It seems like the extras for the collector's editions take far longer to produce than the actual game itself. Also, LRG will not ship any part of your order until everything is complete. So, even if say 4 out of 5 of your games are ready, they will wait however long until all of them are ready to go. I think they outsource the goodies in the collector's eofditions from different places and have to wait until they all get in to package up the collector editions. On the bright side they sent me an email letting me know that that the Shadowrun Collectors Edition had been delivered - so I was able to bring it in form the front door within a few minutes of the arrival. I am not aware of any porch pirate events on my block but I figure it is only a matter of time. Being retired has some advantages. Anyway the email about the delivery is a giant step forward IMHO. I have to say LRG is really stepping up their game (as it were).

This video is the first tv broadcast in the US - in 1928! RCA/NBC first tested their nifty experimental toy and they needed something to broadcast. One of the engineers' daughter had left a Felix the Cat doll in the backseat of the family car so they grabbed that and used it. The whole “won’t ship until everything is ready” is being changed. Probably for an extra fee but they are supposedly making it so you can break up shipments

I've never ordered a collector's edition from LRG, and my order fullfilment tends to average at nearly a year at least.

"Resparked" is such a cocktease... Think you're getting a remake, a port with upgraded graphics? Hahaha, here's what you're getting - fucking rewind. Seriously, re-releases need to stop putting rewind features in their games, especially those that just bind it to a controller button by default. Tell me you don't care about the game you're releasing without telling me you don't care about the game you're releasing Hey I like rewind but sure, at the end of the day it's literally a fancy emulator on a cart. The only unique feature is "boss rush mode." Also I'm super disappointed to learn that the Rocket Knight collection is missing the one modern game that never saw a physical release: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rocket_Knight I would be way more excited about this collection if it had that. Like, I'm probably going to buy the collection anyway because I'm a FOMO collector, but what are the chances LRG eventually does a separate release with this one game on it? Overall it's always felt like such a waste to have so many separate releases for old roms that take up almost no space at all. Why not put Felix the Cat and Rocket Knight on one release? At least with Evercade or the Atari or Taito collections you get a bunch of games in one.

But, I'm going to get it for the 2-disc soundtrack, I love me classic video game soundtracks
avatar! | 1,826
I wasn't aware that Strictly Limited Games started selling on amazon -- perhaps this has been going on for a while now? At any rate, some really good prices on their games, and since it's amazon free shipping https://www.amazon.com/stores/StrictlyLimited/page/AA235868-C642-4802-9911-DAD30D6AE03E

I got my JP Collection a while ago because I ordered it by itself. I always loved the SNES version of JP and think it's hugely underrated. I played through it the same night I got the JP Collection and I still love the game today. My Castlevania Advance Collection will take a while to get here because I lumped it with 3 other orders, so I have to wait for all of those to be ready before I get it. Tabonga | 2,328
I have to give them a big kudos - they have really cranked out stuff from the backlog. I am down to 7 orders that I am waiting for - the lowest it has been for a very long time.

It varies - sometime the CEs take a very long time - the oldest thing I am waiting on is from November of 2022. Generally it doesn't take that long - and the releases they are just hawking for others usually are pretty quick.

Sumez | 2,988
I've had plenty of orders which took around 1½ year to ship as well, but it seems their most recent releases have gotten much faster. From it being shipped it still takes one to two months to actually arrive, though.
inasuma | 1,203
I'm very appreciative of all these companies that keep physical games alive. it makes condition collecting more interesting IMO because most are cardboard too Lately I bought Death's Door from SRG and TUNIC from Fan Gamer. Say what you want about the specific companies but I enjoy this stuff. My all time favorite though is probably Axiom Verge's first release from Indie Box. That thing was dope. One of my all time favorites and I love to own a couple copies for the ol' collection. Edited February 20 by inasuma

Sumez | 2,988
The new Contra is already getting a regular retail release with wide distribution at a decent discount price, even on PS5. Does the LRG release offer anything to separate it from this?
Sumez | 2,988
As for LRG's recent announcements, here's the stuff I'm finding interesting: Ninja Five-O is just a lazy emulator release (that's what "Carbon Engine" means), but for anyone who wasn't lucky to snatch a copy on GBA when it was possibly to get for human money, this is good news. Hi-Fi Rush has been a Microsoft exclusive until now, so getting a PS5 port is awesome, and LRG are putting out physicals on both PlayStation and Xbox. Im thinking lazy ports of older games is the future of LRG. Well, the present too but it’s become more obvious to me
