  1. Oh, okay, my bad. In that case, I have to agree with the Dreamcast.
  2. Yeah, I guess SMB is the game that I should be able to beat legitimately, but I don't think I ever did. Nor do I care to. When my brother and I first got the NES, I know we got pretty far in the game. Then, we found out about warps. I just asked my brother. He doesn't recall playing World 3 ever again since knowing the warp. Now, SMB3 I did beat legitimately with a friend years ago. I had never beaten it as a kid, and even though I hated the game, I figured I'd scratch it off the list. We took turns, passing the controller to each other when we died. SEVEN. HOURS. LATER. it was done. Why that game doesn't have a save or password function is beyond me.
  3. I used to shop at Aldi's when I lived in Ohio back in like 2005. I really liked the quarter system for the carts; it kept the parking lot clean. It was good for basic stuff. I would get fresh meat, milk, and eggs there. What I hated about it was having to buy bags or bring bags with you, although I realize it's better for the environment than dumping 10 plastic bags every time you shop.
  4. @MeganJoanneNice story of triumph! I bet it was a shocker thinking you beat it and then finding out you had to go through the whole thing again. IIRC, Nintendo Power had a huge segment on Ghosts 'n Goblins, and I think that's how I found out about having to go through it twice. I rented the game once and didn't get very far as it was. @NightowljrmThat's definitely my thinking. As far as replay value goes, if I really like a game I might play the harder difficulty, but that's only happened with one or two games that I can remember.
  5. Interesting that the bee was off limits... hmmm, I don't know if I agree with that. It's in the game itself. Was there a code you had to press in addition to getting the bee? I forget. If that's the case, I guess I can see why he didn't use it. I do think Ghosts 'n Goblins needs to be played through both times, because there is a different weapon you have to use to beat the end. Especially in Super Ghouls 'n Ghosts, which has a final boss you can only face at the end of the second loop, no matter what difficulty you play. I don't agree with how the series forces you to play through it twice, though, so I refuse to play even the first loop.
  6. This reminds me of a similar topic. If you beat a game on easy, did you *really* beat the game? Some games have extra stages in Normal or Hard modes, for example. I don't play games on Easy mode, but if I beat it on Normal and I get some BS like "You need to play the next mode" I'm going to say screw this and get on with my life.
  7. I don't think that's cheating, because it's in the manual. It's like a quiz to see if you did your homework before playing the game. Ingenius... and sadistic.
  8. Spikevegeta is a great commentator. He also does the Speedrun Sessions with Grand Poo Bear at different bars nationwide. I started watching Mario Maker vids on YouTube, and that's how I found Ryukahr. Then, I found out he streamed, so I started watching Twitch. All downhill from there lol
  9. Yeah I meant other people like @Paul @KHAN Games @mog , but now I see that they joined
  10. I've seen Toad. I didn't like watching him because of his mic issues, but I might stop back again. Jay_Cee is great. His castlevania runs are amazing! I'll be sure to check out those other streamers you mentioned. I did watch TMR just a little bit. I wish him the best, but I don't know about watching him on Facebook. Kinda weird. I think the Mario streamers and Arcus are pretty down-to-earth and don't hype everything up, but I know what you mean. I tend to stay away from streams like that, especially the ones begging for money. Nice, I'll check out your stream if you advertise
  11. It seems really fun to play. Have you faced off against NESCard? Haha, I ended up subbing to him because I loved hearing "mashmashmash" and such. I tend to lurk on Arcus' stream and have him on in the background when he's grinding away at a game. Yeah, it amazes me, too, how streamers can concentrate on a game and still engage with the audience. There's no way I could do that.
  12. Neat! I remember Mac Tonight and Changeables the most. I want that platypus!
  13. I used to watch NESCardinality, but I got tired of the Dragon Warrior randomizer races. I try to catch him when he's streaming something else.
  14. I had no idea about the reading from right to left. That makes total sense now! This appears to be a commemorative photo of the royal guard to the Empress on her visit of the Kansai region in May of 1941.
