  1. Eh personally I don't care. Attractive vs meh or worse is nice I guess, but it really comes down to the abilities and personality it brings to the table to make them a benefit to the game and not a lame prop.
  2. I forgot this post was active I've had it dealt with. Not just that but it go some unexpected upgrades included too rolled into the repair. SMS support and SegaCD audio (both via mega everdrive), JP region switch too, and then what I did expect the caps fully updated along with a new LCD and a proper mounting bracket. I have no idea who did it, I do know people love to take digs at drakon so that's no surprise. What was formerly in there I have pics of the mess. A good decade old job I believe and not well done but it held up for awhile. The 4th image is the replacement in process with its new pcb in there and lcd mounted properly with all the hot glue removed.
  3. That's normal for Japan, more socially open about stuff the west could find creepy or strange. Yet vulnerable and childlike don't have to be a pairing for kawaii. That dictionary probably should have closed that with shy OR (not AND) as primarily it's really just used for cute more than the rest.
  4. Yup, that's racist. Someone around here's going to tell on you I bet. Next thing, despite living in Taiwan, you're going to tell us that in your other thread with the cleaning of the famiclones, you'll separate the yellow ones from the whites and then bleach them white too because that's what everyone wants it to be, white.
  5. Assuming it's very very hot water and lots of cleaner, you really shouldn't keep sleeping with those things because no one knows where they've been.
  6. @Dorkoverlord Wow man... TMNT box I'd buy that too despite not using the floppies and Chex Quest plus Wai Wai World, and Mcdonaldland famicom nice. That's impressive. I got to ask a few people here since this is heavily read here, Mega Drive exclusive suggestions that won't break the bank as loose carts. When my Nomad is returned to me in the week I got a few free upgraded perks as a nicety...region mod to JP was one, segacd+sms as well. Thankfully have a mega sg so that's covered but the really good stuff I still like to own. Today I decided to do an afternoon(first time for this) run to the flea market south of here, it should be probably my last, or last for a good stretch. *Sigh* the owners decided to murder it with greed. two years ago from a buy out they raised the rents in/out 40%, in this part of the year raised it twice more. What was 1/3 empty is now over 1/2 empty, some who stayed have closed their multi-spread shops to singles and minimizing -- that place is dying fast. I decided to scour the indoor one potential last time.... got fairly lucky. I got Atomic Runner at one space I've known forever for $30. Another the dude is largely grossly overpriced, but in the rear found a box of sleeves/jackets ... 50 cents each unbranded, $1 each otherwise. Score on the 10 black NES sleeves and 4 SNES(I needed 2 now.) Then the manuals were hefty, but got them talked down about 1/2 because he said no one was buying them...and what was $50 got down to $30 for Crue Ball CIB(cart is spotless, manual intact). It wasn't a cheap day $100 between the two, but I'm happy with the outcome given what the stuff really books at (and what clowns charge for old sleeves now.)
  7. Thanks. i'll look, though Golf Story I own a physical copy of -- very much how Mario Golf should have stayed, not grossly strayed from.
  8. Next month I'll have a decent amount of gold coins to lose, any suggestions of stuff that Switch ONLY has that's not specifically on Steam/Gog and/or mobile? I already have Baldur's Gate DA which is a fairly recent release. If necessary I may drop it on an ACA game of some sort, but who knows... I think I'll end up losing a few dollars so I'd rather not.
  9. I went to HBP again, but the other farther out due to the sale. I had a few dumpy things to drop and got over $40 in credit so I got some freebies today. The 50% off made it worthy to bother. Picked up the Final Fantasy Unlimited set for $15 and also a blu ray movie which the story looked too good to pass up called Colorful the Movie, but given the content that'll wait for kiddo to be in bed.
  10. Impressive. I had considered it at one point but I keep backing off going into that rabbit hole as I'm trying to add less not more, and much of that could all be had off a solitary modern or old multicart more or less from what I've seen. I always thought they were just utter pirates across the board other than maybe a few legit from Hudson or whoever did them initially. I thought they were early like the pulse line stuff Nintendo did.
  11. That's no bad common or not. I'd have been pleased having a reason to try out Forgotton Anne, but also those 2 Turoks (especially #1), and Ion Fury would be nice. A few others I have already like Golf Story and Doom, some I would ditch again (SOR4) seeing it's on other services and there more likely to get actually used. That's largely what I do with Switch stuff, is it on GoG/Steam? Y/N would I be more likely to use it long term and on not on the Switch. Depending, then I click. I wish Valis Collection had a PC port but it's just switch and worse only they had it in english which sucks...waiting game.
  12. So you're keeping it in the family then. Makes sense.
  13. I've got the Kekfa's Domain classic set for FF3US, and then I have the FF4 imported audio cd with the extended tracks for the SNES stuff, haven't got around to grabbing FF5. I don't largely buy audio CDs for games much, but lately I did a little run of a few FF4 being one and I sample them to MP3 format and use copytrans control center to pop them on my phone without dealing with iTunes insidious behavior.
  14. I don't think it's really picture worthy, you decide. I think I may have mentioned on Tuesday but I found Sonic Adventure 2 for GC in excellent shape for $40, not a big deal but nice. Then Thursday I had a bit more luck found COD Finest Hour for $6 along with for about the same the Mario Sunshine official guide, earlier in the day $10 got me the Pokemon Platinum complete guide with the poster/map insert still attached. Not bad adding 2 guides and 2 GC games. Half price books if anyone cares Apr 1-3 is running a 50% off blu ray+dvd sale. I grabbed GATE (blu ray) reduced to 25 which is quite good, and Nadesico the motion picture(dvd) cut down to just 4 (yes they're both anime.)
  15. That was fast... hopefully it stays in the right section with that title.
  16. Hah we were discussing this earlier ago...like I said then, if you have any luck with the email and given their own mismanagement sent doubles of games you bought non-blind in the same order, and they allow replacements great. But if not let me know and I could probably take them off you as I've never played the things before. I just have the GBC cart they re-issued and I do know as rough as that game is, these are far more fluid and better designed all around.
  17. Yeah they kind of went there, some people did at least. It's so gray area it's kind of sick though as it just is a re-pinned arcade board set so that you couldn't just buy a cheap game as an arcade operator and stuff it in the machine when they could nail them for many times more over. It was like a Famicom to NES style PCB thing going on there, on steroids.
  18. Agreed on the FFV soundtrack it has some insanely stand out music for the franchise and the system.
  19. Fair enough. My parents got me into it thinking it was just another toy I guess with the NES pre-deluxe set, which I rolled into Gameboy, buying my first console the SNES at launch etc. My brother ate the BS about Sega making his 9 or 10 year old self cool, and was like the corporate puppet of the ages with the trolling which turned me off it even more where I wouldn't even touch the damn thing, look sure, touch...nah. I stuck with my NES until I had to save into the SNES through out 1991. He wasn't happy when I pulled the console reverse uno card on his ass, look but no touch, bitchin and whinin to mommy and he got nowhere since I paid for it. He always got games, but ended up regretting his attitude some as he went back and got more NES titles oddly enough. My foray into second hand stuff was Game Adx in 1995 summer (thankfully dead now) it's how I branched out when n64 got shaky into the DUO.
  20. I hope so, Cotton is unique good fun, at least it was for me in the 90s and 00s.
  21. Ouch... I never was a Sega fan other than a few arcade games in the 90s largely around mainly their lying bullshit and trolling causing those console wars of sorts. Sell yourself on the benefits, not lies and insults for buying the other stuff. I only got a Nomad and Genesis 3 in the later 90s, got into it a bit then. Because of that I never had to deal with toxic overpricing on their side as I never bothered to look at the ads. SNES got my money, then the N64 and Turbo Duo until the Dreamcast hit in 99. That's the only time I gave Sega money for their hardware.
  22. I'll look into it, no ps4 here, just Switch+PC. Given (weirdly) the regular and big box version of Cotton Fantasy costs the same, I grabbed the big one with the fun extras. I miss the series, might as well try and get back into it. I can't on NGPC not insane, stupid...deranged enough to drop $1000+ on that. Also snapped up Reboot off of Amazon while I was at it, seems I got in under the buzzer, says I'll have it tomorrow afternoon. We shall see.
  23. Ahh so that like cotton2/saturn whatever it was ended up being the defective title. I never did grab reboot but it's everywhere now, and it's like a remaster I suppose of the original which I have on my Astro City Mini, but still given what it is, it would be worth looking into. Honestly (and sadly) I miss when I used to own the old game on my Turbo CD and NGPC, both now are maddeningly expensive, though a loose copy of the SFC title I had too isn't bad ($80~) Panorama Cotton though outside of a bootleg for $20 is ridiculous too an extreme.
  24. I think it was the 2nd one SLG put out. Reboot was fine, then the second one supposedly was bad enough to be really noticed and they had tried patching it I guess since. But if this one is ok, probably be already to snap up on Switch then. I also saw the reboot is up on Steam now too, but it's got a $45 price tag which feels a bit steep.
