  1. I got this back in 1997 when I worked in Electronics at Ames Department Store in Upstate, NY. It is still in the original plastic and has never been opened or set up before. Does anyone have any information on this? I can't find anything at all on the internet. Thank you for any help!
  2. I thought I would take the chance to share a few pics of my collection, I have scaled down over the years but still have a passion for the really obscure and I am always trying to find and document new Asian Mega Drive releases as well build my collection of random bits and bobs. As well as sharing my collection I will add pics and details of my new pick ups as and when I get them! So to start my PAL Asian "Gold Logo" Mega Drive collection, the 27 known releases, all complete in box with manuals (oh and the games below are all Asian releases as well):
  3. Welcome to the Sega Game Gear US variants guide! Despite its relatively small library of games, the Game Gear did have a handful of variants in the US. Some of these variants are simply reuses of European carts. Variants: Columns There are 2 variations of the label: One with bold letters and one with staggered skinny letters. The bold letters are standard for the European release as well as the first release of the game in the US. Columns was a pack in title in 1991 and the game used the same artwork in both the UK and the US. When the Game Gear was released wit
  4. Greetings all! I'm a Sega Genesis collector and only a hair's breadth away from a full CIB North American set. All I'm looking for now is a copy of Normy's Beach Babe-O-Rama, specifically one with a good condition manual (a better condition box would be nice too, but the manual is the key part). If you have one and are willing to part with a copy, or have any leads on one, please let me know! I'm willing to pay fair market price (negotiable) or to work out a trade from my growing collection of Genesis extras (I have a lot of stuff I'm in the process of selling off, most

  6. Greetings, all. We're back for part 2 of my riveting journey through the top 10 shoot 'em up games on the Sega Genesis. If you didn't catch part 1 which covers numbers 10 through 6, you can find it on the home page of my blog, or on the bottom of this page where it says “previous entry.” I'll reiterate here that the criteria of my top 10 is based on the North American releases for the Sega Genesis. I realize that there are many highly regarded shoot 'em up games which were released in foreign markets and did not make it to North America, but my list does not take them into account. In the fut
  7. Over the years, I have come to realize that the shoot em up genre is among my favorite video game styles, and quite possibly my favorite. And while I enjoyed some of the earlier arcade games from the 80s which I would play whenever I came across a cabinet at the mall or pizza parlor or wherever, I fell in love with games such as Gradius, 1943 and Captain Skyhawk which I could play at home on my NES. But by the early 90s when I received a Sega Genesis for my birthday, my love for the genre exploded. You see, for a kid who was into shooters, the Genesis was a treasure trove of riches, and boy, d
  8. Shortly before the world descended into this virus-induced chaos, I took the family on a long-planned Disney vacation to Florida. We had an amazing time at the parks and whatnot, but naturally, as I'm wont to do when I'm somewhere away from my home town, I did a little google maps research and discovered a game shop that was within driving distance from the resort. And when the wife and kids were content in the pool one afternoon, I ducked out for a couple hours and hoped to get lucky. Now the shop that I found wasn't much more than a hole in the wall in a depressing little strip mall, bu
  9. After hitting up an arcade for the first time in ages recently, and enjoying the heck out of their racing games, I became nostalgic for an old Sega arcade from when I was a kid called Rad Mobile. I haven't come across the game since the early 90s, but I loved it back then and it has stayed with me in my gaming memories over the years. Well, after doing a little research, I discovered that the game was ported to the Saturn as a Japan exclusive release called Gale Racer. Well, spit! I quickly hit the ebays and found a Japanese seller who seemed reputable and had a good looking copy with plenty o
  10. A buddy of mine picked this one up recently and was talking to me about it, asking some questions because he was having a tough time with it. Now I've had a copy for at least a decade and probably hadn't played it in about half that time, so I decided to fire it up for a refresher. Playing through the game took me a while, and a couple of tries, and when I finally made it to the boss in the Skynet level, I ended up burning through all of my continues and almost all of my lives before I finally beat the giant bouncing Terminator head (which kind of reminds me of Zombie Nation). Holy crap, does
  11. Hello VGS ! I've had a Dreamcast for about two years now and it has started having a few problems lately. First, every time I start the console, it asks me what is the time. I know it is possible to fix this issue by changing the battery inside the console, but I have absolutely zero experience welding. Also, some games are freezing up, some won't boot up and I tell you, my discs are in pristine condition. I guess this would be because of the laser lens, which is not working properly anymore. I would gladly take your advices and even your services if someone can check up my Dreamcast
  12. Its the Sega Sonic sign from Best Buy. I know they are hard to come by. It’s to big for me but I thought maybe someone would be interested. He’s only asking $150 for it. I’m not selling it just popped up on Facebook.

  15. Just got this in the mail, totally forgot I ordered it lol. Anybody else get their copy? Played it? Thoughts?
  16. Let’s gab about the Sega Saturn! I’ve only been playing the Saturn for around 2 years but I’m in love. I plan on bumping this thread every once in a while with my pickups and game impressions. But for now I’ll simply say this: Saturn > N64 .......shut up, jone Any other Saturn lovers around here??
  17. Since no one else has posted it, and for the sake of posterity, I've scraped the original 32X collecting guide from SeagAge (RIP), verbatum. All credit to user madhatter for the original list. 18. In your opinion, what the funnest Dreamcast game? My pick would probably be Crazy Taxi. I love that dumb game and played it for a ridiculous amount of time when it came out. I popped it in recently and still had a blast.
  19. I'm 2 away from a full set (Fantastic Dizzy and Pete Sampras) and I'm still looking for some label variants but here's my Game Gear collection. The bottom right row are European and Japanese exclusives.
  20. I'll be documenting my progress here in the making of a Sega Neptune. Here is the bottom of the system. I have relocated the capacitors so they won't be in the way of the 32x board. The Genesis board still fits in the bottom shell. The capacitors don't get in the way. You can see that there is a lot more space to work with now. The cart slot has been cleanly removed. I'm testing the length of wire for the cartridge slot extender. I am using a Cat 5e ethernet cord to source the wires. Here is what the reverse looks like. I will be relocating those 3 b

  22. I'm trying to make a list of Saturn games that include vocals / singing. I love SEGA music in this era. Usually the last track or credits include singing. It's so goofy and has such a charm to it. Please post some if you can find any. I'll link my playlist I update. 24. Sky Target is a 3d on rails shooting game exclusive on Saturn. It plays like a mix of Afterburner and Star Fox. I actually enjoy it more than Afterburner! I feel it controls better because it is a slower pace. Play it with the compatible "3d Controller". It makes it control great. The game has that great 90s SEGA arcade music with rocking guitars. There is even a remixed track from After Burner! This really is an overlooked gem. Check it out! Anyone else played this game?
