Yea that’s true. Idk how many full setters there really are though for any library. I can think of 50+ solid DS titles and maybe 20+ 3DS ones. But maybe there are more 3DS ones I’m not thinking of

I'd say there's about 200-250 notable DS titles that I'd like to own, and about 100 3DS. With the 3DS top 50 being stronger than the DS top 50.  So, depth versus strength at the top.

But I also think a lot of those DS games are pretty niche.  Dunno how many people out there are aiming to acquire Miami Law or Lost in Blue 3.  Or even know of them...

I’d be curious to see your lists of those some time.

I’m gonna post my DS and 3DS list some day. There’s a lot of solid titles for each system

By solid I mean great, not just good. Like Pokémon trozei  was good but I wouldn’t call it great

That's a high bar!

My counts definitely include "good" games.  New Super Mario Bros. 2 is a good game, though I doubt more than a few people call it great.

I'm curious(but not enough to do it) what an unmarked rarely used New2DS XL black/turquoise CIB is worth, along with ace combat+, code of princess bundle, kid icarus(complete box/stand), kirby robobot, zelda oot3d, pinball hall of fame, pokemon ultrasun, star fox, mario 3d land, and theaterhythm ffcc would net me in the end if it's worth my bother or just leave it shelved.  Whatever it is worth I'd sell it locally probably to that resell shop that would pay 50-60% of its value, again, no ebay.

Assault Horizon Legacy+, Code of Princess, Kid Icarus Uprising and Robobot are all going for a good bit now on ebay (greater than 70). The rest all go for 40 or less. If you're willing to go less than Ebay I might be interested in Code of Princess 😉.

I was gonna post my 3DS list but the site ate it and I'm too lazy to retype up it for now. The TLDR was I'd also agree there's roughly 100 or so good-great 3DS games, though I think concentrated to specific genres unlike the DS. Or maybe I'm biased since I primarily play JRPGs.

If I did in fact post this stuff for PP F&F/Cash, or trade no I wouldn't seek ebay.  I tend to ask 25-50% off depending what it is or how many there are in one shot.  Nothing under half, at that rate I can just take it to a collectibles shop in town and get a stack of crisp 20s. 😛

I’ll be commenting more on this list as I read through it. Solid from what I skimmed.

I was sad to see dragon quest monsters joker wasn’t on it but I did see it’s on your maybe buying list. Joker and Joker 2 may very well be my top 2 DS games. Highly recommend digimon world ds, dusk and dawn too. Didn’t see those on your list.

@Reed Rothchild I’m looking through my own DS collection and I’m seeing some solid ones missing.

these come to mind right off the bat

digimon world ds
digimon world dawn
digimon world dusk
geometry wars
mega man 5 battle network
tingles rosy rupeeland
yugioh 2011 (if you like yugioh)

Yeah, I'd definitely play the Tingle games.  My disdain for collecting physical imports is a blocker, but who knows what the future holds.

Geometry Wars is definitely on my list.  Love those games.

I'm game for eventually trying a Battle Network game.  Still remember EGMs GBA launch cover story which unveiled the first one.

I'd try a Digimon for reference.  But that could be a decade out on my list of backlog priorities.

Doubtful I ever play a Yu-Gi-Oh, but I'm open minded, so you never know.

Nice. Tingles rosy rupeeland was surprisingly good. Different but solid throughout. Plus you get to play as tingle so there’s that lol. Digimon I always recommend if you like Pokémon. That and dragon quest monsters joker are some of the few mon games that got it right. DQMJ was doing stuff 15 years ago that Pokémon is only now implementing.
