  1. Wait you guys didn't just have a sibling so you had access to both copies of the game and played both games at the same time and traded all the Pokemon to yourself??
  2. I think $125 a little over a year ago IIRC and yes, it was a horrible deal. Pretty sure it was made fun of in the price thread here, which was totally justified and still may be. I was paying for convenience of not going through my saved searches to find a cheap white bullets cart, letter, and manual (is there a 'right' manual? I don't even know). Now people are selling the letter for like $100, so hey, my laziness worked out.
  3. Do you have a TKG2 Donkey Kong board from that cab? Those alone I think are pretty sweet. I'm also perhaps a heathen who would've kept it converted, especially if it had the right PCB. Either is a cool piece of history though IMO.
  4. Batman is a billionaire who gives zero fucks and dresses up as a furry and hangs out with a child. Adam West's portrayal is absolutely the most realistic. And that movie is awesome. If you came across Christian Bale Batman in real life you wouldn't like "Oh my god, I'm terrified", you'd wonder if there was some kind of furry or leather convention in town.
  5. I bought this MTPO for the contents. The box was a victim of attempted murder. I bet if I put it on Ebay with "Wata ready" in the title, I could still sell it.
  6. HG/SS, they’re the biggest 2D-perspective games and look amazing. Pokemon is just uglier in 3D, both the overworld and Pokemon themselves. Game Freak is not an ambitious or technically proficient developer, and they’ve never made 3D Pokemon look worthy of the world’s biggest franchise. Gen 1 is busted (psychic, etc.) but mostly it doesn’t win because there isn’t enough to do. Pokemon is like the easiest game of all time to blast through so it’s fun to hunt shinies, have a bigger Pokedex, find legendary Pokemon, breeding, Battle Frontier, etc. Gen 2 is almost strictly better and the remakes add so much quality of life stuff.
  7. If this was the only gray MM ever found what are the chances the label on the one found would be completely wrecked in a way that makes it hard to determine if it was transposed?
  8. I was doing exactly this but I was using a Google and site:bootgod. I trusted Google more than Bootgod. Shame on me.
  9. I swapped my Grind Stormer PCB. Eff it. If it was like a $1000 game I'd probably just leave it dead and original. Virtually nothing with a battery is really worth anything as a collectible, so I'm fine swapping batteries when I play games too. Back swapping you can't really detect if the correct codes are used unless there's something I don't know. The repaired or shattered cart I've avoid either way, so do with it what you will. I'd just keep it shattered. It's hard to say anything you do to fix a collectible is improving the condition besides some cleaning I think.
  10. OK IC wizards. I have these date codes from Famicom Box Donkey Kong and am trying to determine the format. Maybe YWW and the last digit is something else like a lot number? Other random Famicom Box PRG and CHR date codes (unsure what games): 7101 and 7301, 7401 and 7101. Also there’s a Golf with 8614 and 8704 which is easier to parse.
  11. You were playing BBC Micro and Dragon 32 games until 2000 and you can't change my uninformed view of Europeans.
  12. What's desirable in the microcomputer market in the UK? Nothing? Rare/obscure stuff? Hardware? I've been buying up some classic cassette games and rarely pay over £5 a game. The expensive end of my (understandably limited by my low knowledge) want list was like £10-15: Manic Miner, Knight Lore, Batman, Skool Daze, Jet Pac, Jet Set Willy, Chuckie Egg, Gryzor, R-Type. I know this stuff was cheap in the 80s, but I didn't hit a single roadblock knocking out my entire want list for which I had no concept of prices. Maybe 2020 just fried my brain in thinking about what these old game tapes should cost. If you wanted to pick up an NES and some games today, you're paying $30 each for the Zeldas, DuckTales, and Contras of the world loose now. And top 80/90s PC games are often $100+ CIB on the PC side.
  13. Lost, especially after the writers strike. The show just always felt like it was trying to jangle mystery keys in front of my face and it was leaving writing prompts and loose ends for some smarter writer to hopefully do something interesting with. Me and my wife watched Westworld during the S1 hype and both thought it was pretty tedious outside the great premise.
  14. Both graded on the same day. I wonder how many fakes the guy sent in. While grading companies all make mistakes, grading multiple 100% fake Pokemon games is pretty rough considering it's probably the most commonly bootlegged game series on the planet. Your local game shop probably trains its employees specifically to spot fake Pokemon games.
  15. 6/10. I give it crap for the space ship controller and lots of ports but it’s the only 3D console that ever seemed to have a focus on 60fps which softened my stance on it. Makin’ games for the gameplay, not the screenshots! Powerstone, NFL 2K, Sonic, SoulCalibur, Crazy Taxi, HotD2, Chu Chu Rocket. Lots of the top games are smooth AF so they hold up better than a lot of the busted old trash of N64 and PS1 or the busted new trash of newer obsolete consoles.
  16. The price tracking sites are missing a LOT. I don't know if something changed or what. GVN's last CIB sale of The Immortal is from August 2020, but there are 5 of them in Ebay solds. I basically stopped using them both because games have bigger price gaps based on condition, and they're missing tons of data.
  17. If you have an item identical to some graded HA sale, you still can't get HA prices for it. Normal Ebay sold listings are closer to reality. The market of people buying "a near mint CIB" and "specifically 9.0 CIB I am buying that number" are mostly different people. I'm bidding hard for stuff I really want, and letting plenty more stuff go that isn't worth their exponential prices to me right now (relative to what's on my want list that hasn't exponentially gone up). Trying to get something nice today for yesterday's market price can be tough when things are falling upwards.
  18. Some PSA 10s are selling for $1000s and 9s for $100s, but by the time you submit your cards and get them back next year the bubble might burst!
  19. Hey I saw that on DealTavern’s Ebay store last year, it was one of the “more expensive” games meaning $40-50 and I’ve got too much bone fide good stuff on my want list to buy random DT sealed games I’ve never heard of in the hopes it will be some future gem.
  20. To be honest once I got a hold of Doom, I sure didn't go back to older PC maze games, I was all aboard the bleeding edge of FPS technology at all times train. I got back into 3D mazes with turn based first person RPGs. Might and Magic III, Legacy on Palm OS, Doom RPG, Orcs & Elves, that kind of thing.
  21. Nope but it looks rad. It has working water fountains!
  22. Man those Nintendogs plushies are better than Nintendogs.
  23. What if a teenager came across her gaming videos and took a break from visiting Pornhub six times a day to check out her Onlyfans that he definitely isn't about to pay for?
