It's fine.  If 5 of your 10 favorite films are Star Wars and Home Alones that's just the way it is 👨‍❤️‍💋‍👨

most of the movies I really like are just too good.....I can't help myself, I don't have a top 10, I have a top infinity lol

I’ve never seen it. In high school everybody was like “omg you have to” and I was like 🙄 “don’t tell me what to do” and I just never got around to it after that. But one of these days I’m going to download the Harmy’s original trilogy.

I would normally give it a 10, but I docked it a point just because I dealt with those who have acted like their opinions are more important than the franchise itself. And that has toned down the fun I had in the past.

My advice is to not let other people dictate what you enjoy and how much you enjoy it.

9 for me. I like Empire better though. I still remember seeing it when it was released in the theater when I was 7 years old. My dad took me and said I didn't move or say a word during the entire movie. I still remember how blown away I was with the Cantana scene seeing the aliens for the first time and watching Han shoot Greedo. The magic from seeing that movie and getting some of the toys/action figures are pretty fond memories from my childhood.

Of the original three I felt like Star Wars was the only one that told a complete story independent of the other movies.

I think five and six both have parts that are cooler than anything in four, but they also both rely on the other movies to tell their story. Five finishes with an amazing ending but an open question and six needs five for the beginning to work and the ewoks and rebuilt death star were whatever.

It is tempting to pick five between hoth, yoda, cloud city, luke meeting with the emperor and fighting vader, but I think one is a better movie.

I think this was the 1st movie I ever saw.

Star Wars   9

Empire       10

Jedi            11

So, overall a 10 for the trilogy.

Once upon a time, my one time better half who had never seen Star Wars before came over after being tacitly introduced to it and asked me with wide eyed enthusiasm if I had ever seen Star Wars.

I nodded yes.

Then she asked me if I liked it.

Again, a succinct nod.

Then she asked me if I wanted to watch Star Wars with her.

My final response looked something like the following picture.

10.

When the end credits roll, I could replay the movie there and then.

Not even the prequels can ruin this one for me. When Leia and Luke mention the Clone Wars, my cognitive dissonance helps me stick to the lore I had imagined as a kid, where it is something much darker, grander and more mysterious than what they depicted in episodes 2-3.

No score.

I can't score accurately because I've never been able to make it through the film without falling asleep. Any memories I have are a mishmash of scenes from all the films, none of which I've been able to make it through. I do think Darth Vader is all kinds of cool though.

I'm glad for those that are passionate about this film and the series as a whole, it/they've just never resonated with me and I really can't put my finger on why. Sometimes my wife gives me a hard time about it (she's a huge SW fan) but it's ribbing in good fun.
