  1. If Nintendo or Sony were interested they'd be demanding its return via lawyers, not bidding on a public auction.
  2. So it's less the pension cutting into your ss and more you not paying into ss right? That's how it was for my mom working for the post office. She also received pension largely in place of ss since most of her work years were for the po and they didn't do ss contributions.
  3. Did Ben share his repair process? That would be very interesting to see. Didn't he announce it would be no reserve at some point? Or did I remember that wrong
  4. we don't *have* to spend nearly as much as we do on defense, but it doesn't really factor in anyway. we're already being taxed in the form of insurance premiums, it's just going to a private business. regarding unions, removing health insurance as a point of negotiation frees them up to negotiate for other benefits. insurance being tied to your employer is a huge burden on anyone trying to find a better working situation. employees would benefit from not having to worry about that. plus no gaps in coverage when you change jobs.
  5. That doesn't really tell me anything. What are your objections to his specific policies? Fwiw I am registered libertarian and I'm hoping Bernie gets the nom so I can vote for him (I'm also in California so it absolutely won't matter). I don't think there's any free market fix to healthcare at this point. You can't really afford to shop around when you're in an accident or have a long term health issue, if that's even an option to start with. The insurance industry is thoroughly broken. Every civilized nation but us has government provided healthcare and it generally works out better than our current system. It would be nice to not have to worry about getting sick and going bankrupt from it. That's the big one I know about. Iirc he's got some plans for education too, which is a concern as a parent. Tuition costs are absolutely absurd now and student loans are buying people in insurmountable debt.
  6. The comments I see against Pete are usually focused around him being good at making empty speeches but not actually having any policy points. I can't stand listening to speeches though so I'm getting that secondhand. What specifically do you have a problem with regarding Bernie?
  7. Chrome on Android When replying to a thread sometimes I start with a quote and mess it up but I don't have a way to delete the empty quote box. Sometimes I'll get a "your post was restored" message with whatever was there when I left and the option to clear the editor. Having the option to clear any time would fix this.
  8. Well he did just admit to firing whistleblowers in retaliation, which is against the law, so we might get to do this all over again.
  9. It means the guy above is derailing the conversation by arguing what a concentration camp is, something that is already settled and agreed upon, rather than discussing Trump putting people in concentration camps.
  10. one of us is making observations and drawing conclusions and the other is name calling. maybe do some self reflection on your inability to think critically about this.
  11. well as long as you bring it up, there's a lot to read into those things. the very obviously terrible tanner speaks to poor judgment, or a pathological need to hide his real self. age isn't really an issue, except he shows signs of dementia. the inability to properly apply the tanner is probably a sign of that too. and it's not just that he's overweight, but he lies about it, along with his height and a number of other things that people can make educated guesses on. all this in the man who represents us to the world and people here as some kind of savior as he turns the screws into them to enrich himself and his cronies.
  12. yes, taken by a white house photographer. i like how he manages to get the tanning stuff up into his hair while not being able apply it evenly to his face.
  13. Solid 8. It's an excellent movie but isn't for everyone. It's pretty messed up.
  14. No this is bullshit. The Democrats have been following rules and doing everything allowed to get to the bottom of things. The white house obstructed the hearings in Congress by instructing people not to answer subpoenas and the Republican congressmen threw tantrums about made up grievances. The Senate Republicans refused to hold an honest trial because a bunch of them including McConnell are dirty too and going against Trump and party means they are gonna lose their campaign support at best or get thrown under the bus and face their own trials at worst. Trump didn't even have to testify at his own trial ffs. How absurd is that. The two sides are not even remotely equal and propagating that idea is a tactic to undermine the credibility of people actually trying to do right.
  15. I've used a 3m non-wrinkle glue stick to stick some bad corners down. Usually it's just to prevent further damage. It goes on tacky so you can flatten the label to the surface and clean up whatever squeezes out if you overdid it. I try to rubberband something in place to keep pressure on the area until it sets. Idk if they are acid free but I've had decent results.
  16. that is a super famicom illusion of gaia board. someone has used it as a donor. the original rom chip is not active, the one added to the back has the new rom on it.
  17. Vgpc is up now, I think they were just doing maintenance. Iirc from the jj games thread someone said he's gonna focus on vgpc more now so expect it'll be around a while. Gvn is back up now *and* it's not having the issue where the page cuts out half way. So I have no idea wtf is going on.
  18. Off topic but is the cag16 code no longer valid? I tried it a couple times for retro orders this past week and it wouldn't take.
  19. based on the pics at bootdog it's probably regular nintendo style wiring. are youthinking of mrpete1985? i haven't seen him around here afaik
  20. Pizza Pop uses a famicom only mapper. Famicom carts with that mapper are the only donors afaik. Someone did a mapper hack and sold it on carts but the hack isn't public. You can try tracking one of those down.
  21. IIRC I asked jj way back if he was scraping to get best offer accepted prices and he specifically mentioned it was against tos to do that. I still don't know how gvn was doing it. Unless something has changed I couldn't figure out an API call that would give me that number.
  22. The fact that liquidation prices were still outrageous at the end suggests they werent intended to sell during the sale, which in turn suggests they were intended to wind up elsewhere when the thing started. Unless the purpose of your sale is to unload a lot of baggage leaving you with a strong lean inventory with which to relaunch a storefront. All that other junk will likely reaccumulate over time.
