  1. Great band. I still have several of their songs in my current Amazon Music playlist. Probably an 8 for me.
  2. While this is a true statement, it shouldn't be used as a negative for Nintendo compared to Sega. It's actually an unfair comparison considering that Nintendo has IP that's actually worth protecting and they have to means to do so. Sega ........ doesn't.
  3. I've seen some people store their N64 games in these cart protectors: https://www.videogameboxprotectors.com/store/4569532134 And some people print out artwork to put inside the cart protector to make it look like a box. However, it would be a much smaller box from the original game. Basically a box that is just slightly bigger than the cart itself. These look great on a shelf, and could probably be stacked to a certain extent. http://www.thecoverproject.net/forums/index.php?topic=28177.msg228856#msg228856
  4. I said this before, but my best friend at the time had a Genesis and I had an SNES, but neither of us fought about it. Each of us having a different system was the next best thing to having both at home. It was my best chance to play Genesis games, especially Sonic and the superior MK, and at my house it was my friend's best chance to play SNES games like Super Mario World and the superior MK II. It's funny because, since we owned an SNES, I never even tried to ask my parents for a Genesis. That would have been like asking for a million dollars.
  5. Still haven't gotten around to seeing it, but I absolutely want to.
  6. As far as actual green label Greatest Hits titles go, I have 79 out of 172 releases. However, I own several black label, long box, or CE versions of games that got a GH release. So if I wanted to make a subset of PS1 games that got a GH release but using any variant, I would only be missing 25 games. That might be a goal of mine to complete this year. Ultimately, it's my goal to get all of the following: All black label jewel cases All Greatest Hits All Collector's Editions/Twin Packs All long boxes Within some of those groups, there are some variants, but I'm not interested in going that far. For example, I own the black label, GH and CE for Tomb Raider II. However, the GH version of Tomb Raider II has like 3 or 4 variants with different demos available. I'm not going for all of those. So I own all of the Tomb Raider II versions I plan to get. I have a checklist for everything in case anyone is looking for a list. Total unique PS1 US titles - 1,284 Black label jewel cases - 1,242 Long box - 102 Greatest Hits - 172 Collector's Edition - 11 with 3 games each Twin Packs - 2 with 2 games each And just to clarify, the GH count of 172 does not include the Driver/Driver 2 Twin Pack since I count that separately under the Twin Packs. But the 172 does include the individual GH releases of Driver and Driver 2.
  7. Just about any game that involves jumping wouldn't work if the jumping was realistic or proportional. That's pretty much my answer.
  8. And now that I have the Driver Twin Pack, I might as well update my Driver PS1 set. @Hammerfestus, I finally found one.
  9. Here is the "full set" of Twin Packs for the PS1. There were only two of these offered on the PS1. Oddly enough, the color scheme is different for each set. The Sesame Street Twin pack uses the white color scheme that the 3 game Collector's Edition sets used, despite not saying collector's edition anywhere on the box. The Driver Twin Pack uses the Greatest Hits green color scheme and says Greatest Hits in several areas on the box art. It's kind of strange how differently these two twin packs were handled. I'm hoping to show you a complete set of the Collector's Editions pretty soon. I'm only 3 sets away from having them all.
  10. As I've said already, I get that. I don't think I'm explaining my point properly. And honestly, I don't really care enough to try so I will just say this. I don't really consider any Guinness record to be all that relevant or prestigious. So I'm not going to compare to to anything legit like an Olympic record. That's just how I feel. This is not a jab at the record holder herself. She seems like a great person. I just don't care about Guinness World Records.
  11. I never had that issue with DKC, but I completely understand where you are coming from with games like Earthworm Jim.
  12. I picked up two new PS1 controllers. Both from Vintage Stock and both surprisingly cheap considering they weren't on sale or anything. First is the fishing controller which is good to have considering the number of fishing games on the system. Second is a MadCatz flight stick. I haven't seen this one before, but for $6 I figured why not? I doubt I will ever use it as the Sony dual flight stick is almost certainly a better controller, but I'll keep it in the collection anyway.
  13. @WhyNotZoidberg This is how you should have responded.
  14. Right. The funny thing is that during the SNES/Genesis era, most games were so different between consoles, it actually would have made practical sense to own both an SNES and a Genesis back in the day, if it wasn't considered so extravagant. Owning both a PS3 and a 360 was almost pointless, but most of us still did it.
  15. I've tried to make this comparison before as well. I really think the battle between PS3 and 360 (and even Wii) is probably the closest we've ever come to repeating the SNES and Genesis era. However, there is one major difference between those generations. The PS3/360/Wii era is the first generation where owning more than one console (from the same generation at the same time) was commonplace. This was extremely rare during the SNES/Genesis era. So back then, you really had to pick the console you wanted and learn to stick with it. I know that some people owned both back then, but it was still very rare. I've personally never met anyone who did. However, it was extremely common to have at least two consoles during the PS3/360/Wii era and many people had all three.
  16. As mentioned in another thread my console order was the following. 2600 - NES - SNES - PS1 - PS2 - PS3 - Wii - PS4 - Wii U - Switch Again, that order represents buying (or receiving) new consoles while the system was still active. Since then I have gone back and bought just about every other major system from those generations. I can safely say that as I switched between different brands during different generations, I don't regret any wish I could change any of those purchases. I love many of the consoles that I missed out on (especially Genesis, Dreamcast, N64 and GC), but I still believe the consoles I played at the time were still the best for me.
  17. You might have beat the scalpers, but you were too slow to beat me.
  18. Skyward Sword Joy Cons seem to be readily available on GameStop and Target's websites for anyone who didn't pre-order them. I'm guessing in store purchases might still be hard to come by.
  19. I don't know what to think of this, but I kind of want to see it.
  20. No, the Technodrome level is the one unique to the SNES. Especially the part where you have to throw foot soldiers into the screen, which could only be done on the SNES version.
  21. I don't have enough interest to get into the debate about the meaning or connotation of bonus. I will just say that, as a kid, I was always a little confused as to why the third level in TMNT IV was called a bonus stage. It even has a boss at the end of it. It always seemed odd to me. The level is fun though and I always liked the boss because I had that toy as a kid. I just don't know why it was any different compared to any other level (other than all of the extra pizza/? boxes).
  22. I almost gave it a 10, but I feel 9 probably fits better. This game still holds up well today, including the graphics in my opinion. Fantastic gameplay, level design, and especially music. This game was a big deal for me when it came out and I still love it today. I've beaten it many times, but I've never bothered to try and 100% it. I should give that a go sometime.
