Nice.

I started a run a few weeks back, made it approx to the third palace then fell out of it when I got a stack of games I was waiting on. Easier to just start fresh. It's good practice anyway lol.

EDIT: Aw, the little Purple Ganon in your sig doesn't open the site 🥲.

Sigh. Yeah, we can blame Google for that. Someday. T_T

Well I finally unlocked the casino place in Serendipity in Final Fantasy XIII-2...and I love games (like Dragon Quest 4 onward...expect the ninth game doesn't have a casino for some reason 😞 )  that have a casino feature where you can win tokens/chips for special prizes you can't get anywhere else in the game.  It makes playing casino almost as fun and addicting as a real one...except unlike a real one, if you lose too much you can reset and try again.  If only it worked that way in real life casinos!!

And would you guys consider it blasphemy that I sprung for the $17 (lucky number, anniversary date!) DLC pack (I know it doesn't quite include all the DLC but surely I'm not missing anything that important am I?)?

https://psdeals.net/us-store/game/696960/final-fantasy-xiii2-dlc-bundle-pack

Among other things, it's the only way you can play Texas Hold 'Em in the casino (which is a lot better/more interesting way of racking up tokens than slots) and you get to have Serah wear her Magic Bikini during the game...hee hee. 😍🥰  Not to mention you can have her super cute Mog sidekick dress up too!  Take a guess which outfit I chose for him...hee hee...

I think these were worth the $17, don't you...what's really weird though is that the game itself is actually cheaper in the Playstation store ($15 for the downloaded version) than the DLC pack!  Go figure.

As for the first FF13...is it the 10th or 11th chapter that's the most ideal grinding place?

Rolled the score on Atari 2600 Q*bert's Qubes tonight for a grand total of 1,796,165.  After the roll the hardest part is to not wander crazy town, mentally...

Def. not as hard as the Coleco Port.  Four cubes instead of Five makes for far less permutations and the enemy behavior is easier to predict and considerably less relentless...

Too much fun.

Horizon: Forbidden West on PS5 very nice graphically. Not even an hour in yet so haven’t really developed an opinion outside of that lol

I'm playing the original now and really enjoying it. All my complaints are really just nitpicks and I think it's one of the best open world games I've ever played. After I finish it up, I'll probably take a break and come back to the sequel in the fall so I can appreciate it a little better.

So far no complaints from me. A little heavy on the dialogue

@Estil On FF13 most chapters work for grinding. Just go between the save points. When you save most of the enemies you just passed reset. So, I ran back and forth between save points. Until I maxed out the crystarium for that chapter.

I could've sworn also it was either Chapter 10 or 11 that the game "opens up" more and is not so linear (which seems to be its most controversial aspect).  I'll admit, it didn't make the best first impression but once I got used to how that Crystarium worked and especially when I started working on 13-2 (which is a LOT better game in every way (I especially was blown away by how they were able to do the cutscenes and the graphics in general; remember PS3/PS4 is still fairly new to me); and I think the DLC bundle was worth every penny just from having Texas Hold 'Em in the casinos and especially Serah in her Magic Bikini 🥰 ).

I'm gonna try to pick up the Tales Of... games on the PS3 as well.  I mean that's about the only major JRPG series I'm missing from that system as I got all three FF's and there was no Dragon Quest on PS3 (bummer 😞 )

This week I added some Nintendo 64 into the mix

Dragon Ball Z: Budokai 2 for PS2 - completed Dragon World mode once and got the Gokule fusion capsule for Goku.

Goldeneye 007 for N64 - completed the game on Agent mode then again on Secret Agent mode including the Aztec level on both modes. Still need to do 00 Agent mode and try to unlock the Egyptian level.

Mario Kart 64 for N64 - completed all four cups with Gold on 100cc mode as Mario. Still need to do 150cc to unlock mirror mode.

Pokemon Blue  for Game Boy - continued my PC emulator file (Bulbasaur playthrough) and beat the 3rd gym

Super Mario 64 for N64 - played from start to finish, getting all 120 stars

Am I reading this right?  They made six(?) PS3 Tales Of... games and at least 3(?) PS4 ones (only US disc releases count BTW)?  Now that's what I'd call prime trophy hunting (unlike the FF13 trilogy though these have many missables sadly 😞 )!

Be sure NOT to plug the crystals in until the end!  I'll make your last six levels up a LOT easier!

That's exactly why I restarted my file! I've never done it that way, and wanted to try it out. It's a pain in the ass grinding, I'll tell you that lol. After level 4-5 on everything, though, the game really picks up!

I don't know if it hardly ever gets mentioned for this but I think it has among the best most detailed graphics for NES games up to that point.
