  1. I'm actually a bit surprised at all the Daft Punk hate, but to each their own of course. I loved this - at the time it was just so... idk, different. And interesting. I liked the animation / story, and I felt the music really molded well with it. It was interesting experiment and something unique, and I thought it was fun to watch and listen to. It has been a few years since I've seen it, but I'd definitely watch again.
  2. For all the criticisms people have with Metroid I've heard over the years, I haven't really heard many people describe it as "boring" but if that's how you feel, it's how you feel. I certainly don't find it boring and absolutely loved the game. Perhaps my enjoyment of it trended well because I played the games in order - I absolutely loved Metroid, and then when I played Super Metroid later, I just felt they really made the genre shine. I love both games, and there will always be a special place in my heart for original Metroid. I understand people getting frustrated and lost, not really sure where to go, but I enjoy the exploration aspects. Some people complain when games like this are too linear, and some complain when they are not linear enough. There is no perfect balance and it clearly differs by person. Anyone can find the game boring and if that's how they feel, I can't say they are "wrong" because it isn't how I view games and people's enjoyment of them, but I would never describe Metroid in that way, personally.
  3. I really hate locking threads, but several of you have proven that you can't seem to keep from derailing this thread or getting off-topic / inappropriate in some way or another. If you'd like to discuss prototypes, like this one or another, please try again and next time please stay on topic and respectful of each other and everyone else.
  4. My goodness folks, can you just stop already. Seriously. I already addressed the comment, and took care of that. We don't need to then go on with MORE back and forth nonsense about said comment, which I already addressed publicly *and* privately. It's no secret that you two have trouble...getting along. So please, for the rest of this community, try to put your nonsense aside and either move on, ignore each other if you so choose, or stop dragging things out unnecessarily. Let's get this thread back on track - it's about a Mario Prototype, not about continuing a feud. We don't need a "but he said..." We don't need a "one last thing..." We don't need a "I'm gonna quote this to cement it here" or anything else regarding the above comments, so just drop it and move on.
  5. As I mentioned in the other thread, this is getting negative and personal. Move on and stop the fighting.
  6. Ok, seriously now, STOP. All of you. Stop the contentious back and forth fighting and personal bickering that is spanning across multiple threads now. If you want to get back to the original topic and have normal discussions, that is fine. The other stuff needs to stop immediately.
  7. Seen it, loved it. It's definitely a very interesting / unique movie, and I'd recommend it. Good one!
  8. @wyansas Unless I'm missing some great context here, it looks like you just asked for more information about a cart, and then were unfairly and baselessly accused of having nefarious intentions, without any obvious evidence supporting that. I don't think that's particularly cool and we should not do that to others without having significant reason to do so.
  9. I actually think it's cool they did that. They are still quite limited if people care about that. Plus, if someone is unhappy with the total number right now or feels they were misled in any way, they can always cancel. I'm just glad more people will have the ability to own that particular version.
  10. Bump, plus the kickstarter is live! https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/brokestudio/super-tilt-bro-new-online-nes-game
  11. VGHF is still a relatively small organization compared to other types of organizations and non-profits that are out there. They are doing a lot of good work. There is SO much work to be done in this area, that there is no way any one organization (especially a small one) can possibly even come close to handling everything. I am on the board for a non-profit preservation related organization, "Hit Save," and we are also still a small organization, with limited availability at this time, and a focused scope. I don't know the specifics regarding communication issues that may have occurred, but I think it's grossly unfair and unfortunate to see some of the comments in a few threads about Frank, who has done a lot for preservation over the years. It's easy to focus on what someone has "not" done, but that shouldn't take away from all the good they "have" done. Small non-profit organizations have very limited resources, both in terms of funding and also in terms of time / availability.
  12. This is pretty much exactly how I feel about the movie as well. You nailed it (imo).
  13. I thought Jack Black actually did fantastic for Bowser. And I thought the singing part was just fine - it definitely 'matched' the rest of the spirit of the movie and his character in particular. I really enjoyed the movie. It was a fun experience that I quite enjoyed. I'd encourage anyone here in this community, to see it at some point.
  14. Looks like you're in luck! Just a reminder to anyone else interested, that our game night will be tonight at 7pm EST, featuring Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. Please join us in discord later if you'd like to join / play: https://discord.gg/Km54ZB58Bu (Channel: april-15-2023 under "Game Nights")
  15. I’ve only been once but I really enjoyed San Francisco when I visited several years ago. I would definitely go again and never felt unsafe - or no more unsafe than any other large city. Not sure where it gained a bad rep but I definitely want to visit again.
  16. I don't know about you all, but one of these is a steal compared to the others!!
  17. I have the 5x and I like it and it does everything I need it to. It's also a lot simpler than some of the other options out there. Different people have different opinions about the "best" setup and all that, and I can't really speak to that. All I know is that the 5x is a nice handy little device that gives me a lot more options, and everything so far has worked as promised.

    Tea

Good to see another person interested in the subject I guess it's not something I discuss much, but I love and am fascinated with the world of tea, and I've tried so many different kinds I couldn't even keep up with them all or share a list. I've discovered all sorts of lovely teas - and that's the beauty of it. A lot of people think about "tea" and associate it with one or two particular things, but there is a huge world out there full of TONS of different types, with a plethora of flavors, aromas, and benefits, and so much to explore and enjoy. For example, several years ago I discovered Rooibos (sometimes called red) tea and fell in love because (a) it is caffeine free, and has a bit of a unique flavor profile to it that I really like. I absolutely LOVE chai, and have tried so many different kinds. I also enjoy making my own chai on the stove, and it's just so much more magical and delicious than a bagged chai tea you might get at the store. ^ This is one I made a while back where I was highlighting the method I use. You lightly toast the spices in the pot first, before adding the tea and water/milk/alternative, and let that simmer for a while, and it just creates so much more depth of flavor for the tea. It's a bit more work, but the result is so worth it! Turmeric tea or some variant of 'golden milk' is another one I absolutely love, especially if I'm not feeling well. I also love Matcha in its many forms, and make that almost daily or every other day at work. I could go on forever, but yes, I absolutely love all sorts of teas and it's absolutely lovely!
  19. Looks like the Asian version of Silent Hill: Book of Memories for Vita. I've encountered those stickers before and they are super thick. Honestly I'd just break open the seal, but that's probably what I'd do anyway haha.
  20. It's funny you say that, because I couldn't find it either. But the only reason I first became aware of the game was because I'm pretty sure you posted about it at some point before. Maybe it wasn't a separate thread but a post in a thread, I'm not sure. Either way, thanks for sharing about it and I'll share my feedback once I finally get to it! May be a while, my backlog is huge hahah.
  21. This game has been on my radar for a little bit thanks to the last time you posted it. It is on sale half off (digital release) so I bought it today. It may be a bit, but I can't wait to try it out later! https://www.nintendo.com/store/products/the-legend-of-tianding-switch/
  22. Just a bump that we'll be starting our Game Night in just a little over 3 hours, at 7pm EST, featuring Codenames for PC/Mobile (Free!). If you're interested, come join us on Discord: https://discord.gg/Km54ZB58Bu in the "april-1-2023" channel under 'Game Nights.' Thanks!
  23. Well done, Estil. Well done Regarding trophies, it's a tricky subject. I know some people who genuinely really enjoy going after them and collecting them, so if that's a part of how they enjoy gaming, it's hard for me to really judge or say they are doing it wrong. What I will say, is that I was never really concerned about the trophies, and when I discuss gaming with people over many years, I hear lots of comments from them about how they "have" to do certain things and that some games become a bit of a chore, trying to get the trophies. That's not really something I personally want to deal with, and I find it much more enjoyable to just play and experience the game as I'd like, without worrying about trophies. Granted, I never really cared about showing off my gaming accomplishments, or how many trophies are tied to my name. The other thing I've noticed is that for *some* people it can become sort of an addiction, to the point they are playing absolutely horrible games they'd otherwise have no interest in, just to get more trophies. Again, it's their choice how to spend their free time, but I just feel like there are so many games I REALLY want to play, that I don't have the time to dedicate to playing garbage just for more trophies. If you like them, and enjoy that part of the experience or it helps you play more games, then more power to you. I know some people who legitimately feel it elevates the gaming experience for them. For me, I feel like I've avoided a sort of 'burden' or issue, and am very very glad I never cared about going after them.
