The Switch Thread

Next month I'll have a decent amount of gold coins to lose, any suggestions of stuff that Switch ONLY has that's not specifically on Steam/Gog and/or mobile?  I already have Baldur's Gate DA which is a fairly recent release.  If necessary I may drop it on an ACA game of some sort, but who knows... I think I'll end up losing a few dollars so I'd rather not.

That game looks fun, yet questionably maybe not.  It's nice not having conflict which is rare for a style of game like that, but it seems barren, and listening to pieces of that talk about it having basic moves restricted earlier does seem not like the smartest of choices but it could be worse.  Maybe it's the cats and no real NPCs or something to work with to put more reason into why you're there and doing stuff, but maybe not and it's fine in action.  I mean you had games like Flower, Journey, and Sky from that one developer and you're not getting slapped around and investigating huge spaces without more than a subtle nudge.

Either way, utterly remarkable audio aside since a composer helped, that this was done by a single person as the polish visually is very much there.

...also, it looks like Slay the Spire could be OOP.

Wow... that was $10 on amazon for the longest time! However, price and quality are not always directly correlated, because Slay the Spire is a fab game! Seriously fun, despite all the repetition. It's a rogue-lite game with cards and I love it 🙂
Great music too.

I like games with a lot of exploration.  One of my favorite things about LTTP was the large landscape with things to discover - and figuring out how to get to areas you couldn't reach.

One of my favorite switch games (which unfortunately is not available as a physical) is this one - it is all exploration with some puzzle solving:

That’s a crazy price but I fully respect this pickup

I'm totally jealous of the pick up but I definitely disagree with the sale price. Of course it's worth what someone will pay, but even speculating long term, it's just a bad investment.

I respect the dedication to the cause, but man, that's the entire NES library CIB(?) for a Nintendo Switch  console that is LABO themed of all things. Just crazy to me. The buyer must've REALLY wanted it.

LRG did in fact later last week ship out STRIFE for the Switch, I had it pop up on Saturday.  To be honest I'm to the point I'm kind of put off by their bs, and with the Mega SG showing up and a bunch of Super Famicom games I just tossed it sealed on a chair(still there.)  Anyone want it?  Not like I can't play it on PC anyway.  I put a few hours into those old(new to me) games that day instead and it was great. 😛

My kid bandited my copy of Kirby I got belated for the birthday and I guess you can finish it but keep going for more, she was into the more but took this week off for the bunny day week event on animal crossing.  I should go back to it whenever she moves along.

I took a break from playing Xenoblade to play Hoa. It’s great but there’s a really disappointing section that should have been playable and was just a long boring cinematic instead. Like they ran out of time or just didn’t care. Made what could have been an excellent game disappointing.

I went back to Xenoblade and tried the time attack challenges and wow, they really add a lot to the game. I usually don’t go for stuff like this but in this case I was impressed.
