  1. Closed on my house last week. I ended up with a few concessions since the house wasn't in the best location, but I'm still happy with what I got out of it. I had an offer the first weekend of listing it, and had everything closed and complete within a month. I made considerably more than I would have if I sold it when I moved out of it 9 years ago. The work and hassle of renting it out over those 9 years was stressful, but at least I can say I got paid for my work and now that it's gone, it is a huge weight off my shoulders. We are interested in upgrading our current home to something larger, but I absolutely refuse to try and buy something with the way prices are right now. Since we have no need to move now, we will simply wait until prices become more reasonable.
  2. I was on hold with the Illinois Department of Revenue the other day for 58 minutes, and the entire time the recording kept telling me that wait times were long because they had to reduce the number of people taking calls due to COVID. It's infuriating because there is no reason why they can't use the same number of people taking calls remotely. I know getting people setup to work remotely isn't an overnight thing, but it's been more than a year now. There really isn't an excuse at this point.
  3. I really enjoyed it. I will almost certainly watch it again. There is a little bit of made up drama, but overall it's pretty faithful as far as it's understood.
  4. This is a good example and it's of one of the games I was referring to in my previous post. Even if the Kickstarter had failed, they still had the means to produce this game, which means the Kickstarter was used as a way of taking pre-orders without having to guarantee anything. I also got caught up in the hype and I learned my lesson along the way. Fortunately, I was able to get a game out of it, so it wasn't a complete disaster of an experience, but I won't do it again.
  5. While I don't disagree with most of what you are saying, it's still worth mentioning that 3D games that DON'T go for realism in the graphics tend to age much better. Look at the Crash Bandicoot games. Many Crash games were released during the first generation of 3D gaming and they still look amazing today.
  6. Have we really not done this one yet? 9 for me. One of my 3 favorite Star Wars movies.
  7. Oh, for that you need Obscure Sports Quarterly or ESPN 8 "The Ocho"
  8. NBC is broadcast over the air for free. That's how I'm watching it currently. Also, Peacock will have lots of stuff to watch for free, but I don't think any of it will be live. But still, lots of stuff to watch for free.
  9. During the NES era, any manual that included pictures, names and descriptions of the enemies was number 1 in my book. I loved reading about the enemies and knowing their names (which is why I didn't really have any made up names to add to the other thread). As we moved into later generations and as games started getting bigger, I noticed that many companies didn't put all of the enemies in the manuals, or often times left the enemies out all together. That was disappointing for me.
  10. Correct. Wart if the final boss. The only thing that can kill him is feeding him vegetables. So logically, he keeps a machine in his lair that generates infinite amounts of vegetables.
  11. The best part is the fact that, in the picture, they are obviously grilled.
  12. All I ever go for is the single cherry as that is typically more than enough. However, I still get great single cherry results with the button mash method. Again, that's assuming that I'm playing the NES version.
  13. My initial statement said a lot more than that, which is why your "hard disagree" didn't make much sense, and therefore, I questioned it. I've never said Nintendo is above criticism. In fact I've often stated the exact opposite. But criticism of Nintendo protecting their IP is beyond ridiculous, so I will call that out every time I see it.
  14. I've backed a lot of stuff on Kickstarter, and every thing I've backed I've eventually received, including games. However, I don't believe I will ever back another game, unless it's something I truly believe in and might not happen if I don't back it. I've backed a few games that, in hindsight, could/would have been done without crowdfunding and I'm not a fan of that. If a group has the means to develop a game without crowdfunding (by their own admission), then they shouldn't be using it in the first place.
  15. Maybe I'm not remembering correctly, but I thought there was a ton of Suikoden stuff released on the PSP that was only released in Japan.
  16. That's a pretty long list isn't it? I have all of the games released on US PS systems, but that means I'm missing the DS game and of course everything that was released in Japan only.
  17. I love those visual compendiums. I have each of the first 7 they have released. I also have a few of their other books including the SNES box art book and the Micro Machines book. They have several other books I want to eventually order.
  18. I bought mine over a few different orders over time. He also has sales from time to time if you aren't in a hurry. Lots of good stuff at his site. He also has lots of controller stands if you are into that.
  19. I just posted about this the other day. I purchased mine from Rose Colored Gaming. His products are great and he covers a lot of systems including some unique stands for special or collector's editions. Unfortunately, I don't think he has anything for Tiger handhelds. Edit: Each stand is unique to that system and even includes the name of the system etched into the stand. Stands are available in clear, black or frosted (mine are clear). https://rosecoloredgaming.com/ This is my collection. Non Nintendo consoles. Nintendo consoles.
  20. Everything is worth "something." Sega's IP isn't worth nearly what Nintendo's is. They also do not have the same means to protect their IP. Comparing the two is laughable at best. It's great that Sega doesn't go after every single project that copies their IP, but it has nothing to do with them being a super nice company that honors their fans. Nintendo shuts down a small percentage of projects that copy their IP because 1: they can and 2: they stand to lose money if they don't.
  21. Cool Boarders collection. Parts 2, 3 and 4 also received GH versions. I'm only missing part 3 out of that group.
  22. Which part? Are you saying Nintendo doesn't have IP worth protecting? Or are you saying that Sega's IP is just as valuable as Nintendo's?
  23. It's hard to say for sure since I don't really know you all see me, but it's probably safe to say that I'm more outgoing here than in real life. At this point in my life, I have no real desire to go out and meet new people. That's not to say I'm anti social, but I have enough friends and family in my life, that I have little desire to expand that. However, I have no issues going to a new forum and meeting new people that way. A place like this is especially helpful because nearly no one in my social circle has any interest in games, and I really enjoy talking about it with other gamers and collectors.
