  1. 1. Rating explanations down below

    • 10/10 - One of your very favorite artists of all time.
    • 9/10 - Killer fucking band. Or artist.
    • 8/10 - Great sound, great songs, great albums.
    • 7/10 - Very good, but not quite great.

    • 6/10 - Pretty good. More than a few songs you like. You'd entertain the thought of seeing them live if they were in the area. Or still alive.
    • 5/10 - They're okay, but maybe not something you'll go out of your way to listen to.
    • 4/10 - Meh. There may be a song or two, or an album that you dig, but you'd rather listen to other stuff.
    • 3/10 - Not very good. You will more likely than not turn the station if they come on the radio.

    • 2/10 - Not your cup of tea at all. Some people like this, but you are not one of them.

    • 1/10 - Horrible in every way.
      0
    • 0/10 - In the running for worst artist/musician of all time. You would rather take a cheese grater to your face than listen to this.

These "hard core" "gansta rap" types think they're so tough and "keeping it real"...Cash was doing all that before most of them were in diapers!  And I bet nobody today would be bad ass enough to perform in concert and make an album from it live in a maximum security prison, with his wife there no less!!

Another song from that album, which this YouTuber combined with Hank Williams, III's version to make it sound kinda like a duet.  I have to include this because this is a really bad ass version 🙂

Sadly all those years, decades of hard living took quite a toll on him, as you can plainly see here in his last song/video created just three months before his beloved June Carter died and Johnny himself would join her just under four months later.

Now we’re talking.  9/10.  Legendary.  I agree with a lot of the others about how phenomenal that cover of Hurt is.  Kind of makes the NIN version seem like crap.

Also, I voted for rap duo next.  I am so hoping it’s the fresh prince and jazzy Jeff.

The song in conjunction with the video is a real tearjerker.

My guess is the duo will be Outkast.

I'm not a major Johnny Cash fan, but it'd be embarrassing to not give a legendary talent such as his a high rating.
Although famous as a country singer, to me he's mostly a representative of classic rock'n roll. I'm not even a rock fan, mostly because I grew up in the 80s and its terrible pop buttrock bands. But there was a time when rock music was actually really good.

8/10, but only because the top two scores are reserved for my favourite artists.

The scores are meant to reflect your own personal enjoyment of the music.

Perhaps a few of them are long overdue for some rewording
