Turtles in Time is awesome! I try to play through it at least once a month.

Turtles in Time (SNES) is both one of my favorite games of all time and probably one of my most-played games of all time. Having been spending a lot of time with Shredder's Revenge this past week or so, I've found myself pondering how I feel about it in direct comparison to TMNT IV. While my undeniably powerful level of familiarity and nostalgia for the SNES game comes from good reason, I think I have to concede that Shredder's Revenge is a superior game on a technical level. Obviously, it has the advantage of its era in terms of what they can accomplish with graphics and sound but I think Revenge also benefits from adding some very welcome extra touches to the controls and game play. It is taking me a little time to adjust to Revenge's combat pacing, hit boxes, telegraphing and enemy patterns but I find that as I slowly find my comfort zone, the game feels even better to play. This was the same process I had to go through at various stages of experience with TMNT IV, I've just had the benefit of 30 years to perfect it.

Long story short, TMNT IV could never really be replaced for me, as it is too much a part of my gaming history and vocabulary. Nor would I ever want to replace it. However, I think on a technical level, Revenge looks to be a game that very much deserves equal or greater reverence for what it is...and that's very high praise indeed. If this game can hang with a classic like its predecessor, that's worth attention.

I just platinum trophy'd South Park: The Stick of Truth. I've beaten the game several times before on other platforms, so I had to come back and get the platinum for it. As an avid fan of South Park, it was a blast from beginning to end.

Certainly on my bucket list. It's chilling on my shelf waiting for the right rainy day to start it. I'm glad you liked it, as I'm a huge SP fan also.

Shredder's Revenge. A lot of fun, took about 2 hours to play through the story.

I played some online co-op, and I think 4 players is the most I enjoy playing with at a time. It's neat that 6 can play at a time, but it's just too much going on at once.

Anybody else check this out yet?

Wrapped up the last (and possibly best) Shovel Knight campaign

You copycat lololol. I just completed the king knight last night as well and it is definitely the best of the 4 campaigns.

now to decide what to play next. I was thinking maybe lunar knights since it’s basically boktai 4 and I never hear anyone talk about it

Super Street Racer the game on ps4. Decent arcade racer, made harder by enemies automatically doing a pit maneuver on you if they touch you from the back. No licensed cars but you can see what they are. Lots of perfomance and cosmetic upgrades. I probably paid too much but had it pre ordered just never got to it. On to the next one!

Just recently beat Rhythm Heaven Fever, got perfects on all the songs. Had a super good time with it, really enjoyed it. Although now I have

and

stuck in my head, haha. They've been playing on repeat in my head for about a week now.

I forgot what a slog Dragon Warrior I was.

I only ever played through it once, so maybe that's why I have very fond memories of it. My first playthrough was in 2015 when I was 25, and I thought it was really cute and fun. I don't think it's the kind of game I'd ever revisit though.

Dragon Warrior II was great too, but those were the only NES ones I played.

i beat Sonic CD (via the Sonic Gems collection for the Gamecube. i got the "bad ending" so there wasn't a cool ending screen, thus no picture. but there was a fun animated sequence, so i guess that's fun.
this game was....fine? super easy. all the stages felt ridiculously short (or maybe that's just because i am coming off Sonic 3 that had some overly long stages?). the boss fights were a complete joke.
this game has an interesting 'time travel' mechanic, so each stage actual has 4 versions. but it feels largely inconsequential while playing, even if you go back to the past and fix the future (you can get the good ending by doing this to all stages. not worth it to me, but i did try to do it for most levels). a neat concept, but the ececution just wasn't there for me.
i guess i'd recommend this for diehard Sonic fans only. Sonic 2 remains my fave of the series.

Dangerous Driving on ps4. This game got hard, I had to accept not getting first place in everything, just letting a second or third finish slide 2-3 times to unlock the next event so I could finish it. The game is intense, but unfair towards the end. You have to go full speed max boost into blind corners and just gamble there is no car there, if you touch a car at all you crash. I love the whole concept though. They are working on a second one so hopefully its a bit more polished. OR JUST GET A NEW BURNOUT GAME
