  1. I managed to reduce my personal investment account by half and convert to cash, but I'm still riding out the rest and my retirement accounts. I'm not concerned with chasing more stocks for now as I also think we still have a ways to go. 2022 is more of a wealth preservation year to postion yourself well after the recession rather than trying to chase speculative investments. Good times will again comes but the near term outlook will be choppy at best.
  2. Same, not sure where DAO ranks in my all time favorite games, but it is definitely my favorite modern RPG that I've ever played.
  3. First entry 8, 2nd entry took series to 9. Looking forward to 4 one day.
  4. But will the recession tank the price of Nobel peace prizes?
  5. Short answer, no it will not "tank" game prices. It'll cause buyers to be a lot more selective with their purchases and prioritize better, but that's already been happening since summer of last year with the Heritage peak (speaking to graded items specifically). We're also in the summer lull season too so most are only buying the stuff they really can't pass on. People are fleeing stocks and crypto into cash or more safe investments like bonds and metals, but collectibles are in a category that falls in the middle. More speculative than the safe stuff but also more tangible than stocks and crypto. Stocks are bought with one purpose only, with the intention of being resold one day at a profit. Crypto is mostly speculative but can be argued that it is bought with the intention of being spent, different from a stock which must be liquidated first. Collectibles can be bought for keeps. People incorrectly assume that just because something is expensive that it is bought with the intention of profit. That may be true for some but I deal with plenty of collectors that are black holes. You sell them something, no matter what the price, that thing is never coming back to market unless next of kin inherit it and let it go. So prices can fall but there is also an invisible floor to where people start buying. Each person is different but a recession is not a depression either. Some new speculators will get shaken out (though most already have been after the HA bubble popped) but the decade long collectors aren't going anywhere.
  6. I think it'll find support around $10k eventually.
  7. So the digital version is out today but not the physical?
  8. You have to remember it's $85 (using the middle tier, the best "bang for buck" tier) plus shipping and insurance each way to get something graded. The cost of grading is baked into graded items that sell. That's not something I'd collect but a graded cart of almost anything probably has a stable floor of $50. Seller is still losing at that price and buyer is "gaining value" over subbing themself. One man's trash is another man's treasure.
  9. Has anyone seen the release dates update on any preorder? Amazon and Gamestop still showing end of year in their systems.
  10. Was that the eBay one? I was the underbidder if so, nice pickup.
  11. If from that american girl who's been selling stuff all of her stuff has been legit.
  12. 2-1-4-3 for me if you expand to 4.
  13. Definite fake, rear coloring is off and opening looks off too. Sketchy seller calling it a barn find and of course he's playing the "I can't tell if this is real or not so please don't bid if you're scared" card.
  14. Sealed Rareware Set, all VGA 85+ or Wata 9.4 A++ and higher. Some of the best of N64!
  15. He sold JJGames yes, he did not sell off PriceCharting. He kept that and keeps adding functionality, like comic book prices and CGC population queries.
  16. Yes, the site is dead and I haven't used it in well over a year or so. It doesn't work anymore, yet another thing GoCollect killed as we knew they would. JJGames is the real hero here for not selling out because we all know he got buyout offers too.
  17. I remember him as the bad guy in Naked Gun 33 1/3. RIP
  18. Nice update, on the home stretch! That made me realize I need to play Metal Marines, I'm a strategy fan and it seems interesting. Also good to see Sunset Riders and EWJ2 on that update, two that rank high on my list too... but I have only played a snippet of the library. Also never played a Civilization game despite your article saying everyone has!
  19. AH okay, this happened in the USA about 2 years ago. USA buyers have been paying sales tax on every purchase for awhile now unless you go through business / reseller paperwork (filed with IRS?) to get out of it.
  20. Well they were Saturday games for a reason though. Clearly not expected to pull that weight or they would have been Friday games. They are probably tougher to find than Mario 64 or Kart, but they sold way less and have a smaller following to balance out. Not million sellers and I don't see many putting them in top 5 (or even top 10) N64 games all time. But yes if it was a must own game for you then you have to pay to own I suppose. Also everything off the main path is "low pop", either cause they arent out there or cause most people dont grade them. Compare it to a game that is actually rare and extremely sought after like Mario Party. That's the lowest pop Mario 64 game yet probably an easy number 3 in demand and not too far off from Mario Kart or Mario 64. HA hasn't sold a high grade copy because they aren't out there.
  21. I'm a huge N64 collector and that Mario Tennis price makes no sense to me. I think I sold a raw one that was about 9.0 B to B+ for 799 a month ago? Think I had it at 899 for 30 days no bites then someone bit on the relist. People should be aware of pops but shouldn't chase them. That was someone chasing.
  22. Those 1996 releases just aren't out there. You won't see 9.8 games like Wave Race, Cruis'n USA or KIller Instinct Gold (in non Player's Choice) unless a case pops up. Mario Party is a scarce title too, that took me 4 or 5 years of searching for an 85+ back in the early 2010s when competition was a lot less. VGA pop on that one is very low Gold as well.
