some slowing down and a correction, but you won't see what happened in '08. It's a long conversation, but the lending that was happening during that time was very different than the lending you're dealing with today. Not worried about timing the market as the rent rolls cover the mortgage and then some. No vacancies or missed rent during all of Covid, and all my units are officially leased through 8/31/22 now. Not to mention the amortization, appreciation, depreciation, and other benefits. Nothing better than real estate.
  12. Rob posts over on Pinside every once in a while. I haven't spoken to him in years, but I hung out at his place once with a few other members back in the day (Limbofunk for sure, maybe SNESMaster? It's been a while). He's a good dude.
  13. Unlikely unless it's for a massive payday like his brother with Floyd. The problem is that Jake isn't terrible. He's a decent club boxer and low-level pro. He has no real adult responsibilities, unlimited financial resources, and can train with top pros all day long. Coupled with a reasonably high athletic ceiling and he's going to keep winning if he chooses the right opponents. He'll continue to cherry pick the right fight, each slightly more "credible" than the next (youtuber, pro athlete, pro fighter in Askren) until he creeps his way to a massive circus fight where he has potential to lose. I think the biggest mistake he could make is taking a relatively unknown up and comer like Tommy Fury (even with the short amateur career and minimal pro opposition) this early. If he fights someone like Woodley and gets slept, at least he can say that Tyron is a monster with serious accolades. I hate the brothers and the celebrity boxing circuit as a whole, but they're excellent at exploiting idiots to pay for their events.
  14. I’m willing to let it go for the right price, but everything else I’m actively just trying to get rid of. Most of it has been collecting dust for a decade.
  15. Bump! Added some stuff, removed sold stuff, started consolidating the first post using Google Photos to increase the number of pictures I can have uploaded. I'll continue to clean it up and add more items this week.
  16. I feel like I missed something. Are they just generating a 1099 at $600 instead of $20k in sales? If you report your income already (including ecommerce sales), does anything change? If that's the case, I don't see the big deal personally. I itemize my deductions and my taxes are complicated, so I don't fuck around with anything. If I ever get audited, all my income has always been reported.
  17. I spoke at length about some of this stuff here: It's a good read.
  18. Bump! EPROMs are sold, one GB dev cart sold, two TKEPROM boards sold, and the DD3 pre-production box has sold. Lots of interest on the Mario & Yoshi, but no concrete offers. I'm reluctantly open to trades for high end NES and SNES stuff, but cash is king. Very willing to work out a deal, and the more you buy the better the deal. Keep those offers coming!
  19. AOROM Paperwork Dated April 22 1991 and has a phone number of 305-932-9651. Can't remember where I got this. Ren and Stimpy Buckaroo$ $400 OBO Working last I checked like 10 years ago. Dev board lot: *** SOLD MARKED*** $125 each OBO Not much else to say. Milon's Secret Castle Famicom $300 OBO Working last I checked, again, many years ago. I think that's it for now. I know I have boxes of other junk, just need to dig it out.
  20. I have a ton of dev stuff I'm looking to unload and I'm open to offers. Matt and I have really shifted our attention toward our families and real estate (just bought another $1,000,000+ multi-family in October) and this shit has been collecting dust for a decade. I'm going to describe everything I can in as much detail as I can. This stuff hasn't been tested in forever and I don't have an NES or an EPROM programmer to do it if I wanted. Take everything at face value. Make a cash offer, please don't ask how much I want. I'm easy to deal with and want this stuff gone. Mega Man 2 Prototype: Link to Mega Man 2 photos Substantial text differences, not publicly dumped and never will be by me. Only considering MID Five Figure offers. I've turned down offers of $20k for context. What seems high now may be laughably small in a few months/years. It is what it is. Zelda Star Code CIB Link to photos of Copy $100 shipped in the US OBO Condition can be seen in photos. CIB NES Lot $350 shipped in the US OBO Link to CIB Lot Photos Jurassic Park $65 shipped in the US OBO Mega Man 4 $145 shipped in the US OBO Super Off-Road $30 shipped in the US OBO Super Mario Bros 2 $65 shipped in the US OBO Kung Fu $40 shipped in the US OBO Paperboy $35 shipped in the US OBO Pinball $25 shipped in the US OBO Ideally, I'd like to toss them in a large flat rate box and sell them together, but will consider offers on individual titles. RBI Baseball Prototype: Working last time I checked $500 shipped in the US OBO Very rare pre-Tengen "Atari" dev PCB. I've only seen one other like it, the Gauntlet proto on Ebay. 3 blank GB proto carts: ***SOLD MARKED*** $100 each shipped in the US OBO Would be good if you bought the chips as you can just pop Paperboy and Mousetrap Hotel right in. Super Talking Jeopardy NES proto Definitely not working. $600 shipped in the US OBO I have individual dumps of each of the EPROMs that I'll email to the buyer after the sale. The value in this one is in the board. It's an Atari PCB I've never seen before and I'm doubtful you'll ever find another like it. This one absolutely doesn't work. Programmed by David Wiebenson, this game was purchased with Kitty's Catch (unreleased), a licensed Tengen Tetris proto, and a group of many Tengen proto chips. John Smith Special Agent, Unreleased, Non-working $500 shipped in the US OBO Bought two of these directly from Howard Philips, I was unable to ever get this one to work.
  21. Second Moderna shot kicked my ass pretty good. Got it at 8 am yesterday, started feeling crumby around 7 pm. By 10 pm last night, I spiked a fever that topped out at 103 this morning. Aches, chills, the whole deal. Started to turn a corner around 4 pm today. No fever but still feel like garbage. Very happy to be vaccinated, but that wasn't the least bit enjoyable.
  22. I have some stuff still (Mega Man 2 with major text differences being my favorite) and a few dozen loose chips of some nice stuff, but I haven’t actively tracked stuff down in a while. I just bought my 4th multifamily house in Boston, I teach full time, own a small business, and have a daughter who is almost 3, so I don’t really have the time. I sent Frank a few hundred ROMs a while back with some of the stuff I had accumulated with my brother, but haven’t done much since. The Madden proto is/was owned by a member of this forum. They might have bought it from Dream but I can’t remember. It is 3-4 static images that cycle, zero user interaction in any capacity. Appears more of a proof of concept than anything else. I dumped it for the owner and sent the game back, but the ROM isn’t out there publicly. The game started development to some degree though, so you’re safe to call it having a confirmed prototype in a collector’s hands, even if the cartridge is more of an ad then a demo/proto.
