  1. Pretty sure nobody's piecing together chips to fake these revisions (generally speaking). It's just not worth it. @JVOSS I'm trying to say we probably don't need to worry about verification and donor cards at this point. Any units found for this revision should automatically be considered legit.
  2. Got this PSP Go for $38 shipped because it "wasn't working". Turned out all I needed to do was use the correct charger and it fired right up! It's in great condition too with no scratches or anything.
  3. I don't think any blue Wiis came with stands since they were the latest model designed to lie flat. And I got a CIB black Wii that was barely used with a black bottom stand. It's the earlier model that came with the motion plus attachment and not the built in one. I assume black Wiis with motion plus came with black stands.
  4. I was going through my collection and I found three colors for the Wii U stands. Also I was looking at some YouTube unboxings and I spotted the black stand in several videos for the black Wii with motion plus. You'll see it at the 1:33 mark in this video: Also looks like the dark grey one came with the Red Wii. I think I see it at the 6:09 mark in this video:
  5. Are they also going to take more serious action against non-paying bidders? Or maybe a winner might just return the item claiming a BS reason if they couldn't retract their bid.
  6. My pickups over the last few weeks: Sealed Metroid Prime Pinball: Some GBA games. Been looking for Car Battler Joe at a reasonable price for a while: This "non-working" lot for $75. I managed to get all of them working. Pokemon Crystal required a minor repair to a trace that took a while to figure out but it was a fun challenge: This lot for literally $20. The ad initially listed only Zelda and Sims but when I went over the nice guy added the other 2 for free because they didn't have labels (I didn't even ask) The unknown cart turned out to be Final Fantasy Tactics Advance: An interesting variant. How many Wii games came with 2 discs? I can't seem to find any active or sold listings for this one except for 1 brand new unit from Canada. How rare is this bundle? Finally this boxed GBA game for around $20 shipped. The gameplay isn't too bad actually.
  7. Wow that is beautiful I've seen this eBay listing in the past and was impressed with the professional quality of the work. It's nice to meet the person behind it I only have access to a basic temperature controlled soldering station and a children's magnifying glass to check my work after soldering lol. I probably can't do better than this with my current equipment. Keep up the great work!
  8. That's cool. It takes me about 2 hours for the fix including disassembly, testing and reassembly. The ribbon cables are really annoying because even if the soldering is perfect sometimes you have to re-seat them a couple of times on the motherboard to get a stable connection. This was my very first attempt at this fix: I started soldering too high up and used too much IPA to clean off the residue, ended up rubbing off part of the code from the board. Maybe it's not a big deal but I'm somewhat of a perfectionist lol. And this was my latest one: I'm pretty happy with my work now after some practise Sorry if I'm hijacking your thread
  9. I recently taught myself how to solder fix these and did 5 of them so far. They all turned out well with no screw ups lol. The repair is very stressful though and I can't imagine doing more than 2 per month so it's awesome that you're getting through these so quickly.
  10. It's not part of the "US set". But it is part of the "NTSC-U" set.
  11. There should be a link to the history of changes made to the listing in the desktop site. I'm not sure how detailed it is though. But in any case, when I see "as-is" I assume the seller tested it and it's not working. I mean, who is going to pass up the opportunity to make more money if it works? Very few sellers genuinely don't test and sell as is. IMO, "as-is" is the same as broken. If it turns out it's working then that's a bonus.
  12. That's an older article. I'm saying Nintendo has been better about their supply in the past few years ever since the SNES classic. They even reprinted their NES classic and there were multiple restocks of the Animal Crossing Switch. The Red & Blue Mario edition Switch also seems to have had decent stock. Tons of stock for Super Mario 3D All Stars and the Game & Watch. Even if holding off supply was a strategy, that appears to be a thing of the past now.
  13. Lol I think this is a little childish and is only going to escalate the situation.
  14. It's not fair to blame the PO all the time. You won't believe how many people write the address incorrectly or with poor handwriting or write it in such a way that it gets easily rubbed off during transit. Just last month a Mercari package had my address written with dry erase marker on top of the packaging tape and it was almost faded completely. It was pure luck my street number and unit number were just barely visible. Some time ago another package from Mercari had my printed address but it wasn't laminated with clear tape so the print got nearly rubbed off by the time it arrived. Another thing is I don't think one shipping service is better over another. Truth is none of them give a fuck about handling your package delicately so it's on you to make sure to pack to the best of your ability with lots of bubble wrap, crumpled newspaper padding and maybe even double boxing for valuable/fragile items.
  15. I disagree... It's the people who are supporting scalpers. Nintendo makes enough stock these days for their products since the SNES classic. It's bad business to flood the market with enough stock to cover the scalpers AND the general public. But I believe they did that for Super Mario 3D All Stars and the Game & Watch. Now there are STILL unsold units sitting at retail as of this moment. With this experience I think Nintendo is going to go back to producing enough stock only to cover the expected market demand and scalpers will again take over.
  16. I custom built some tiny shelves for my Gameboy games.
  17. Game Gear cartridge tabs can break if you're not careful. The design is super annoying. I heard there is a model that slides open but I've yet to come across one. Maybe this is one of those things for the "video game false memories" thread?
  18. I got mine from Amazon I think. Sets of 10 comes out to about $1 each. But I think these cheapo batteries are draining pretty quick and I saw someone using Panasonic ones online so I'll try to get those next. The battery holders are cool but they may or may not fit in all games. Plus if you drop the cart there's a chance the battery might pop out a little and you'll lose the save.
  19. Are these made by Nintendo or by a licensed third party?
  20. Anybody have any thoughts/insight on this?
  21. I suppose the back sticker NFR Mario Party 1 is the full game but the Mario Party 3 is actually a demo? Is it a different ROM from the full game?
  22. Wow so is this kind of like double labels on cartridges?
