  1. There is some discussion of the clock and technical limitations with it being live, here:
  2. Update 09-30-20: Auctioneers: Do not edit out your listing and/or the end date and time after the auction is over, regardless of whether there is a winning bid or not. Update 12-08-19: Auctioneers: Do not require, request, or encourage bidders to pay via paypal 'gift' or 'friends & family' in your auction. Update 11-14-19: Please make sure the end time and date is listed clearly in the auction thread, and not only in the thread title. The auction end needs to remain throughout the auction and after, as opposed to being edited out with title changes.
  3. Hello, There are a few other threads in this section regarding the database, but essentially, we are aware of the desire - we need some time to continue setting up VGS and are working to implement new features as we can. The Database is (was) a big project that would need some technical work to get setup, so we are still working out if and how that would be implemented well. We will definitely reach out to the community as soon as we know more about if this can be implemented and how so. We appreciate everyone's patience with us as we add elements to VGS over time.
  4. Thanks for sharing and for the info Gloves! There are so many games for PS2 (my favorite console of all time) that while I've played a ton of PS2 games, there are plenty that I just never got around to checking out. This is one such game. I've heard of it and was loosely familiar with it, but never owned it and just never made any effort to seek it out or try it. I read your review and watched some brief gameplay videos, and it looks like a fun action game and I'm open to checking it out at some point. I find information and reviews on less common or less well-known games, much more interesting at this point. Thanks!

  6. Haven’t preordered but will most likely get it. I’m a sucker for the mini systems and I enjoy them!
  7. I agree. Thanks so much doner! I am really encouraged by all the support this has received already, and with another round coming, I am 100% confident we'll be able to help Gloves reach his funding goal and hopefully exceed it. It really is a great cause, and I think all the technical issues (sorry for the piling problems Gloves, eek!) are going to be overshadowed in the end by results. Thanks to everyone for participating and supporting all this!
  8. This is a super fun game, and I LOVE the packaging by the way!! I encourage people to check this one out and support - great stuff here!
  9. Matty!!! Great to have you here man Thanks for joining and it's great to see ya.
  10. I am very happy to see the huge quote-trains gone. Particularly on mobile, it was almost ludicrous at times. And the pinging of every person involved was completely unnecessary. In a forum conversation, I think it was overkill to have a little reminder of the entire conversation every time someone has a point or response. I understand how in some cases, that made it easier for someone popping in to get the full context of a particular train for a response, but I think overall, this new system is much cleaner!
  11. This is a bit of an aside, but I've never really viewed my collection as "collectibles." I know that sounds a bit strange...but, it has just been my collection of games and something I enjoy doing and something I think most of us here enjoy doing. We all have our different motivations, interests, etc., and that is totally fine. For me personally, I really don't care how anyone else in the world views video games on the 'collectibles spectrum' and therefore, I don't have any interest in seeing video games 'legitimized' or earning their 'rightful place' or whatever. If others do, that's fine - I've just never looked at it that way. At the end of the day, I'm going to keep doing what I've been doing, and try to make the best of it. I don't hate WATA or the rich comic folks - it's just not something I personally care about being a part of. Obviously some do, and there's nothing I nor anyone here can do to change that necessarily. My passion continues to be about video games - learning and documenting, making friends, participating in the hobby - and WATA isn't going to take that from me. Things are changing a bit - some like the change, others dislike it. I'm confident I'll still be able to find something to enjoy in all this, and I hope if things settle down, others can also.
  12. Beautiful family! That is a great picture!
  13. I have to also highly recommend Ghost Trick. It's such a unique game, with some very interesting puzzle mechanics. I love playing games that are different from your standard fare, and Ghost Trick definitely has that. You are a time traveling dead person using your ghostly energy to solve your own murder. It's pretty fantastic!
  14. If you read through the conversation - he was talking about different types of conflicts of interest - and explaining that the legal conflict (like he referenced) was NOT the kind he was referring to regarding WATA. Read the conversation before and his post, and you'll see what he's getting at.
  15. Bronty - what are your thoughts on this? https://www.watagames.com/learn/blog/post/the-carolina-collection/
  16. @Bronty If you read through his post - he was saying this is NOT like that. He was using that as an example of the legal conflict of interest that is NOT the case with WATA.
  17. We need some more love here! I threw together some quick drawing with some ideas I had - just to hopefully get some creativity flowing here. If someone wants to take these and actually make something good out of it for some digital art, go for it! hah. To clarify - these aren't my official submissions - if someone wants to take these, use them, create something with similar thoughts, whatever - go for it. Yeah - I know they aren't like super amazing drawings or anything - but I was just trying to get some thoughts out!
  18. That's awesome. I think in the end, it will work out great having it split to another day, and I look forward to the next one! You were a trooper and really tried, dealing with issues all day. I think all the trouble will be worth it and I'm really encouraged that you can meet your fundraising goal this year and hopefully exceed it. It's a great cause and thank you so much for participating in it!
  19. @Bronty Jone talked a lot about the "appearance" of things, and clearly that is important and has had an impact on people's minds and view here. I appreciate what you are trying to do, but you also need to understand how things have looked. I didn't realize the advisory board wasn't actually doing anything - I assumed they were, well, advising on WATA operations or even grading issues. As WATA graded games started rolling out, we started to see very high grades on items [comparatively much higher than VGA because of the scale difference], some of which came from the advisory board members. And then we saw the pedigree "Carolina Collection" which in my personal opinion, shouldn't even be a part of the grading process - I think that was a big mistake. And another question is - if the advisory board isn't actually doing anything at all, then does it seem disingenuous to you to have the group of experts listed there? They are being used to lend credibility to the WATA process, by pulling in a group of longtime experts and having their faces and profiles listed prominently as an advisory board. It creates the impression the WATA knows what they are doing and has a team of very experienced advisory members there to help facilitate the process and/or lend credibility and equity to the grading process, other processes, etc. So by you saying they aren't doing anything at all, it feels a bit disingenuous to have them listed there. I have nothing personal against Ken or Deniz, and by all accounts they are great guys. And I absolutely understand your points about aligned interests versus conflict of interest, etc. But there are some issues or perceived issues here, that have created doubt in some people's minds, and I think given some of what I just described above, I don't think it's unreasonable doubt in all cases. I think it's important to understand WHY some people are feeling the way they do, or where the concerns might come from.
  20. 1.) Yes, BINs use the same rules. If an auction has a BIN element and someone says they want to Buy it Now, then obviously they have the winning bid - typically there hasn't really been any confusion that I've seen on this front - but if you have other questions about it, let us know. 2.) Raffles would be, for example, members having to pay money for a chance to win something. If someone is doing a game or a contest, and giving something away for free, including choosing a winner at random, that is fine - it is just a game giveaway. When we refer to raffles, we are talking about the 'gambling' type, where someone pays a fee for a chance to get something. This would include a standard raffle, facebook game-wheel type scenario, etc. If you have any other questions on what constitutes a raffle, just let us know. Hope this helps to clarify - but let me know if you have any other questions!
  21. The game is great! I was trying not to get my hopes up too much, as I loved Luigi's Mansion so much and didn't want to be disappointed, but so far, I love everything about this game. It has a superb amount of charm, there are tons of secret areas, and the different enemies require you to use different attacks and methods, which helps with the difficulty level. I love the environment they built in the hotel/mansion, and there is so much detail in all the different areas and rooms, that it's fun and interesting to explore around and see what you can find. I'm a few hours in, but so far it has exceeded my expectations and I'm having a blast with it. It's just a super fun and charming game.
  22. Ahh, I see what you mean. I don't see a way to delete as is - but I'll look into this. Thanks!
  23. In case it's of any interest to you - I found this picture/blog online that appears to be a very similar book if not the exact same one: https://siinasei.exblog.jp/iv/detail/?s=23722670&i=201502%2F22%2F11%2Ff0209411_181742100.jpg
