  1. I've seen the hard acrylic ones for NES boxes and I'm wondering where is the cheapest place to get them. I'd prefer UV protection but I guess it's not a requirement if it's cheaper without. I found a place in Europe to get a dozen shipped for $200 CAD which looks like the cheapest so far. Anything else cheaper? I've found: - Canadian Acrylic Display but I'm still waiting for them to send me a shipping quote, their website won't calculate it. - Box Protector Shop in Europe which I wrote about. - Collectible Grading Authority is $204 USD for a dozen cases which is way too expensive.
  2. They had high quality boxes but more importantly they used newly manufactured boards so they weren't butchering vintage donor boards to make their games. Most people sacrifice a Batman: Return Of The Joker cartridge to make a Mr. Gimmick cartridge but Timewalk used new boards. The same thing would happen if RetroUSB died, people would start scrambling to get their games too. They don't offer boxes though so maybe they're different. I also got a faulty Cocoron which I was in the process of getting fixed before they folded and faded into obscurity, never to return another one of my emails.
  3. Oh, are these just new entries? I thought it was complete.
  4. Testing. Test centres would use these cartridges to test hardware, some are grey and some are yellow. There are many for different purposes: - Power Pad - controllers - console - The Legend Of Zelda (for some reason) There were also similar ones for SNES.
  5. I finally found one. Now I need the other variant.
  6. I feel prototypes will be more valuable than sealed games soon. I'd rather have a Stadium Events prototype than a sealed one.
  7. 2017 is also still for public sale.
  8. I noticed that too, I think it was copied and pasted with the background colour in the CSS.
  9. Just in case anyone was wondering, all of the information on Nintendo Age has been returned, all of the threads are back up now.
  10. Are all non-Players Choice boxes first print?
  11. I've been on Nintendo Age for 7 years and I have never seen this list.
  12. How would they know without opening sealed games?
  13. I'm probably one of the biggest variant collectors here. I'm working on a spreadsheet outlining which games came with which differences.
  14. I have 2012 onward and I'll be getting this too.
  15. Right, I did see that when I was at work and then forgot about it when I got up this morning. That's interesting and would explain why it's only third party Nintendo published games. Probably pretty uncommon also.
  16. I have had this Nintendo Age window open for months, referencing it as I picked up new Zelda boxes. Luckily when Nintendo Age got shut down, I still have the window open so I was able to copy and paste this. Credit to Braveheart69 but I think it's important to keep this information. Welp, I'm happy and relieved to say that after 4+ years I have finally completed the master collection list I began working on so long ago. I need to do a little tweaking to it and check a couple things but from #'s through Z's licensed and unlicensed etc for USA my complete list with ALL variants I have found over the years is done. I will be sending a copy to Dain to update the database and collection tool with and for you all to enjoy or not enjoy if you area variant hunter as there are MANY! Here's a sample... I finally cracked all the Zelda variants and this is what you need. 8 Total CIB's when you include the "Classic Series" release. Or just 7 of the gold cart CIB's. 17. The star on the manual is completely different, lots of games have that. The star on the box is a Nintendo Power giveaway or online order or something like that. At least that's what my research shows. I wonder if all third party, Nintendo published games came with these.

  19. I have never run into anyone so greedy. This morning I had the winning bid at $262.07 for a star code Mike Tyson's Punch Out!! which indicates it is a promotional copy. This is a really good price, especially with all the hype around the value of this game right now. I'm a collector so it wasn't being resold. I won this: https://www.ebay.ca/itm/274073053480?_trksid=p2471758.m4704 Then I paid for it, an hour later I got a cancellation notice and a refund, then I saw this relist at $300: https://www.ebay.ca/itm/Mike-Tysons-Punch-Out-NES-Star-Code-Variant-Very-Rare-/274077962646?_trksid=p2047675.m43663.l44720&nordt=true&rt=nc&orig_cvip=true Seriously, this guy got negative feedback on his account for $38, is that worth it? Or maybe he had it worked out with the buyer to pay more once the invoice was sent. The Buy It Now price on the initial listing was for $375 but the auction ended with only 2 bids on it. His username is freddietool525_1.
  20. I'm working on one that utilizes Google Lens Tensorflow for image recognition. You can point your phone at a table full of games and it'll pop up with values beside each game as well as a check if you have it or not. No more sorting through an application, just point and see.
  21. Remember when Let's Sing 2016 was worth more than $25? Those were the days.....
