  1. It's a scam. Did you find this in a Facebook ad? Their SSL certificate is 5 days old (not that that's bad in itself, but this site was just set up) and half the links on the site are dead or have random Chinese text.
  2. Can't believe Chum let this walk out the door for only $90,000 These segments are weird. The guy clearly knows he isn't going to sell it. The shop clearly isn't going to buy it but has to feign interest. The guy asking $100k can't even confirm that Glass Joe (or "Glassy Joe") the first boxer of MTPO, something anyone who has played MTPO... once... would know. The prices are whatever at this point, but the lack of actual passion for games in this market man, it is like a vacuum that sucks out enthusiasm for games themselves.
  3. Gotta say the high end people making splashy headlines prices psychologically works. Used to be games essentially topped out in the high $100s except for the the really tip top stuff. Now sealed anything is worth $1000s, let alone the splashy $10,000s headlines. I was never interested in that stuff to begin with, but now when I look at a $600 copy of Tatsujin Oh on FM Towns Marty it's not like "This is one of the most expensive games it is possible to purchase", it's like "This looks like a DEAL compared to $80,000 on Pokemon Blue". Pretty sure the whole sealed market has been manipulated specifically to sell me games for $100s to trick me into thinking I'm getting a better value. I don't have Tatsujin Oh, but... man it's a better deal than Pokemans Blue.
  4. I love buying in person to really get an idea of condition and hunt for deals. There are virtually no stores by me and the few there are don’t have good enough inventory for a fancy pants collector, they’re closer to Gamestops that happen to go back a few generations. I put 100% online.
  5. Very sorry to hear Tabonga.

  7. Way better than a sealed copy of Gotcha to be sure.
  8. My goal was 100k and I couldn't even hit that. You blew away people on AtariAge in their weekly contest. Although to be fair they were probably playing on Atari joysticks like maniacs. Jeez, the delayed controls plus having the play with an Atari joystick, it doesn't even seem possible. Your score would've been the high score on Twin Galaxies at the time! (Todd Rogers scores are fake). Edit: Maybe not, they played on difficulty A/B. I still have faith you're the true world record holder. https://atariage.com/forums/topic/181766-high-score-club-910-tapper/
  9. Guys I don't think I'm going to hit 300k. 67275. 76275.
  10. A news article about a forum post on ResetEra, brilliant. Also "ResetEra"?? Excuse me, I only recognize a certain handful of forums that ripped off AtariAge's naming scheme and ResetEra will not be one of them.
  11. 5, in the middle for me. Most criticisms I have of it are of the era rather than PS3 itself. Game design started losing me with an abundance of movies and boring open worlds, consoles blended together with fewer exclusives, performance is never prioritized, etc. Don't like the dual shock. It will always feel like the analogs were tacked on as an afterthought rather than ergonomically placed. My favorites are the same as everyone else's and all 3D action games: Uncharted 2, MGS4, Demon's Souls, TLOU. If I have a less popular favorite... Sports Champions? Disc golf and bocce are so fun. Why don't we have more good disc golf and bocce games?? Also Playstation Home was a cool idea. I said it.
  12. 9, but I have big nostalgia for it and have played it to death. I still walk around quoting the game at home. If my wife says "Who are you guys" to anyone in any context, I say "We're Star Fox". Then without missing a beat she'll continue with the response "I still don't know what that means".
  13. 58950. The control delay is tough. I gotta figure it out.
  14. GTA3 was the most “video games are at the next level” experience I think I’ve ever had. It’s gotta be that. I played 1-3 the most. Now I hate open world drive to the icon for busywork games. Screw you GTA3.
  15. I think most people consider continues fine. Almost everyone continues 20 times before they beat Ninja Gaiden or GNG for the first time, then celebrate, not think "Oh god I didn't really beat it". Then games like Contra and Ninja Gaiden III give you tons of continues, but not unlimited continues. You can beat those with continues, beat them without a continue, beat them without dying, going up the power-gaming master chain, but you're beating the game regardless. What's the point of limiting continues if that's not developer saying "You really should be able to beat Contra with like... 15 lives kid" or however many it actually gives you. What about modern games? If I die in The Last of Us II should I delete my save game and start the entire movie over if I die, or does it count as beating it if you continue?
  16. Lots of buyers from Germany lately in the Facebook groups to the point where there are complaints about keeping conversations in English. Not sure what happened, possibly related to the German streamer spending ludicrous money on things like GTA and God of War to for views.
  17. 3+ old men in a trenchcoat, probably Florida. Is there an actual end collector at the super high end beside the Pets.com guy who bought the Nintendo Playstation? It’s probably an investor group similar to the 100k Mario. If it sells for crazy money and they have dozens of other sealed Mario games, everyone wins.
  18. Here's MJ playing a Space Invaders pinball machine. It's basically a video game, ask @ThePhleo!
  19. I mean I used Nintendo Power and playground advice to beat games, is that any better than online walkthroughs? If you beat it on original hardware or the equivalent, ya beat it. If it’s a puzzle game and you looked up all the answers, you only really ruined it for yourself. Being against save state practice is kind of crazy. You think every top speed run of every game isn’t legit then, because every top Mario speedrunner uses them to practice and build muscle memory for tough tricks. And if you ever practiced with save states, all your runs and completions are then invalid? On Twitch right now there’s a guy streaming 5 second loops of Contra 3 runs!
  20. David Crane and Garry Kitchen's new game just went on sale: http://audacitygames.com/editions.html - Pretty neat
  21. I made a new bluetube video. Just pretend it’s a Collector’s Quest microcast and put it on in the background and hey there’s a new podcast out
