  1. I’m fully with you there. Just saying that there are large swathes of sane people here, including oppressed populations that can’t just move elsewhere.
  2. I understand and appreciate the sentiment, but I don’t think people should have to move to be treated like a human being. It’s better to fight for change in red states than to pack up and leave behind the people who can’t do either. There are large populations of libs and even leftists in red states, but the system has done a great job of gerrymandering and oppressing those voices.
  3. Birth rates are down, government has to step in to ensure we keep producing little workers and soldiers for the oligarchs.** **this message brought to you by the party of small government
  4. Damn I hate being right. Hope you all got your casual sex out of your system.
  5. In a stunning display of irony, SCOTUS decides they want control over what is inside of it. Also nothing says “will of the people” like anticipating backlash because you know your decision is unpopular with the majority of the American people.
  6. Every poll on the matter shows that the majority of Americans - in any state and at the national level - support having safe and easy access to abortion services. So we have a panel of 9 unelected lawyers making decisions against the will of the majority of Americans. Great system.
  7. Oh, and I’ve posited for awhile now that overturning Roe v. Wade is just the beginning of a long campaign. Look for restrictions to vasectomies and tubal ligations (this procedure is already difficult to receive in a lot of places). Look for efforts to make simple birth control like condoms and Plan B harder to come by. Hope you dudes have gotten all the casual sex in your lives out of your system, because the goal is to make sex without procreation a lot harder.
  8. I made a promise to myself to stay out of politics on VGS but this SC decision is heinous. It’s not about “saving lives” although the people who wave that flag and believe it (majority of the politicians that wave it likely don’t believe it themselves) are useful tools. This is about maintaining the foundations of a capitalistic society that oppresses the people and benefits the few. The structure of the traditional family is paramount to that. Especially now, after a deadly pandemic that has disrupted the supply of workers. The crony capitalism that dominates the United States relies on a constant supply of children being born to supplement the workforce. It also relies on the financial burden of a child— even better if it’s unplanned. A child increases the likelihood of families living paycheck to paycheck or in poverty. You NEED that to keep the current structure of power going. That’s why you see politicians in BOTH parties against abortion. It’s not about babies at all and it’s not a real conviction for them— they’re both after the same goal: control over the working class.
  9. Gonna try to get a few of these done! Gives me an excuse to play more Baku Baku and Bust-a-move at the very least.
  10. I thought this said “Battle for DK Bongos”
  11. Sweet GC collection there. Man, I know Sonic Adventure isn’t exactly looked upon favorably but Chaos was a villain that really intrigued me when I was a kid. I still really like amorphous enemies in games.
  12. Time manipulation. Mostly to slow it down though.
  13. Atari Video Cube, Miner 2049er, Jawbreaker, Pooyan, and Mines of Minos are outside of the “dirt common” category that a lot of 2600 games fall under. I wouldn’t label any of them truly rare, but good finds nonetheless. If you’re looking for value I think Mines of Minos is the most valuable in the lot.
  14. That’s why I stopped at SMB and won’t touch SMB3 (I’m kidding, nobody be mean to me) But yeah Sonic 1 is just not it in terms of series representation. Not only does the spin dash make the series better but the level design is also better going forward.
  15. I like CD and 3 more. But 2 is still very good.
  16. Congrats! Looking forward to grabbing a copy.
  17. I don’t collect graded games, I don’t really have any desire to do so, and I don’t really care for WATA. I’ll be surprised if this goes anywhere though. I could see this being something of substance. But I don’t think this alone yields the slam dunk “expose WATA and destroy them for their corruption” outcome people are hoping for. I mean hey, I could be wrong. I don’t have a personal stake one way or the other. I’m just an observer. Maybe this is the thing that people are hoping will “save game collecting,” whatever that means.
  18. Dreamland 2 on the GB is the actual best one. Expanded on the NES game’s formula
  19. Throw some of that serotonin my way Also when you’re the home of Finnish superstar Pekka Rinne it’s hard not to be happy
  20. The answer is Kirby 64, aka THE BEST KIRBY GAME. I’m totally kidding, but my answer here is Mario 64. OOT may have more polish but I feel Mario 64 is more replayable and in a number of different ways too.
  21. I was thinking about Great Escape in Bowling Green, KY. I thought I remembered you saying you’re around that area
  22. Was this the one in BG? Damn they never have anything when I go
  23. This is the content I come for (and I’m jealous of your Japanese Mega Drive collection)
