  1. Hard mode?! Eesh... even IM not that good and I love this game haha.
  2. I easily spent the most on Tekken Tag Tournament. One of my favorites and I had all the top times and most wins in a row... 42! The guys stopped playing me so I beat the game and went back to class haha. I also love Contra but never really played the real arcade version. Mostly the Xbox live version. Simpsons, TMNT are also godly. Also want to throw in Wrestlefest! Games I also fondly remember are Lucky & Wild, Arm Champs 2 and Time Killers!
  3. I think with this and if anyone beats me (I still don't have anyone that has beaten my score on the shump thread haha) I should be crowned king of Zombie Nation. When I first played the ROM in the late 1990s or early 2000s I thought it was a ROM hack. Its so bizarre which is why its in my top 5 favorite NES games ever. I think @Gloves actually had this as a kid, IIRC. So jealous.
  4. Ok so I did some testing. First off, I forgot your score resets after you die, so for the high score it basically has to be a 1CC Secondly, you DO get point for fighting the boss. Your score shows after a game over. So I died at the final boss on purpose, reset my score, shot him and died again and did get some points. So technically the max points you need to get is to die right before you kill the final boss. The score does not show after you beat the game on the title screen. There ya go.
  5. Oops. VGS didn't look like it posted my response. Delete these last 3 posts thanks!
  6. I had to look at video for it cuz its been a while. Pausing doesn't show you your points but the points are on the level screen and at the end of the level. After beating all the stages you immediately fight the boss and it doesn't show your life bar, points or anything. As soon as you beat the boss thats it. Actually, I have to look it up but after you beat the game and start a new one it MIGHT show your high score. Im going to go test this out now. be back in 20 mins
  7. I want to make a note about Zombie Nation, out of the goodness of my heart. IIRC the points are only shown when you pause, or at the end of a level. If you 1CC, you need to record your points after the last level, else after you beat the boss it goes right to the ending. Im not even sure if you get points for beating the boss.
  8. @CasualCart Haha thats amazing! I love how the regular Mega Man looks like a grumpy old guy forced to fight robots. And the fixed artwork is so cool! Same vein but with actual artistic talent haha. I was inspired with the idea cuz I would love to see the original 1993 Doom artwork done in that Mega Man 1 style haha. I wish I had artistic ability like that cuz I could just entertain myself for hours!
  9. Guys name literally translates to "Dick head" haha. Did what I say was really THAT awful, especially for an online forum?! If anything this place is much better than any other forum I check out. Anyway, I forgot about bimmy_lee. Good game player.
  10. Ah I see. Such a shame cuz I never heard a bad word about this guy and he had the respect from all the boys. Kudos to him by keeping his chin up thru it all. I think he knew it wasn't his fault and just to ride it out.
  11. Not exactly true. Roman would be over if he was booked right. Now that he is, he's gonna be YUUUUGE.
  12. I was never a huge VH fan, but that first record is incredible. Plus he was super sweet to two of my favorite musicians ever, Jason Becker and Allan Holdsworth.
  13. Even though they were innovators of the style of music I play, I was never personally a HUGE fan, but I had to give em an 8. Plus, when I was a kid I taped the 1992 Royal Rumble and I LOVED the song that closed the show. I always thought it was something the WWF put together. 20 or so years later, I found out it was Rush! Thank god the version on the WWF network still has that song, because without it, it just wouldn't be the same.
  14. I would love to see Mega Man as the shitty Mega Man artwork. Or Weird Ed. Oh and make sure he's holding the exploded hamster.
  15. I played 2 rounds. Came in 4th and 3rd. First time I ran out of time since I wasn't sure what was going on. Cool idea.
  16. Yeah I have to agree. Im much worse at SNES games because theyre a bit more complex. I have a lot of difficulty handling the cape because its not exactly like the racoon suit in SMB 3 which IMO was much more intuitive. I ended up getting to the Special Road and just have bowser left. It certainly is easier because of all the things you can do, like exiting levels or the top secret level to stock up on lives. I don't like that you can't save at any point, but only after certain parts.
  17. Some of you may know i'm not big into SNES cuz I didn't grow up with it. Not hating on it cuz there are tons of great games for it. I just started to play some more. Worked thru Link to the Past and thought it was great. So trying Super Mario World. Lovely game but I HATE the physics. Is it just me but compared to the NES Mario games, SMW Mario feels much lighter and slipperier? I often find myself dying in ways I never would in SMB 1 2 or 3 by under shooting or over shooting something and landing in a pit or in the face of an enemy etc. It makes the game way more frustrating in a game thats actually much easier conceptually than the other 3. FWIW I just got to Chocolate Island 1 and found every secret level to that point.
  18. Don't think so. I think bootgod was the exception for NES stuff. My instinct is to tell me by that point, aside from a battery save, almost all the GBA and GBC boards are identical, save for a few revisions. Ultimately it would have to take the community to open and organize all of them. BTW unless you have experience, I STRONGLY suggest not removing any TSOP chips as they're hard to remove and even harder to solder on. The way those PCBs are put together is with solder paste which is like toothpaste. Its spread on the copper contacts and the components and chips stick to them. Then the whole thing is put in the oven and melted. Its great for compact design but fixing them is really hard. Which is why its easier for most companies to replace the entire PCB than fix one part. Just a tip.
  19. The band that was supposed to be Nirvana before Nirvana. (In fact, in 88, Kurt used their vinyl record as a pickguard on his Mustang). Black Hole Sun is one of my favs. I'm not familiar with their entire catalog but I heard a lot more I liked than I didn't. 8. Oh BTW, the guy on the left in the first pic, is Jason Everman. Who played with Nirvana from Feb 89 to July 89. He also had a guitar with a vinyl record as a pickguard but I forget the band. Kurt with the Soundgarden vinyl pickguard and Jason Everman. 2-25-89. EDIT. I was wrong, The pickguard is "Where are the Dead?" by Thomas Road Baptist Church. I guess it was just the sticker.
  20. I had to look up footage. I can't believe I never noticed they gave him a little alien shmeat. Incredible.
