So there's this cool convention happening eh? Or maybe you're doing a 24 hour gaming marathon to raise funds for childrens' hospitals (eeehhhh?). We want you to let us know what's going on out there! This isn't so much a "Rules" post for now as just a heads up. I'm sure it'll grow and evolve into something more comprehensive with time as we iron out details. For now I mostly wanted to let people know about the Calendar feature on the site! If you check out the top navigation here on VGS you'll see "Calendar" under "Browse". As it stands, we've left it open so you (yes, you!) can go in there and add your own events! Please do feel free to add any legitimate events (no troll events please, these WILL be moderated) that are coming up to our Calendar so that others can see. There are RSVP tools and such but really even just posting about the cool thing that's coming up will help to get the word out! We'll likely end up featuring stuff on the Calendar and potentially using it to drop a nice little "Upcoming Events" block on the home page or something. For now it's not there mostly because it's early days so folks haven't gone out of their way to add their stuff to it (perhaps you didn't realize you could!). So check out the Calendar, and add your events!

These are the general VGS Auction Rules. You probably already know how it works. Once an auction has an active bid, the auctioneer cannot change ANY auction terms, including but not limited to the end date or time, anti-snipe provisions, shipping terms, etc. Some modifications such as expanded shipping accommodations for international bidders may be allowed if they are less restrictive. Contact a moderator before making any such changes. All bids placed must be for the exact amount of your desired bid. For example, bids such as "+1" or any other non-specific dollar amount bids are invalid. Please form your auction thread so that the title accurately describes what's being sold (think of how you'd compose an eBay title). Structure your subtitle just as you see for this post. Use EST time and avoid the 01/10/2001 format. *** Avoid using generic end-times or days, such as "Auction ends this Thursday." This is too ambiguous and we need an exact end-date. *** The same goes for editing your thread to say "Auction ends Today!" - that is fine to add, as long as the advertised end-date is still listed somewhere Please update your subtitle at least once a day, when you get your "free bump" to send the auction to the top of the forum. When your auction has ended, modify the end time to a big ***ENDED*** and a moderator will lock your auction up. To eliminate confusion please once your auction is over adjust the sub title to ENDED!! Please Lock Winning Bid $1.27 All transactions must abide by the VGS rules. Aside from that, the only rules are those set by the seller, and agreed to by the buyer. If something is unclear, ask the seller. If you don't like a rule, take your money elsewhere. If there's a dispute, you are expected to work it out on your own, in PM, directly with the other party. Moderation will not become involved unless there is an issue of some of fraud or other serious wrongdoing.

For now this is a quick to-do, but will be built out as we can find the time. Step 1) Create a thread in this subforum entitled "Gloves' Feedback Thread" or something to that effect (with your username not mine!). Step 2) When you've entered into a deal with another member of the site, post in your own thread saying you've done so. Step 3) When the transaction is completed, post in the OTHER person's thread providing feedback on the transaction. Step 4) ??? Step 5) Profit! Let me know if you have any feedback or suggestions, but for now please follow the above!

What seems like a totally easy way to save a few bucks has turned into a way to scam people. PayPal gift payments! Sure it all sounds good send the seller a gift payment save them a bit of money and get your stuff. In a lot of cases this is true, but now not a week goes by without a member getting screwed or the run around about a PayPal gift payment. So we are clear... Sending "Gift" payments eliminates any recourse you have against the seller. You will not be able to do a charge back or file a claim with PayPal. VGS STRONGLY recommends you do not send GIFT Payments for Purchases! Of course 99% of these transactions are probably fine. BUT we do not want to see anyone get scammed, and PayPal offers a fairly decent service, anyone remember the days of the check is in the mail? A tip for the sellers that don't want to pay fees add 3% to your selling price before you post it! Thank you for your time!

We want to build a community with the community's wants and needs top of mind at all times, and so we're going to look to the users to help us grow as we build the site and tools to make it succeed. If you have a suggestion or piece of feedback feel free to create a thread and we can discuss in it. Please do be aware that we are all volunteers and not every suggestion will be possible to implement, or jive with the overall goals. Some may require extra funds, in which case we'll let you know - maybe you'd like to donate or subscribe to help fund the addition of new features! We'll update this topic with ideas that we'd like to implement so we have a general plan/roadmap building up over time, with links to the threads that started us down that road.
