Hmm... Lots. I suck at video games. But there’s a few mentioned here that I have down, so I don’t feel too bad. Favorite: maybe Rolling Thunder. Most recently: Crystalis and Guardian Legend. Something not on NES: BloodRayne.

I also see the seconds counting on NA, logged in to the non-vintage site. On the front page. Is it possible to load it with the page, and have it continue counting from the load point, without JS? Pegged to local machine time? Maybe hard to keep accuracy....

Awesome, I love those. My dad mail-ordered a box set of 8 or PD (or banned) tapes out of some catalog when I was a kid. They had three cartoons each, and every one is permanently imprinted on my brain. They were SLP, so each cassette probably contained about ten feet of tape, lol.

Something one note. LoZ treasure chest or Megaman death are too long. Keep in mind this is something you might hear over and over again when there’s a couple of hot threads going on. I agree something like a Mario coin, Zelda rupee, or Metroid (or Megaman) gunshot. But in keeping with the all-original nature of the site name, mascot, etc., it would be best to have something original and not remotely copyright infringing. I’m not a chiptune composer like some people here, but I might be able to come up w/ something when I’m home.

Any sci-fi series you'd recommend? I'm really into apocalyptic/dystopian sci-fi. The longer the series the better IMO. Also wow...you have a LOT of CRTs...any reason why? I’m not much into series, myself. I like to read a complete story and move on, rather than a story that goes on forever. Kind of the opposite of you, lol. This is why I stopped reading mainstream superhero comics. Have you heard of Philip K. Dick? I would recommend if you like that kind of world-building. He was prolific, wrote a lot of books and has a distinctive style. I got into collecting old TVs some time ago... one of those things you get into accidentally at first. Now, I keep them in rows on a big shelf. Jacked to the same signal. Good for parties. Watching music videos.

Nope. Didn’t see anything like that and felt .../discover/unread was closest to what you asked. Have a look at .../discover (without /unread) which shows more kinds of activity. Still not exactly what you posted about, though. @Gloves what is the difference between articles and blogs? I would think blogs would be a series of articles, but there are posts in blogs, and nothing yet in articles, so that must not be how it’s supposed to work. I’m glad that you want to get more focus on that kind of more formal, long-form content. I checked the front page of NA rarely and sporadically, because that matched the publishing schedule. Looking forward to what people come up with, and I will consider trying my hand at some writing.

Some magazines like Mad, Heavy Metal, Asimov’s Science Fiction CRT TVs. Not looking to get any more right now but I have 15 or 20.

I don’t have a Switch yet so I haven’t played BotW. I am looking forward to it and I expect it will take top place when I do. Zelda II has been my long-standing favorite. I love the combat system, the spells and experience components, the way of exploring and wayfinding, the music and sound effects, how the towns and NPCs work, pretty much everything. Twilight Princess is in second place. Fighting and exploration are really well done. Some of the most fun boss battles in the franchise. Skyward Sword is okay to play, but is also annoying as shit with your helper Fi (like Navi but even much worser) and the repetition of the Demise battles. Plus Ghirahim being such a weird fauxmoerotic creep. Majora’s Mask is kind of lame but I see they were trying to do something different. It just didn’t land for me. I’d rank the other home console games all between TP and SS. Funny how those two are adjacent in time of release. OOT is fine, and successfully transitioned to 3D. Something that most other series did not do well, in my book. But it gave us the irritating helper character, and the overworld is really underwhelming and boring in retrospect. I’ve never been able to get into any of the Game Boy games until LBTW.
