Didn't realize we were only doing 3 levels, but now I know that I can definitely see me beating it. It seems that all of the scoring comes simply from progress and time remaining so it's nice and straightforward. I noticed last night that up on the dpad makes you go even faster, which has helped a lot with more consistently making progress.
