  1. The purpose is to get correct output with code that is not a trainwreck. Micro optimizing to eliminate mod ops is counterproductive for the original exercise. Your answer works but I'd be wary of your approach as it sacrifices clarity. Ok, make it work for all ints 1 to 1000. Or scalable for any arbitrary range. One missing requirement from the original problem was to print the integer if it wasnt any of the other cases. Its not much tougher but does require awareness of meeting none of the explicit conditions.
  2. I think i did have to answer it for one interview but i dont remember exactly, maybe 7 years ago. The original purpose of the question was to have a potential candidate actually write code and build/execute it to prove they could. IIRC it was created in response to receiving hundreds of applications from people who literally could not write even the most basic code. Its not supposed to be tricky and its not looking for overly clever answers. Its low pressure on purpose. The only goal was to filter out people who had no business applying for a programming position. Of course nerds pick up on it and try to prove to each other how smart they which is why its gained so much traction online. And then who knows how it gets filtered through management types before winding up in an interview.
  3. Its not a noteworthy title, there are existing dumps, and its likely a very incomplete translation. I would guess $200-300 as there's nothing to demand a premium.
  4. Is it a good deal? Can you afford to wait for the next one? There's not much risk in going for it, just be prepared for the hassle of returning it. And if its pal and he gives you a hard time about a return you can always open a case for not as described and get all your money back
  5. Yeah its weird the printing is missing but everything else looks ok. I'd say you're fine.
  6. i know the people involved and nobody is living large while asking for help. it's a tough situation for everyone involved and they're doing what they can. if you're not in a position to contribute that's fine, but I don't think it's necessary to shame them.
  7. Man biden looks worse every time i catch a video of him. Like there's a real chance he doesn't make it to the election right? Cant imagine him trying to debate trump in that condition.
  8. bump made some changes to attempt to find missing conversations. every conversation has an id. most of mine are in sequential order. so, if i'm going to an inbox page that doesn't load, i can start checking in order from the point of the last known conversation and see if the id turns up a good hit for me. i can find a bunch for myself this way, out of like 5 pages that don't load. some conversations have id's way out. what i think happened is when gc imported all the inboxes, they went user by user, maybe in order users joined NA, and created a new id for each conversation that user was in (that hadn't already been seen while processing another user). I joined 2008, which is relatively early. if you joined years later, most of your conversations may have been processed under the other parties' names, so this will be less effective. but it's the best i can manage right now. link now points to the newer version, just download and replace. the whole history gets downloaded again, so you don't need an existing xml file if you already did it. let me know how it works.
  9. that's not available anywhere right? it seems like they pulled the bare minimum out of the old forum into the new one. other than pm's i think the forum posts themselves are the only available info.
  10. howdy i wrote a mess of a little thing to pull your inbox messages from the gocollect forum. download here or find the link on the FRANK'S NES PATCHES page (use an adblocker please) it's a windows app. it will launch firefox loop through your inbox and read your messages. it saves your messages to an xml file on your machine. you can use the app to open the xml file from your machine any time after. there are some super basic filter for dates and a search term. *** requires firefox right now. i can work on chrome support if you need it. quickstart: extract the zip file launch nainbox.exe on the first run, click the download button put your NA username and password in the boxes and go (user and password not saved, just used to download) you'll get an xml file close the download window back on the main window click open and choose your xml file it looks terrible and will probably fail spectacularly if you look at it wrong but it was good enough for me to find an old message i was looking for. let me know if there's something you really need to get what you want out of your old messages. *** note that fuckin gocollect's forum is garbage and you will probably be missing several pages of inbox because their shit breaks. sorry, i haven't figured out how to work around their incompetence yet. if anyone has suggestions let me know thanks. *** edited 3/30 added some code to guess at possible conversations on a broken inbox page. probably not 100% but finds a lot. you may still be missing conversations unfortunately.
  11. There is a lot of valuable info buried in those threads. Difficult to find now, but its important that it stays up.
  12. That sounds like the scam where they mail you a check for way over the asking price and ask you to return the difference. The overuse of "kindly" is tipoff this coming from someone with English as a second language from an overseas country with a high rate of scammers.
  13. This is what game action replay does, if you can find a working one
  14. Origin has a c&c bundle with all the games for like $20 and there are fan apps to support network play for.many titles. Buddy and I have been playing a bunch of red alert 2 battles.
  15. Does anyone remember alladvantage? It was an ad bar that ran on your desktop and you got paid for active time with it open. Except you could download an app to keep.your mouse moving. I think I made $17 before they went bust from having a stupid business model during the dot com crash
  16. There was a cart of some kind but iirc it's not working? Or just a bios cart to run the disc drive. It's been reverse engineered and emulated, and someone released a game that runs in the emulator and would theoretically run on the real thing.
  17. I think there's some evidence that a flu shot will at least reduce the severity of illness if you do happen to catch it
  18. Well, as with most things, reality disagrees with your worldview. The people who make use of needle exchanges are those who are addicted beyond the point of making rational decisions. They're gonna find a way, clean needle or not. The people who benefit from needle exchanges are everyone. Reducing incidence of disease in a community is good for the community as a whole. It's a public service, and saves money in the long run.
  19. I've made offers where 50% of asking would still be generous. Some people are detached from reality or have no intention of selling for anything reasonable.
  20. So I make a post, and someone quotes it, I get a notification dot in the hamburger menu. I click on the bell, click on the thing, it takes me to the post and clears the notification. However I also get a pop-up at the bottom with "x has replied to you" or whatever. If I click that, it takes me the post, so I've seen it but the notification is still there. Can clicking the pop-up link also clear that notification? Can just viewing the post clear the notification?
  21. Agree to disagree, I think the nt looks terrible with a cart in place. The big avs lid is kinda awkward but overall I prefer it. The jailbreak abilities are very tempting though, but not $300 worth. I'd probably go with a mega sg if that was the goal, as those are very nice.
  22. they are. idk how much, probably will vary with game. check ebay, maybe atariage
  23. Lincoln

    Sold!

That is very neat! Does it support fds games natively? Or do you need to have individual hacks?
