i haven't worked with google maps that i remember, so i'm putting that option off as it means learning something new. i might get there eventually, but i was hoping for a shortcut to get started. thanks for the tip on the usps thing, i might look into that.

that would be more comprehensive than what i have now. but, there are lots of cities in the country, and very many of those will fall within 100 miles of the next city. you're looking at thousands of zip codes, versus maybe a few dozen i think i could get away with when optimized. as i'm feeding this into the gamestop website, which is garbage and slow as shit, execution time is a consideration.

it only does 100 mile radius. so, assuming there is one of something in some store somewhere in the country, you have to find a close enough zip code to get the location with the item. i'm trying to come up with a minimum list of zip codes that I can run to check all/most of the stores. afaik there's no way to search all stores at once, only by the radius thing.

gamestop website lets you search. for example contra https://www.gamestop.com/video-games/retro-gaming/nintendo/games/products/contra/10122770.html is apparently in stock at a store near me

I haven't done that, it might help to have a complete list but it would entail a lot of cultivating. I'm trying to find zips that cover the bulk of the stores while eliminating those that are redundant. May end up having to figure out point to point distance eventually but I'm hoping for something better to start with.

I'm trying to put together a list of zip codes to cover all (or pretty close) gamestop stores using their 100 mile search. Does anyone have a good list for this? I started with the 100 most populous zips but it skews pretty heavy and there are a bunch that look redundant with clustering. this was a free map tool i found online but the radius feature is included in the paid version. if anyone can recommend a free tool to plot points+radius i'd appreciate it willing to put together a shared doc if anyone wants to help work on it

Something i just realized about this- the chr is the same as mtpo. That implies the tyson graphics are in that chip, even tho the prg doesnt utilize them.

A non-stamped back label implies limited or hand assembly. Ive only seen that on the yellow test carts. The konami refurb 5 screw dont have any back label

None of the 5 screw mtpo up to now have had 1st print labels afaik. Theyve all had orange bullets labels and mid-run pcb. Here's my 1st run cart if anyone would like to decode chip dates

If you are quick saving/reloading just to avoid negative outcomes (other than game over) thats kind of against the spirit of traditional rpgs. #1 seems pretty straightforward- are you willing to risk a fight to steal whatever they have? If you fail and always die you are probably too low level for your intended target? #2 is trickier, possibly a game over event if you cant get out but fallout was pretty good about having more than 1 way to do something. You can maybe blast the door open with explosives, or just attack it if you're strong enough. Its been a while since i played og fallout so i don't remember for certain.

It's possible its a proto, but my impression is no. Looks like a retail label, and for a game like this with relatively low distribution this kind of thing can happen. It could be a bugfix version though, or just hand assembled to replace someone's faulty cart. I would get it dumped and compared to known roms.

My friends finally convinced me to play gta V (online) with them. While the game play is kind of lackluster, the scale and presentation of the map is impressive. The first time flying south over the mountains at night and seeing the city lit up was pretty stunning.

Old tg had a bad rep they earned. New tg has done a lot of good cleaning and appears to take their credibility seriously. Dude is definitely a master but also a cheater and generally dishonest. He will never meet a challenge head on, he sidesteps everything, always working an angle. There's no point in engaging him on anything, you're never going to get him on even ground.

Gb/gbc games can develop solder cracks around the mapper that can often be fixed by reflowing the mapper pin soldering. Voultar has a video on youtube showing how yo do this. Worth a shot before trying to transplant. Not sure if gba games are the same deal or not.

Id like to see the search improved, specifically click on an autocompleted entry. If there's only one exact match, i want to go right to that entry. Having to click through the list of matches again to get there is annoying.
