  1. Nice detective work. I'm starting to think the star could mean there is a small transition statement for projections TVs, but we need some more research and pics. I will look through Little Nemo and Play Action Football again today. Those both shipped with star manuals on the initial print. Play Action also has a Circle-T which really confused things, then lost the star on reprint.
  2. I'd peg it anywhere from 2-3k if it's pristine, 1-2k if very good condition. As @jonebonesaid, these sticker seals are riding the waves right now. A good comparison would be this auction, but things have changed a lot in two months.
  3. I do think this stuff is cool and I've seen a lot of of it as I've been buying hundreds of CIB NES games over the last year, but I usually just toss it. I'm a collector, not a hoarder so I hate having extra stuff I'll never look at or use. That being said, I'll make sure to get a pic and post it here before disposing in the future. Good idea for a thread.
  4. Have you tried Yoku's Island Express or Creature in the Well? I haven't played them, but I've definitely heard good things.
  5. Can we call deathless runs "no dead" from now on? Because that definitely sounds way cooler.
  6. Interesting. I figured there was no way that postal services would eat the cost of a return trip home. So maybe it's literally just an effort to make the shipping process go well?
  7. Interestingly enough, NES Play Action Football (White 4 Version) has both. Based on @0xDEAFC0DE's post above, LoZ has a transition to a star code manual. Unfortunately I don't have a copy with the star code manual to compare... yet.
  8. Updated the original post with info about Circle-T symbol on the manual which seems to indicate the addition of the projection TV warning into the manual. The star on the manual remains a mystery, so if anyone has any info, please let me know. I'll keep looking for games with versions that add the star with a revision. The transition from Oval SOQ TM ---> Oval SOQ R, may involve an additional statement on the Nintendo assurance page of the manual, but that is somewhat unclear still.
  9. A pen knife is ideal for removing the plastic wrap, but a box cutter also works just fine. I remove the plastic wrap completely, but if you want to keep it in place, you need to be very precise with your cut along the top flap to avoid box damage. One recommendation would be to use something very small, such as a pin, to punch several sequential holes in the plastic between the top flap and the front of the box. This gives you a place to insert a one-sided blade with the sharp edge angled up to complete the cut. The key to opening the top flap is to approach from the sides. Slide a thin, sturdy object (such as a thin letter opener or the blade of a knife) under the top flap from one of the sides, then lift straight up. DO NOT ROTATE, JUST LIFT. If the flap doesn't lift easily, do the same thing on the other side to make the elevation symmetric and prevent a bend. Your fingers should be able to do the rest. I've opened dozens of new games and never damaged a box flap with this method.
  10. For NES, there is a FAQ here. It doesn't contain all games, but it has many. Additional titles that have been opened since the last update to the FAQ can be found here on VGS. Other users will have to chime in for other systems, although I think there is a thread for Genesis as well.
  11. And just for fun, here are some pics from the Tengen catalog showcasing alternate cover art for Skull & Crossbones and Pac-Mania.

Also, the GameFAQs list says there was no styrofoam insert, although there was with this copy (see pics).

  16. Welcome! Your English is better than my any other language.
  17. I totally forgot, but this is also what I've done a few times. Thanks for posting it here.
  18. Sometimes people have outdated addresses on PayPal. If an incorrect address is used, an international shipment will not get returned to it's origin, so the item will be undeliverable. The buyer is probably trying to confirm and protect himself.
  19. Try using quotation marks. I believe it has that basic level of functionality.
