  1. Ah ok. I really like Micro Mages but tbh, I haven't made it that far in the game. I need to get back into it and finish. I don't think I'd mind this personally, because at least it is kinda different, and I like seeing them through to completion. Who knows - maybe there are surprises in store for the second phase? Not really sure. I remember at first feeling a little disappointed at Legend of Zelda, but looking back, I'm very content with it. Maybe give it a chance and see if you enjoy it? Idk.
  2. I think it depends on your own personal preference. For example, speedrunners use "cheats" and glitches all the time to accomplish their goals, and it is still super fun to watch. For me, it really depends on the game and how much it breaks it. Some RPGs have item duplication glitches that effectively break the game and remove all challenge. I'd choose not to do that personally, just so I enjoy the game more. If others want to, that is their prerogative of course. I also know many people who try to play through 'legit' the first time, but then subsequent playthroughs, anything is fair game. So I think it just depends on where you are in the game, how many times you've played it, what your goals are, and what your preferences are.
  3. I understand your frustration, but at the same time, maybe consider that you can define completion on your own terms. You don't *have* to play through it the second time. If you want to see potential more content or the completion of the story, you can choose to play through it again, but it's optional like everything else.
  4. I love it T-Pac There is so much angst and negativity, that it's great to encourage positive / constructive / supportive contributions. Obviously I want people to be who they are, but trying to focus on being more positive and constructive, is always a good thing to strive for in my opinion!
  5. At least, the beauty of gaming now is that there is so much content, and so many options, that you can pretty much get whatever you are personally interested in. There are tons of specified-end games coming out every year, both first-party / third party titles - not to mention the giant indie scene. Yes, we have that segment of "seasons" and "dlc" games, that are popular especially with young people now, but I don't think it is remotely close to exclusively covering new content or necessarily heading that direction. I suppose time will tell how things change. There is also the option of playing a game until completion and not going back to it if you don't want to. If you want to play DLC or extended content, you can do so, but it isn't like it's a requirement. Sometimes I get DLC for a game, and sometimes I don't - it really just depends on the game and how much I enjoy it.
  6. Oh yeah, of course. I mean, there are lots of awful things it brings as well. Spreading of misinformation / political manipulation, false advertising, scamming people, mental illness increases particularly in young people, addiction --- I mean, the list goes on. My point is only that there are some good things it brings as well, so it isn't ALLLLLL bad, but you are right that it is here to stay regardless. I think recognizing the dangers and helping people (especially young people) to understand and deal with them, is important.
  7. While there are many problems with social media, I can share a real-world practical example of where it can be helpful. Yesterday, we had some really bad storms and then tornado warnings in my area. I was watching the news - a meteorologist I really like and trust - and he mentioned a worrisome cloud forming literally on the large street where I live. Then he went off the air because they lost power. I grabbed my dogs and went to the safest spot in my house, and tried to pull up the feed on my phone but the station was without power and their generator failed. So then we checked facebook (from a notification on twitter) where the meteorologists improvised and started streaming from their phones on facebook live to continue sharing information and warnings for the state. I know this is a limited example, but after the event was over (we are fine, just have no power for a couple days), I realized that it was a really great example of where social media can actually be a really helpful/useful tool to disseminating information quickly - in this case, potentially life-saving information.
  8. I think it depends how you define success or failure. I wouldn’t describe succeeding at life as meaning getting rich and powerful, especially depending on how it is used. I won’t deny the man’s accomplishments and financial success, but let’s just say I wouldn’t trade places with him.
  9. Did you happen to take any pics? Always fun to see what people get!

Ah, nice! I think you were wise to adjust the price - I think this pricepoint is a lot more appealing to people given the Steam platform, and will hopefully result in more sales. Good luck with the launch! At least people now have the option to play the game for $10 instead of $1,000+, that's pretty cool.
  11. I guess I was destined to buy a PS5 no matter what. There is no way I'd miss out on more Horizon, Ratchet and Clank, Final Fantasy, etc. I've really enjoyed the system, but like anything else - some will love it, some won't want it. Don't want it? Ok For me, I absolutely don't regret the purchase, even though I also have a PS4. As for this thread - Final Fantasy - it's honestly pretty darn good in my opinion. And I think it has the absolute best iteration of Cid of any of the Final Fantasy games. He's a really major character in this game. It feels very different from many of the other Final Fantasy games, and I'm ok with that, it's kinda cool. I like the direction they went with it, and it's also nice to know I won't need to sink 100+ hours into yet another game hah.
  12. We won't be making people wait a week, so no worries there.
  13. There are lots of good PS5 games. "Lots" is probably subjective, and depends on one's interests - before I get crucified or challenged about exactly which exclusive and what is 'worth' it, I'll just say that for me personally, I've already gotten hundreds of hours of entertainment out of the console, and don't regret the purchase one bit. Much (not all) of that has been from exclusive content. I don't have a super amazing gaming PC, so being able to play Horizon: Forbidden West on PS5, has been amazing (and I absolutely love the game). I wouldn't advise anyone buy a console just for one game, but I don't think most people do that. Maybe one game motivates someone to get a console, but they're not literally spending $500-600+ just to play Final Fantasy and nothing else ever (in most cases).
  14. I agree regarding engagement. I am really enjoying the story and characters in this one. I'm much more invested in both than the previous game (15). I don't know exactly, but I'd guess I'm maybe 8-10 hours into the game at this point. I'm really enjoying it so far!
  15. Coming along nicely Gloves! Keep up the great work! One of my favorites is Strawberry Rhubarb. But it's not something I can find often, especially without a bunch of added sugar. I also really like blueberry, raspberry, or anything with apricot and/or fig in it.
  16. This isn't so much a response directly to you, but I feel like my point is being wildly missed. I am not pro-billionaire, or pro-1%ers. I do not "support" this event getting more attention than other things. I completely agree with many comments about wealth disparity in the world and the problems it creates. I understand the problem of privilege. My SOLE point, in any of this, is simply that I don't get any 'enjoyment' or feeling of gladness, that these people died. That is my only point.
  17. Oh yes, they are very different. Fresh is not a direct port of Umihara Kawase. It does have a physical release if you wanna try it out. I got it because I like the series.
  18. I didn't see this mentioned, but Umihara Kawase is one of my favorite SFC games - it's super cute, fun, and has a unique grappling mechanic. It's a simple puzzle platformer game, but I have always enjoyed it! I'm not sure if it counts for this thread, as it has technically been eventually released here, just not on SNES. There is a digital release now, and then also the game Umihara Kawase Fresh! for Switch. But if you are looking for specifically console-specific exclusives, it's a really fun game (in my opinion).
  19. Well said Dr! While I prefer PS5 personally, I can't refute many of your points. There isn't really a right or wrong here, it's all about people's personal preferences and what they enjoy. That has typically been my take with most of the Console A vs. Console B debates. People sometimes try to debate them scientifically and logically and find a 'winner,' but there will always be an element of subjectivity and personal preference. One console doesn't have to "lose," as they can both be good and have different strengths.
  20. Should I even vote if I already made the decision hah? For me, it was definitely PS5 and I am very very happy with the system. There have been several games I've REALLY enjoyed, including some of my favorite series like Ratchet, Horizon (I LOOOOOVED Forbidden West), and now Final Fantasy XVI, which I'm actually quite enjoying. This is always a preference thing, but I just happen to prefer the exclusives on PS5 better. I don't really pay too much attention to things like graphical power or how any of that compares. I just focus on the games. I have zero regrets about getting the PS5 and I've really enjoyed it.
  21. Congrats on the addition of your new son! May he live a happy, healthy life with your family!
  22. It most definitely does not look like or play like a ps3 game. At least not the couple hours I’ve played.
  23. Yeah, I understand what you mean there. Most of my frustrations aren't with things being said here on VGS. But other comments elsewhere that are very very directly reveling in their deaths. Not people pointing out the irony / inequity of what is being reported and what should matter to people. Those complaints are certainly valid.
