Retro Game Challenge 2? I didn't know about that!
-
Here's the haul for September. I finally got Streets of Rage 4 in from LRG. I will open and play it at some point, but I'd already played it a bit on my son's Xbox via Game Pass. Of course I had to get Super Mario 3D All Stars, we've been playing it quite a bit. And after seeing the announcement for Hyrule Warriors 2 I decided to finally get the first one for Switch. I already have it on Wii U, but never bought the DLC. Well it seems that everyone had that same idea and it was kind of tough to find. Finally got it at an out of the way Wal-Mart.

Sea of Thieves needs Xbox Live Gold because it is online multiplayer only. There is no offline play for that one. Sony says that the PS5 is 99% backwards compatible with the PS4, and I'm sure that's just a 'cover your butt' kind of statement. As for the XBox Series X, it's backwards compatible with all the software that works on the Xbox One... that means the only XBox 360 and original XBox games that work on the Series X are the same ones that are backwards compatible on the XBox One. So, many titles but not all.

And now the quote button is where the edit button used to be. So instead of editing my post I quoted my self. No more posting before bed!

Wrong thread!

Agreed. This was the last star I needed to get 120... for years.

Same here. I only ever got like an hour into it, then never went back to it. That the news got to me so early on that it was 'unfinished' or whatever killed my motivation. I'll try to get to it again eventually.

Gave it a 10. An all time favorite for me. My kids are plying it now and having a blast. My oldest had played it some before on the Nintendo 64, and has repeatedly stated how much the Switch version is improved just by not having to use the Nintendo 64 controller. I don't hate playing on the controller though. It was mindblowingly amazing when it released. I don't think anything else that generation even came close to surpassing it (maybe Symphony of the Night, but that wasn't made in the new fangled 3D style). I'm about to replay it again... if I can get the Switch cart away from the kids.

I didn't have much time till to chill this week, so I couldn't learn anything cool about this game. 4396 After eight tries I never crossed the first finish line before the timer froze me out. -
They really should put the option in there. Maybe they will patch it soon. My son was playing Zelda one day and asked me to help him with one part. Well he had his camera controls inverted and it broke my brain trying to do what he needed, my muscle memory just wouldn't cooperate. When I gave him the controller back I suggested he change it back to 'normal' because not every game would let him set it 'backwards' and he probably wouldn't want to hone his skills with it that way. He's young and can adapt better than old, set in my ways, me at least. When I revisited Sunshine on the GameCube a few years ago I gave up in frustration, so I feel your pain Deadeye.

Oh, well that's better... for me at least, lol. My kids have been playing Mario 64 ever since I got home with it, so I haven't even gotten to try it out yet.

The one thing I hoped they'd fix.

I think so. I went ahead and got enough stars to reach the first tier of the tour rewards (that icon right in the middle of the bottom row of icons). Then I went to check the rewards list to see it I qualified and it says that you won't be awarded credit until the 29th. So I guess there is no way to even see if you've done what it wanted until it ends.

It's like Bane there knows that the guy taking his pic is going to make him into a meme, he's giving him a death stare.
