Perfect example of a David Fincher movie, if only because he can take any bland and uninteresting concept, or tired cliche pulp fiction plot, and somehow make a great movie out of it (see also Gone Girl). It's just excellent craftmanship, and the most iconic scenes are still so recognizable via quotes like "what's in the box".

I'd put it as my favorite Thriller movie.  I'm not big into thrillers so none of them will ever be my top favorite movies.  If you enjoy thriller movies then you really need to watch it.  I mean it's got Morgan Freeman in it for god's sakes.

I'm not really into thrillers, so that's probably the main reason that I hadn't seen it.
