you have obviously not been exposed to the reason that most of us collect...Nintendo Quest. It’s the standard for game collecting and regarded by many as the movie that started it all

🤪

The movie makes no mention of Flintstones 2, not even to provide a bullshit excuse as to why it won't count for his quest, ergo the movie, along with his quest, is null and void in it's entirety!   😛

I was too excited to wait till I received this lot before posting. I held my breath for an entire day until it was marked as shipped lol. I was expecting to get backdoored at any moment. Luckily nobody noticed the Yoshi's Island NFR.

I made a nice haul this Christmas! Hope you guys did, too.

I got the C64 Mini. I am so excited for this one!

I also got the Pink Yarn Yoshi and Link’s Awakening Amiibos, along with a retro-style Mario Switch case and a Metal Mario figure with a Mario Kart trophy.

Finally, I got seven Switch games: Spongebob Squarepants: Battle for Bikini Bottom - Rehydrated, Rock of Ages 3: Make & Break, Animal Crossing: New Horizons, Story of Seasons: Friends of Mineral Town, Rune Factory 4 Special, Sonic Forces, and Rayman Legends Definitive Edition.

Merry Christmas, everyone!

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas. These games will hold me over for quite some time until my birthday comes up in a few months.

First up we have have Super Mario 3D All Stars. I think it’s cool to have the ability to play these games portably.

The Super Mario Game and Watch was a must have for me. Being the huge Game and Watch fan that I am, I knew I had to have it. Who doesn’t need a millionth way to play Super Mario Bros?

For the GameCube we have a very clean copy of Super Smash Bros Meele. Brawl will always be my favourite, but initial play puts Meele at a close second. Despite the GameCube being my system, my sister has somehow has more games than me! I’m only really jealous of her copy of Animal Crossing because she has unlimited play to some of my favourite NES games like Wario’s Woods, Balloon Fight and of course everyone’s favourite Golf (no it’s not a joke I actually like this game). I seem to be one of the few people that likes the early Black Box Games, so my sister having this makes me extremely jealous.

Finally we have Sonic Chaos, OutRun, Fantasy Zone, The Ninja, Enduro Racer, a second copy of Hang-On/Safari Hunt and a lose copy of World Grand Prix for the Sega Master System. This makes up most of what I actually want for the system. There’s maybe 10-20 games I actually want left.

The Hang-On/Safari Hunt came with World Grand Prix. I was going to send it back, but the text on the back is different then the copy I have. Hooray for variants!!

Also I am expecting a copy of Wonder Boy for the Sega Master System. Somehow, I got a copy of Sonic the Hedgehog on the Genesis instead, so I’ll have to wait a bit for Wonder Boy a bit longer.

On that note I hope everyone had a great Christmas for those that celebrate it, and here’s to a hopefully better 2021 for everyone!

I think I'm going to primarily focus on Japanese stuff in 2021.

I am debating about doing this myself. My Dragon Quest collection will be a "Japan exclusive" thing because that is how I started my original collection. But series like Persona will probably be mixed because my first copy of Persona 3 FES was a U.S. release, but I was also introduced to Persona 5 when I last visited Tokyo Tower.

Despite that I do wish you luck. It is a fun thing to do and there are a exclusives (and variants) worth hunting for. 🙂

I'm always baffled by how little interest there is for imports in the States.

I can only say that based on my experiences collecting anything collectors will aim for things that are tied to their past. And that niche collectibles only become options if they feel those will fill in some type of gap. 🤔

But I also found out how much my sealed Japanese copy of Dragon Quest VIII is worth over there, versus what I paid. So there are a few benefits to be had. 🤔

They are double packs from Rocket Games, a unlicensed Gameboy color publisher. This site will tell you the whole story: http://www.nesworld.com/article.php?system=gbx&data=gbc-rocketgames

I'll check it out, Martin does good work.

I did a fast check for one name against my smokemonster package for GB and GBC I do see them there.  You got me curious if they are any good at all.  I do find myself lately drawn to piratey crap like multicarts, but also weirdness like that which flew under the radar.

I pre-ordered this upgraded version of the C64 Mini with working keyboard so long ago, that I was quite sure it had become vaporware. I haven't had a chance to play with it yet, but it looks and feels great.

Man I'm jealous of this, I've been wanting to get my hands on this so badly. I've seen the mini locally, but pass over that in hopes of scoring this one day. I grew up a Commodore 64 kid instead of NES and had been thinking about rebuying a working setup for years

It's so weird that this thing ended up being extremely hard to get. I don't think the demand was huge. I'm not sure if they had production difficulties or what. That being said, it is a very cool little system.
