  1. Personally rating kind of leans into also looking at the time period too or at least the system itself. I give it a 9/10. As much as I prefer the Bond motif of Goldeneye, this one did so much more, so much better, other than the framerate not being as kind at times. The atmosphere and story had twists and fun stuff happen to keep you engaged, it was creative. What really helped with all of it was the insane level of customizing on the control where it could get very comfortable on one controller, or dual analog using a pair which was different. The game just flowed well, good stage design, enemies were good for the era and put up a decent fight (less mindless than Bonds.) Mechanically largely across the board in most catagories it trumps Goldeneye, but it's not perfect, doesn't deserve a 10 nor does the bond game. It loses with the framerate problem at places, but also as unique and nice as the story is with it all and creative, the Bond feeling has more appeal at least from familiarity. I never botheed with the bots as it's not my thing or played it multi but barely, so I can't evaluate it more than you can read online, which again, nails it's predecessor.
  2. Maybe, or it's just really REALLY bad luck. I mean I remember seeing it in NP or something that said 1/32 for the creature to appear, then if it did, it was a 1/32 chance that creature would drop it. 1/32 is around a 3% chance, so you're at a 3% within a 3% chance. That's very very SLIM odds indeed that 10 hours doesn't seem unreasonable to get nothing out of it. I asked google calculator what 3% of 3% is, and it said 0.0009% -- yeah good luck getting that tail. That's 9 ten-thousandths of 1%. That's got to be mocking powerball odds or something of the sort.
  3. Water World eh? I think I remember that being a PAL game? I just have the robotron wannabe Virtual Boy one.
  4. Maybe when it came down something very heavy broke loose, caused a chain of stuff to move to a point where it centered on a weak enough space it just caused it to fold. Either way it's amazing seeing that. By the way the package arrived today, pretty nice contents to it with the steelbook, and the poster too. But that book I was waiting on, that 30 over retail for it and the other tidbits is well well worth it. Also Strife is on the block for shipping, it's in their facility but they're not packing it yet so it's on yellow about a week now.

Removed the gba/gbc games with their guides, the remaining Wii games, Bowser Wii mote only left from that.
  6. Now that's what I call maintenance standards. That was already down, makes you wonder what the hell happened to cause that. And since it's the LRG thread...checked that DHL handoff, they think it'll be here the 15th, but they gave it to USPS already and they gave a 4 hours window for tomorrow. Great, I want to read that book already.
  7. Unless something isn't honest and I can't even try and twist some visual reality into their favor I rarely do the partial, I just want to send it back as it isn't worth the harassment, plus I figure if they lied/covered it up by omission they deserve to eat paying the shipping to take it back. But if it's there, my fault i leave it alone, if it's questionable I'll work something out fair for both. Now if I have someone wanting a refund, I read carefully what they say, if they supply images I check. If they don't I ask for them and I've kept extra images I don't post, details, so I can tell if someone is doing a bait and switch. I'll be non-threatening to start but clear I can check against what they send...and then if I agree they're right, I'll see how reasonable they are vs I am about it. If it works, it works, if not, I just have them mail it back as I refuse to be taken advantage of. If it's really smelling like BS I'll call them on it basically throwing a dare to send it back, so far that has worked because maybe they figure I'll call ebay and get their account flagged as odds are they pull that crap on others and don't want to get investigated for patterns.
  8. Secret of Mana has an insanely unique style of music as well, really worked the SPC chip over in the SNES on that one.
  9. It's a sticky situation really, one would have had to I guess opened a sealed one to get the repacked fixed one sealed in return if it's sealed... or you send a sealed one in and they just don't care and mail another. It probably could end up like the N64 Rage Wars gray cart situation.
  10. Fuck that ruskie up front...not a real country, kill them all? And that old bitch about annihilating america so they can take back and lay wastes to the lands around russia ...she couldn't die of old age soon enough. These are the people we're dealing with, those who stick around, those who keep Putin in his happy place of dictator level faux presidency power. Shame we don't have better people in power right now, russia seems to soviet or not only understand force, not compromise, the fist not the fuzzy glove.
  11. Nice spread there and smart move on the manual I do that often as I can @MegaMan52 and agreed I really like Tails more too, and we got the same toy yesterday for dinner after my kid was done with her activities... she doesn't know or care about Sonic so it's so far on the front seat in my car in the bag.
  12. @avatar! What's the tipoff with it being fake, the fuzzy printed cover art? See you may not like the directly dropped audio, I appreciate it. I went through FF4 in the car over the last couple days again and now moving into FF3US(Kefkas Domain) which again is just dropped audio. The few others I brought up the Nintendo History for Zelda and Mario are straight drops of music as is that Konami selection of Castlevania tunes LRG did with the anniversary mid-tier package they did. I like to have them go as I either work sometimes, but often in the car. If you don't like that SFC CD so much I'll take it.
  13. I finally finally got word my game and book for the NGPC collection are in the mail as of an oddly timed 430am~ email they strangely sent twice. DHL got it, but then they were to just hand it off to the USPS which is weird I guess. I can't wait to read that book.
  14. That game looks fun, yet questionably maybe not. It's nice not having conflict which is rare for a style of game like that, but it seems barren, and listening to pieces of that talk about it having basic moves restricted earlier does seem not like the smartest of choices but it could be worse. Maybe it's the cats and no real NPCs or something to work with to put more reason into why you're there and doing stuff, but maybe not and it's fine in action. I mean you had games like Flower, Journey, and Sky from that one developer and you're not getting slapped around and investigating huge spaces without more than a subtle nudge. Either way, utterly remarkable audio aside since a composer helped, that this was done by a single person as the polish visually is very much there.
  15. No doubt. Every one I've peeked at is lacking or has an uncomfortable and wonky way to maybe add stuff their so called know it all database includes, which we all know is bs. That's why I gave up bothering and stuck to HTML on private web space, but that stuff is never long term reliable. If there were an iOS/Android/PC tool I'd be on board for a small fee, I think many people would.
  16. Out of at least a dozen attempts over the years, and back when it came out a yearly play of it, I've only maybe 2-3x ever got the pink tail needed for the ultimate rare piece of gear you can get out of Final Fantasy II US(FF4j-SFC) because it has a 1/32 chance not only of the right monster popping, but then the same odds that monster drops the necessary item.

    Bump, a few adds/fixes
  18. Oh I know I know, and I have an idea, well maybe it more so would have been a real Vol1, ever heard of Nintendo Super Famicom Game Soundtrack? Aggravatingly goes well in excess of $100 so I haven't popped for it, and even worse, it's not MP3'd online, there is one with the name of it, but it's not that specific disc. This one has launch goodies largely... Pilotwings, SimCity, F-Zero, Mario World, and Zelda. The first 8 tracks I think are more symphony or something resampled, but the rest are straight SNES audio rips. I wish the MP3s were easy to find, I'd borrow them until I could track the specific CD down.
  19. Thanks, excellent timing. I got a few nice new things I got, my nomad also just arrived back souped up with a new screen, region mod, sms and sega cd audio support via mega everdrive too. This will make for a nice combo. I recently ditched the rarely touched Wii so I have a little shelf space now.
  20. Yeah I know, all for the horny teens... as if enough boys didn't lose it over Titfa Lockhart when FF7 came out.

I've added a couple images to give an idea whats here as I've changed and added a good bit.
  22. @MiamiSlice CD looks familiar. That is seriously a very solid CD to get if you're a fan of SNES games that were Nintendo IP. Shame they never did a volume 2 or more.
  23. I used to chat with him a lot online years ago not sure if it was irc or nintendoage, racketboy or digital press maybe. I liked the work done on his FX chip overclocking experiments. Seeing Starfox and Stunt Race made pretty smooth was a nice trick. @Tulpa An online friend of mine for the last decade who turned into offline via phone/facetime has had a buddy a long time just south of here who can basically mod and repair anything. I got in contact with him and he has taken care of it. He happened to want something I had so we worked up a trade for the work/parts with a further couple games sent south too just yesterday. This is his business facebook account, pretty nice images of stuff done in there including a PCE LT recently among others. https://www.facebook.com/search/top?q=retro dog games
