  1. I'm Toad all the way. As a kid I loved that whale level just because it was so strange to see such a thing in a Mario game. SMB2 is still my favorite game to this day. As a tip, use Toad in the early levels to grab as many coins as you can to get as many lives in the bonus stages as possible. If you do well, you should have enough lives to get you through the rest of the game without having to worry about any more bonus stages and using whatever character you are most comfortable with.
  2. If we are talking about what I paid vs. what it's worth now, it's hard to say for sure since I don't really track that stuff. But I know I bought a CIB copy of Super Metroid from my neighbor for $2 back when the SNES was still the most recent Nintendo console. Still have that copy today.
  3. Never played it, and as with most 3D platformers from that era, if you didn't play it during that era, it's probably pretty hard to get into today, so I doubt I will ever get around to it.
  4. Have you tested this theory, or are you just guessing?
  5. I give his music a 7 and his performance as Nikola Tesla a 9.
  6. That's pretty rough. I'm glad you were able to eventually get back and even enjoy the ride a bit. I typically ride by myself, but I also bring a cell phone with me when I go. None of the trails around here are in locations where I'm too worried about my safety. The cell phone is in case something happens where I won't be able to finish the ride. I don't really have any stories like that outside of one trip where I had a small accident. It was several years ago. The bike from my picture above was only a few weeks old. At that time, I hadn't ridden in about 3 years, so I was really enjoying the scenery on the bike trails and I wasn't paying attention. I slide off the trail into the grass. Instead of being smart and coming to a stop, I tried to slowly make my way back into the trail. Unfortunately, the tall grass hid the fact that the asphalt on the trail was about six inches taller and when my wheel hit that "curb" it put my bike right on its side. I wasn't going super fast, but when it was over my bike was several feel further down the trail from where I ended up. Luckily, my body took most of the impact, and my brand new bike had just the smallest amount of scratches on the handle and pedal. I had some road rash on my elbow and ankle, and the next day I had a bruise about the size of a softball on my hip. Other than that I was ok. I finished out the ride. I didn't have a helmet on that day, or a cell phone with me. I hear a helmet and bring a cell phone with me on all rides now.
  7. I've only managed one ride this season which is pretty disappointing. I just have too much going on in my life in the evenings right now. If I could, I would ride at least twice a week. I'm fortunate enough to have hundreds of miles worth of bike trails in my county and they are all interconnected in one huge system with an access point only 1 mile from my home. Some of the trails can be pretty scenic. I'll take some pics the next time I'm out. Here's my ride.
  8. This one isn't a power up (although it's used to purchase power ups), but all of the talk about food in garbage cans reminded me of this. Why do you always find so much money in the trash cans in BioShock? Why are the citizens of Rapture throwing their money away when it can be used to purchase ammo and health?
  9. I certainly agree that regional differences are much different these days since most stuff is region free, but that doesn't change a word of what I wrote, and I still stand by my statement that the NES and Famicom consoles and libraries should be treated no differently than the US Switch and Japanese Switch consoles and libraries.
  10. In my mind, the NES and Famicom consoles and libraries should be treated no differently than the US Switch and Japanese Switch consoles and libraries.
  11. While I certainly won't try to defend those comments, I also don't understand how the comments of a few trolls from a long time ago on a different site translates to the community here having a problem. I'm also a little confused why we are talking about in this thread.
  12. Only one song that I don't hate. I don't know how to vote here.
  13. 2600 - NES - SNES - PS1 - PS2 - PS3 - Wii - PS4 - Wii U - Switch Obviously I own many more consoles, but this list represents the consoles purchased while they were still active and available in stores as opposed to getting them used later after discontinuation or replacement. I personally don't consider myself a fan boy. When I owned an SNES, several of my friends had a Genesis. While I was glad I had the SNES over the Genesis, we never got into arguments about which was better. We were happy we had different systems from each other, because while visiting each other's houses, it was the only chance to play the consoles we didn't own. I never knew anyone who owned more than 1 active system before the PS3/360/Wii era. When I switched from Nintendo to Sony with the PS1, I never regretted the change, but I was still happy to play N64 when visiting friends homes.
  14. I was staying in a condo in Florida while this happened. No where near this city, but it was still weird to read about the following morning. Hopefully they find more survivors.
  15. Basically any type of health restore in any game that's meant to be realistic. The actual people fighting in World War II didn't just pickup a first aid kit and go on fighting. And they certainly didn't heal themselves by "taking cover."
  16. If you want to know what the troll gets out of it, they enjoy watching the dozen or so people who fall for it stumble over each other trying to nab it first. They screenshot the messages they get trying to backdoor the buyer and have a good laugh at it all. They probably even get a good laugh from the messages accusing them of being a scammer. I genuinely don't think they care about the money as this person obviously knows they won't get paid for this. The person was bored, and they probably believe that the laughs they got out of this were worth the effort put in.
  17. Seems a bit early to be rating this one, but ok. I obviously can't rate it because I don't own one yet. I won't buy a console until it has actual games that I want to play. I will almost certainly buy one at some point down the road.
  18. 1 1 2 2 1 and 4 were easy. 2 and 3 are just choosing the lessor of two evils.
  19. I didn't see anything interesting on Amazon. The Target deals were better, but everything I wanted was sold out. But even then, nothing that I needed to have, so I don't feel like I missed out on anything. Plus I didn't spend any money today.
  20. The first time I watched it, I knew absolutely nothing about it. I genuinely thought it was some type of Natural Born Killers type of movie. The vampires came completely out of left field for me. The first time I watched it I didn't like it because it simply wasn't what I thought it would be. After giving it some thought and a rewatch with the right mindset, I enjoyed it a lot more. The funny thing is that the more I think about the movie, the more I like it. I WISH I could watch something like this again for the first time and be shocked again, but I sort of doubt that will ever happen.
  21. The person looks to be going and the horse's upper half looks to be coming. However, I can't see how the horses legs could possible work for anything other than going.
  22. In that instance, you will still run into the appraisal issue if you are financing 100%. It's still harder this time around to finance more than the house is worth. That doesn't mean it isn't happening at all, but at least there are some checks in place to make it more difficult..... for now.
  23. I'm not saying there won't be a crash, and I'm certainly not saying there won't be an eventual drop in prices, but the biggest difference I'm seeing this time around is that there are a lot more cash buyers, and those who are financing are having trouble getting the appraisal to match the offer on the house because so many people are overpaying. In other words, it's slightly more difficult for people to buy more house than they can afford. When the prices fall, there SHOULD BE fewer people upside down on their mortgages compared to 2008.
  24. But the opportunities are fewer and further between. I'm not sure what he meant by "country," but when you live in the "country" out here, one single school will act as the grade school and high school for 5 or 6 neighboring towns.
  25. You definitely can't compare attach rates when one of the games was a pack in. It's simply not a fair comparison. Likewise, it's also unfair to exclude the sales numbers of the titles that were sold as a pack in because the individual game sales are obviously going to be lower since many people didn't have to buy the individual game since it came with the system. At the end of the day, if you are comparing only two games and one was a pack in and the other wasn't attach rate simply goes out the window.
